2 More K&Company Paper & Flowers

Today's cards are two more that I made for my mother's use.  They are made with K&Company dp from Designer Mat Pad "Abrianna" and coordinating dimensional flowers from a separate package.  Each sheet in the paper pad is double sided.

I don't think these need any further explanation, but if you have questions, just let me know.  I really like the way these flowers work so well with the paper pad.

K&Company Paper & Flowers

Two more cards I made for my mother.  Before adding the dp to the cards, I ran the top edge and the bottom edge of both cards through the Cuttlebug with a Swiss Dots border embossing folder.  The dp was added between two embossed lines made with the Scor-Pal.

The dp on the right hand card wasn't quite wide enough to go to the edges so I scored a vertical line half way between the edge of the card and the dp to finish it off.

The dimensional flowers from K&Company were attached to white ovals I had made with a Marvy Uchida punch and then adhered to the card.

QUICK AND EASY Thinking of You

My mother recently mentioned that she would like to have some extra cards on hand so I thought I would make up a few for her that could be used for birthday, get well and even as a sympathy.

I had seen a very similar card on someone's blog that used this SU Medallion stamp.  I made several similar to this for her.  I left some blank inside and on a couple made them specifically for a birthday and one for a sympathy.

As careful as I try to be, I made a boo boo on the right hand card and saw a streak of the ink.  Not good!  Luckily I found this butterfly on a sheet of K & Company dimensional butterflies.  The color was perfect for the  SU Rich Razzleberry ink.

50th ANNIVERSARY

My mother-in-law needed two 50th Anniversary cards.  I thought of the Hallmark cards I see and for this type of celebration they are usually very elegant and often have gold lettering and some embossing on the card.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto PTI Vintage Cream card stock with Egyptian Gold embossing powder.  I then cut that piece with the Spellbinders Classic Rectangle set and mounted it onto a piece made with the Scalloped rectangle......both were cut and then embossed.

The front of the card was embossed with a Craft Concepts embossing folder "Budding Vine" which I purchased from CropStop.com.  The sentiment piece was then mounted with foam squares.

STICKER CARD FOR KIDS

This cards was made using a sticker sheet from Penny Black.  With the tall giraffe, I thought it would be fun to have it peeking out from the inside of the card, so I tore a corner off of the upper right front of the card and then lined that edge with some of the palm branches.  I think this will make a fun card for a small child's birthday.

If anyone is interested in a sheet of these stickers, you can let me know since I have extra sheets.  Each sheet would be $2.00 + small amount for sending them to you.

SON-IN-LAW'S BIRTHDAY

One of our son-in-laws is celebrating his birthday on Thursday. I'm sure he never looks at this blog, so I'm posting the card I made for him today since too many days have gone by again for something new here.

The SU design from the Inspired by Nature stamp set was stamped on a piece of off white/ecru card stock and then trimmed down.  (I didn't take measurements but just trimmed down close to the stamped image.)  Using an SU punch, I punched out 7 brown pieces of card stock to make the grass look like cattails.  This was then added to an SU Chocolate Chip card stock and then onto a SU Wild Wasabi card base.

For the sentiment, I cut and embossed the Spellbinders tag from SU Chocolate Chip card stock  The "Happy Birthday" was heat embossed using VersaMark and Egyptian Gold embossing powder.  To adhere it to the front of the card, I ran it through one of my Xyrons.  The scroll work on the edges stay down well by adding adhesive in this way.

CONGRATULATIONS, NANCY!

One of the ladies in our Yahoo Group recently adopted a new puppy.  Nancy named her new puppy Heidi.  She relayed some stories to us about how Heidi was adapting to her new home and how happy they were to have a furry friend again.  Since I'm a dog lover myself and don't have one to enjoy anymore I really was very happy for Nancy and decided to make her a card.

This stamp set is from Craft Lounge "Crafty Clear Stamps".  It was a stamp set I had to have and had purchased in Des Moines in 2010..........but never used.  This was the perfect opportunity to use it because the stamp looked so much like the puppy she adopted.  I used a dark brown but her puppy has black spots and is very playful the way it sounds.  The design was colored with Copic CIAO markers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TARYN!!!!

Our granddaughter, Taryn Grace is FOUR YEAR OLD today.  We had her birthday party this past Saturday and these are cards that I made for her.  We gave her the first one and my mother gave her the second one.

I had purchased some birthday stickers from Outstamping Designs in Des Moines.  The birthday cake and embossing folder were both PERFECT because they both had 4 candles on them.  I'm afraid the embossing doesn't show up very well in the picture.

The Pooh pieces are not stickers but they were in a set that also came from Outstamping Designs.  The balloons made it easy to personalize the card with the number 4 on them.

Out granddaughter is having a perfect day for going to Adventureland in Des Moines today.   I hope they are having a marvelous time!!!  I can almost hear her giggling on the rides.  :)

DIMENSIONAL BIRD

Another sample of the cards I made using the bird dimensional stickers.   I ran the front of the card through the Cuttlebug using the "wood" embossing folder.  Not too long ago I showed another card where I had used a piece of card stock using the "faux wood" technique to make a frame.  I had more of that paper so used it to frame this dimensional bird. The frame was also run through the Cuttlebug with the "wood" embossing folder. I was wishing I had added a little ink around the bird like I did on the sentiment.........I can do that next time.

DIMENSIONAL STICKERS

While I was with friends in Des Moines, IA in June, we spent time at  Outstamping Designs  It's a great store if you are ever in the area.  The store has many, many samples posted for ideas, stamps, papers, and embellishments!  I think it's good that I don't live closer or my credit card would really be smoking!

They had a really nice variety of dimensional stickers and I love using them on cards.  The set of birds made great cards.  I ran the card front through the Cuttlebug using a Cherry Blossoms folder which I thought was a perfect choice to go with the flowers on the sticker.

I cut the oval with a Spellbinders die and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder.  I wanted to keep it simple so rather than cut another layer for behind that piece, I inked the edges of the off white layer and then added the bird.  The sentiment and egg stickers from the set were added to the card base.

I LOVE BUTTERFLIES

Last spring I stopped at a Hobby Lobby to purchase something other than card supplies.  Have you ever gone into a craft store with such good intentions and the stamps just hurl themselves into your arms?  I hadn't even taken a cart or a basket and walked up to the checkout counter with an arm full!!!

The stamp is from Stampendous and was on sale for 40% off so it was a bargain as far as I was concerned. I have always liked the saying.  The stamp actually has two butterflies on it but I didn't ink them and just added the vellum butterflies in the place where they would have been.  The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Egyptian Gold embossing powder.  The background paper was one I had in a paper pad.  I thought it went nicely with the butterflies I was wanting to use.

Items I can get for you at a discount:  Heat embossing gun, Embossing powders, and VersaMark ink pad & refills.

Thank you for stopping to take a look.  I always welcome your comments and enjoying hearing from you!

DISTRESSED EMBOSSED EDGE

Today's card is another of the apple cards I made recently using the same dp.  I had a piece of the checked card stock that didn't cover the entire front and there was enough room at the top and bottom to use a Cuttlebug zig-zag embossing folder. So before adding the papers, I ran the card front through the Cuttlebug.  Tim Holtz Distress Ink was carefully added to the embossing.  The apple was stamped onto one of the Spellbinders tag dies which had been cut and then distressed slightly with the same distress ink.  Two strips of the apples were cut from the back side of the dp and attached to the top and bottom of the card.

HI!

Recently I made a few cards which used "apple" themes.  This is one of them. The paper for the background was double-sided  so I cut a strip of the design from the back side and ran it across the checkered side.  The apple shapes were cut with Spellbinders dies.  It made a quick and easy card but I think a fun one to send to someone for various occasions.....especially at this time of year.

SPELLBINDERS DIES

I had both the Lacy Circle and Butterfly pieces cut out and was wanting to use up some items on my table.  I think they combined nicely on this dp that I found in my "stash".  There are tiny green dots in the flowers on the dp so I added a few green gems to give it some bling.

If you are interested in either of the Spellbinders die sets, let me know and I can get them for you at a discount.  In fact if you are seeing the new Spellbinders dies that are being released since the Summer CHA, be sure to get your orders to me early so I can get them preordered immediately.

FLOWER SOFT

I have had a small supply of several colors of Flower Soft for well over a couple of years and haven't had a lot of luck with it, but I found this stamp recently and decided it was a really easy way to use one of my colors which matched perfectly with some of my Lasting Impressions papers.

If there is anyone who views this blog and uses Lasting Impressions papers, I have a large inventory of them that I am wanting to clear.  Just contact me at the email address shown on the right hand side of this page.
