TWO CARDINAL CARDS

For some reason I think of Cardinals as more of a winter bird but not sure why because we have them stop here at our feeders now and then through the summer months as well.

I had purchased this used stamp a long time ago and had never used it so I decided to sell it on eBay.  Before doing that I thought I'd stamp off a couple of the images.  The stamp sold for nearly retail even though I had listed it as used.

The two stamped off images were still on my table so I decided I would get to it and get them onto projects.  I pulled out my Copic markers and naturally chose the "Cardinal" red for the bird.  A brown and green Copic marker were used for the branch.

I felt the "Cardinal" red was a little darker than I would have preferred so I chose a brighter red color (sorry I don't remember which one) to color the second image.  Both images were cut out with Spellbinders dies as well as the Forest Green card stock for the layering.  White card stock was chosen for the two card bases and each was run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.

Thank you for stopping by...............won't you tell me what you think?

I think I really like both of them! You did a great job coloring them up and the embossing folder is really pretty behind it

So pretty, Vicki! I agree with you - I think of cardinals as a winter bird, too. Love all the white and the embossing.

I love the way you did these cards. I like the first layout best and the second bird is not quite as dark, like you said, but both cards are great!

My card was modeled after one I saw on Pinterest.  That card used a die with larger trees.  This die is from Penny Black.  I liked the large...
