IMPRESSION OBSESSION DIE

I made this card using another IO die which I purchased recently.  I made cards in various colors with the white die and also white cards with various colored die cuts.  Very pretty design for Easter or Spring/Summer cards.  The stamp is from Paper Inspirations.

RELIGIOUS EASTER CARD

I got this idea from Pinterest.  The card I saw on Pinterest had little flowers in the lower corner by the cross.  I didn't have anything that looked quite right there so I added another die cut corner.

I see the reflection of my blouse in the glossy gold card stock.  It's difficult to get a good picture when using the shiny gold.

This card will be sent to the priest I used to work for when I worked as the church secretary.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR MY BROTHER

Yesterday was my brother's birthday.  I doubt that he checks out my blog but I didn't post this until I knew he had it......then I forgot to put it here yesterday.  Ron loves to golf and just had knee surgery a few weeks ago so I knew he was very eager for his knee to heal.  He can't ever wait to get out on the greens.

The design is a Penny Black stamp.  I don't think the card needs much of an explanation, so I will just thank you for stopping by!

RELIGIOUS EASTER CARD

My sister is the one who got me started making greeting cards.  She no longer does and about two years ago she gave me a box of papers etc. that she didn't want anymore.  I had used a few but decided to bundle a lot of the papers together and offer them at a stamp sale I participate in twice a year.

Recently I saw this die and I immediately remembered this paper.  I ordered the die and grabbed this paper out of what was going to be sold.  There was only one sheet of it and I sure wish I had more because it goes so perfectly with this die.  If anyone ever sees paper similar to this, I'd sure love to hear about it!!!

My sister will get one of the four cards that I made like this.  Thanks for stopping by!

STAMPIN' UP! - Ears to You

I had intended to post a card yesterday, but I was very busy stamping and coloring designs for all of the Easter cards that I want to send.  In the end, I forgot to post something.  Using colors for Easter cards is especially fun this year since we are all so tired of that awful word "Winter".

Two years ago I found this stamp somewhere after Easter and wanted it to use last year.  Last year I forgot to use it.  This year I was determined to do something with it.

I used three Stampin' Up! markers to color the bunnies, stamped it on white card stock and then cut and embossed it with a Spellbinders oval die.  The yellow mat was also cut with a Spellbinders die.

The bunnies seemed to need something under them and I knew what our granddaughter, Taryn, would tell me.  "They need grass, Grandma!"  She loves using the Martha Stewart punch so I honored Taryn by adding some grass.  It was shaped with the oval die after I had punched it.

The card base was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and then I used the Martha Stewart Wild Flowers Edger punch.  I really like the Swiss Dots with the pretty floral punched edge.

I'd love to know what you think of today's card.  Thanks for coming by!

A WEEK WITH GRANDCHILDREN

I had scheduled posts for last week ahead of time but didn't get one for Friday done in time.  I was busy preparing for a week with four grandchildren who were on Spring Break at school. Monday through Wednesday afternoon I had three of the family here.  Wednesday afternoon they got to go to the movie Cinderella with their Aunt Jamie and then I took them to their other Grandma's on a farm for two nights.  While they were gone, their older sister Allissa (16) drove here on her own and stayed for two nights.  I was thrilled that at her age she wanted to come and visit too!  What a treat!!!!

Friday afternoon, Allissa drove back to their home again and the three kids came in from the country to stay with us for one more night before our daughter came to pick them up on Saturday afternoon.   We've never had grandchildren in and out of here for 6 days .  It was a very busy week but a lot of fun.

Tucker (9) and Taryn (7) love to spend time on their computer.  They almost look like twins and certainly are very close in the way the interact together.

Ashlyn (14) used to make cards when she came to visit.  She hasn't been here to stay for quite a while.  Since she wanted to make an Easter card, I got out this Spellbinders die that I hadn't used yet.  Taryn (who knows all about all of my "toys" and how to operate them) "helped" Ashlyn know what to do with the Cuttlebug and told her she needed grass and clouds.  She reminded me where I keep the cloud dies.........what a memory!!!  At one point Ashlyn asked me "How does she (Taryn) know all this?".  All I could do was shake my head.

After Ashlyn made her card, Taryn wanted to make one too and used the same Spellbinders egg dies.  I had bought stickers for her to use so she added a bunny to the front of the card and decorated the inside of her card with some of the other stickers.

The next day they saw a card on my table that I had received from one of my friends and Ashlyn said she'd like to make one similar to it and naturally Taryn wanting to be like her sister wanted to make one too.

Taryn's card

They did their own coloring with markers on the stamp and stamped the images.  Then they cut out all of the layers for the image using Spellbinders rectangle dies.  I showed them how to cut the large mat with a small trimmer I have.  The only thing I did was on Taryn's card.....I cut the ends of the tag so it wouldn't be just a rectangle piece.  I'd be proud to use these cards myself.  They did an awesome job and were very pleased with them.

Whenever the grandchildren come all of them want to make cookies for Grandpa.  While these four were here, three batches of chocolate chip cookies got whipped up and a double batch of cut out sugar cookies.  Ashlyn and I did the frosting and Taryn and Tucker decorated.

Before they left, Taryn and Tucker had to spend a little more time on the computer.

The weather was good while they were here so they also got a ride on the golf cart with Grandpa, had two trips to the playground, played outside here and at the neighbors.  There was also some time watching movies and quiet time doing some reading.

Now it is time for me to get back to making some Easter/Spring cards for the people on my list who are in the care centers and independent living centers.

Hope you had a great week last week!  Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Card #1:  Using Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise dp.

Card #2 and #3:  I used designer papers from a Graphics 45 pad.
The card bases were covered with a paper I had purchased YEARS AGO at Michael's.  It felt good to use some of it.

SPELLBINDERS Royal Flutter - First Try

This was the first attempt to use the new Spellbinders Royal Flutter die.  When I started I wasn't sure where I was going with it so I just made this very simple card with it.  The sentiment is a die from Lawn Fawn.  I have more cards made with this die to follow this week.

SPELLBINERS DIE - Floral Bloom

For this card I left part of the cut out portion in the design.
The papers are Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wonder.

FEATHERS - Part 5

For these two cards I used a feather die to cut one out but then used the negative piece to sponge colors onto the background and then stamp the black designs over them.   The embossing folder on the second card is from Darice "Crackle".

FEATHERS - Part 2

This card was made using the Four Feathers stamp and die set from Stamin' Up!  I used Pool Party and Crumb Cake.  The background for the feathers was made by using SU markers on a acrylic block, spritzing with a bit of water and then stamping onto the card stock.  No two come out the same.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Thank you for stopping by!  Hope you come back again soon.

FEATHERS - Part 1

This past week I became obsessed with making cards using feather designs.  I posted one a while back that I really liked and decided to go with it again.  I have the Stampin' Up! "Four Feathers" stamp set and coordinating dies.  I turned to Pinterest again to get me started.  This is pretty much a CASE of one I saw there.  I did use a stamp from the SU "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set for the dots behind the feathers instead of the one on the card I used as an inspiration.

The feathers were stamped with VersaMark and then embossed with Silver powder.  I used Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise markers to add bits of color to them and then used the dies to cut them out.  I was happy to see that I had a button that worked well for color in the stash of buttons that I have and never seem to use.

Now this card was pretty much copying one I saw and the one tomorrow and Wednesday will be similar to others I saw on Pinterest, but then I have more cards with feathers that I will be posting which I did on my own.  So if you have feather stamps you'd like to use, tune in for more each day this week.

I'd love to hear from you about what you think of today's card and the others that will follows.  Comments are always appreciated very much!    Thank you for stopping by!

CASING A FRIEND

My friend, Lynette, recently made some cards using border embossing folders.  I had the same folders so I decided to kind of run with her ideas.  The birds on a wire folder was actually twisted a little so I had to tape it shut in order to not get a double "wire".  (I did call the company and they are replacing it.)  The sentiment on this one is from Hero Arts.  The mat for the embossed folder and the ink used are both Ballet Blue.

Before I embossed this piece I rubbed the one side of the folder with SU Chocolate Chip ink.  I also inked the edge of the piece with the ink pad.  The sentiment is from a Spellbinders die.

These folders had been in my supplies for a long time so I ws glad to finally use them.  Thanks for coming by!

USING THREE DIES

A few days ago I posted a card using the Penny Black "Petals" die.  This was actually the first piece I had cut using it from a piece of dp from a paper pack.  I had attached it to the front of a white card base but then it sat there because I wasn't sure what to do with it.

A couple of days later I looked through my scraps of card stock colors and found a brown and a pink that seemed to go with the colors in the dp.  I used one of the Penny Black "Leaves" die with the brown and then used my favorite Memory Box butterfly with the pink.

Won't you tell me what you think?  Thanks for stopping by!

SO READY FOR SPRING!!!!

In my card parts basket, I found this card already embossed and stamped.  All it needed was some coloring which I did with SU markers.  The embossing folder used is from "Crafts Too".

I have heard so many people who are more than anxious for Spring to arrive so I thought I'd try to brighten the day.

Thanks for stopping by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I'm sorry I didn't get anything posted yesterday.  One of our granddaughters was terribly congested and didn't go to school but spent the day here with me.  Since she didn't have a fever I didn't mind having the company.  We baked two loaves of banana bread - one with chocolate chips in it the way they make it at their house.  And we played the "Memory Match" game using a deck of Old Maid cards.  She laughed at what a terrible short memory I had for finding pairs of cards.

This morning we received freezing rain/drizzle so school was cancelled and our granddaughter will have another day to recuperate.  Friday we're supposed to have a heat wave.............40 degrees!

But now it is back to business here.  Today's card wasn't made for anyone in particular but will be good to have on hand for a last minute one that I want to send.  My sister had given me a stash of patterned papers (not card stock) and I was going through them to decide whether to keep or sell.  Originally this striped paper was in the pile to sell.  For some reason last week I pulled it out again and decided to use a little of it.

The balloons were made using 3 Penny Black "uplifting" dies .  The sentiment is from a Spellbinders "Sentiments One" die set.
