ACETATE LEAVES

When I was in Des Moines with my friends from our Yahoo Group, we were allowed to spend Monday and Tuesday working at tables in a store there.  Outstamping Designs is so accommodating to us and they have so many beautiful card samples posted around the store.  I have had fun working with Elizabeth Craft peel-off stickers before and there was a sample of this card posted.  Naturally, I had to buy those stickers and see if I could duplicate it.........which didn't turn out to be a real easy task.  But this will make a really nice card to use this fall.

I don't think I can begin to easily describe how this was put together, but if you have any questions, let me know.

Since I have several packages of these peel-off stickers, I will be showing some other cards soon where I used glitter and markers.

Your comments are always welcome and appreciated so I hope you will tell me what you think.  Thank you for stopping by today!

WEDDING CARD

This past Saturday evening we attended a wedding reception.  Both the bride and groom had lost their respective spouses but were lucky enough to have the second chance at love.  This is the card I made for them.  It's not the typical wedding card, but knowing them I doubt that is what they would expect.  Instead of gifts for themselves, they asked for us to donate money to one of two charities that mean a lot to them.

I started with a triple-fold card.  First, I embossed the middle section of the card and then cut an oval with a Spellbinders die.  I added a piece of green vellum behind the window area and then adhered the right panel of the card to the front on the back side.

The beautiful spray of flowers was cut with a Memory Box die.  I tucked the stem down into the space between the front and the vellum.  Then I added very small dots of Tombow liquid glue to parts of the die cut to keep it in place.  I wanted small areas to overlap onto the front.

I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of June already!!!!  Thank you for stopping by today!

PENNY BLACK STICKERS - Timeless #1

CARD #1

Each day this week you will see a card that I made using the beautiful Penny Black stickers from the "Timeless" (10-224) set.

Be sure to come back each day.

DREAMWEAVER STYLIZED DAHLIA DIE

I cut several of these white pieces while we were in Des Moines.  This one worked out great to attach over some of the varigated glitter paper from Michael's.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and check back again next week!

CASING KRIS

Yesterday's post showed a card that Kris had made up and had parts for all of us to make one too.  One of the other cards she showed us had a piece of red dp with tiny flowers on it and a yellow dimensional flower in the lower corner.  She had also used vertical sentiments like this.

I had paper left after making two of the cards with the Butterflies and made up four cards like this - 1 Thank You, 1 Birthday and 2 Celebrate.  The Thank You card has already been used.  This actually used up the rest of these white dimensional daisies.  It was hard to make myself use them up.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you'll come back tomorrow.

CARD FROM OUR GATHERING

When our group gathered in Des Moines, Kris had materials for all of us to make this card.  The dp differed on the cards, but the design was the same.  I really liked this card so I used her PTI Butterfly die while we shared our toys and cut several more butterflies to bring home.

I made two of these cards when I got home using this dp and a different border embossing folder.  I had a blue gem that I attached to the center of the butterfly.

Thanks for coming by today!  Hope you will come back again tomorrow.

MORE SWEET TREATS

When our group of ladies met in Des Moines last week we exchanged our monthly "Artist's Choice" cards in person.  Lynette gave me a card similar to this and since the dies were on the table for us to share, I cut out pieces to make some ice cream cones when I got home.  My cards are very similar to the one she made but I put my own little spin on them.

Thank you for stopping by today!

SPELLBINDERS - Card Creator - Tudor Rose

Not too long ago my friend, Harriet, posted a card on her blog using this die.  The members of our Yahoo Group are such enablers and I decided I "needed" this die and ordered it.  Much to my surprise when it arrived, I already had one and had forgotten!!!!  Once again I had two of something.  (If any of you out there are interested in it, please let me know by emailing me at vboddicker@aol.com).

I mounted the die cut on a card base of Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wonder card stock.  The center of the die cut has a cut out which is the shape of a Spellbinders Label die set so I cut a label from Wisteria Wonder dp and then a smaller one in white for the sentiment.  It still looked liked it needed a little something so I sponged on some SU inks to the two flowers and some leaves with a dabber.

If you look closely, I should have used a smaller piece to add the color to the two flowers because some of the ink got onto the card base.  Next time I will know better.  I really do love this die since it makes such a pretty design and cuts so well.

Thanks for coming by today!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!  Please come back again next week.  I have more cards to share.

I'M BACK WITH SOMETHING NEW

Well, I'm finally back and hopefully operating smoothly again for awhile.  My own computer evidently was tired and died.  My "computer guy" has given me a "loaner" until the new Windows 10 comes out and he thinks it is running smoothly.  I am still getting used to this loaner as well as getting used to using Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office Outlook which he wants me to start using instead of other programs............but slowly and surely I will become comfortable with the changes I hope.

This past Sunday I drove to Des Moines, Iowa and met up with six wonderful friends who meet annually there to share our toys and even learn some new techniques.  We were there until Tuesday afternoon.  Heirloom Designs in Valley Junction provide us with a great space to gather with our toys and play.  Of course, I know they also love all the money we spend there buying even more toys.

The card I am sharing here today is one I made to give to one of my friends for our monthly Artist's Choice card swap.  How fun to be able to give it to her in person.  The large die cut is one of the Spellbinders Card Creator dies.  I also took a strip of white card stock and punched a top and bottom border with a Martha Stewart punch.  The butterfly is from Jolee's Stickers.

It's good to be back and I hope I can keep things running now for awhile.  I hope I haven't lost any of you out there who have been following my blog.  Thank you for stopping by today!

COMPUTER UPDATE

I am still without my computer.........and will be.  Yesterday I had a call from my "computer guy".  He told me how he had spent way over 20 hours on fixing it.  All of my data etc was downloaded and fixes were being applied.  Joe was re-installing the system to factory settings (I think that is how he put it) and he left his lab. When he returned, there was a message that there was no hard disk!!!!!  Guess it just up and went away.

My response was, "So now what?"  He is going to loan me a computer to use and when the new Windows 10 comes out the end of July, he will help me make the decision about what new computer to purchase.

So for now I won't have any posts here.  I'm using my husband's laptop in the meantime.  I just don't want to start loading his computer up with "my things" so................

HOPE TO BE BACK SOON......MAYBE NEXT MONDAY!

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
