Penny Black Stamps

When I started stamping I definitely leaned toward stamps that I would ink with various colors and the coloring was all done for me. I was a little afraid to try coloring images but now with Copic markers, I am really enjoying the fun little critters that are designed by Penny Black. The Hedgehog images have become one of my very favorites to do. With a little grandson, I thought this would be a fun image to order and have for when he gets a little bigger.

The card base and layer with the design is made with papers from Lasting Impressions. I ran a portion of the front through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder and then scored two lines above that with my Scor-Pal. This left room at the top to add the two butterflies and sun stamped images. Images were colored with Copic makers. Layers were cut with the Nestabilities scalloped and plain square dies. Depending on the occasion, I will add a stamped sentiment inside.

(White paper, stamped images, Nestabilities and Copic markers can all be ordered for you by me.)

A Blue Jay

Time sure does fly........a week has gone by and I hadn't gotten another card posted. I hope to improve and be able to post more often but hope you will continue checking back often -- to this page and the links to my Heartwarmer store links on the right.

A few days ago after I made the card with the Cardinal on it, I took another look at that stamp and decided it could sure be a Blue Jay as well.

I don't think this card needs a lot of explanation. I used Powdered Sugar cardstock from Lasting Impressions. The blue is from Stampin Up. Stamped image is from Inkadinkado. I used SU markers to color the image and Nestabilities (which I sell) for the two layers. The embossed designs on the card base are from Cuttlebug folders. After embossing the scalloped edge, I cut around the design.

OK a couple more Valentines

I usually watch GMA every morning.........or at least have it on. I happened to catch a segment this morning with simple ideas to do for Valentine gifts and cards. I posted a couple of cards that were from their idea. They made theirs sideways with a top fold but I made mine the opposite direction.

The one with just the 12 small hearts could have tiny messages stamped on some of the hearts. Or it could be made on white with pastel colored hearts like those little candy sentiment hearts and a different message on each (I happen to have a set of small stamps for Valentines).

The second one I did was the same except I added a larger layered heart on top of the small ones and next year will decide what sentiment to stamp on it.

I thought you might like to see the idea if you need a really quick card. These would also make very easy cards for children to make.

I used three sizes of the Marvy Uchida scalloped heart punches......which I can get for you if you want them.

The Cardinal

The stamp used on this card is from Inkadinkado. I have the wood mounted version of it but also the same design only a little smaller which I have stamped on the inside of the card at the suggestion of a couple friends. The coloring was done with markers from Stampin Up. Scalloped circles were punched with the Marvy Uchida punches. Tiny black buttons were added at the bottom right corner.

Materials used
Papers: Powdered Sugar White from Lasting Impressions, Red from Stampin Up and Glossy Black from a distributor where I puchase items for resale.
Other: Versafine Ink, Ribbon and Buttons from Lasting Impressions

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
