PENNY BLACK - Framed Flowers die

The Color Swap this month for our Yahoo Group was Raspberry and Gold.  My first thought was "how am I going to come up with a card?".  Turns out that it wasn't difficult at all.  I used the Penny Black die and cut out the design using a textured gold foil cardstock.  The other layers are Stampin' Up! Raspberry Ripple.

Another month has passed and when I come back on Monday, it will be August.  Where is the year going?????

50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CARD

Some of my high school friends are starting to celebrate 50 years of marriage.  That is certainly a milestone that deserves to be recognized.  This beautiful Memory Box die makes the card very easy to make.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY SISTER AND MY BIL

Today my sister and her husband (my BIL) are celebrating their 48th Wedding Anniversary.  I used both sides of the Stampin' Up! "Inspired By Nature" stamp.  The butterfly is from an SU punch.

PENNY BLACK - Butterflies die

The first time I used the die I cut the design using glitter paper from Michael's that has a variety of colors.  I had a little trouble finding the right color to use as a mat but settled on the Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wonder.  I believe the die cut sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft designs.

I cut a second piece using the glitter paper but this time I added it to black card stock and I like it better.  The "Happy" and the "birthday" are from two separate dies.

MY FAVORITE CARD WITH A STICKER

When I originally ordered a bunch of these sheets, I had wanted all of them to be black outlines.  However, this set came in Silver.  It was hardly worth returning it by mail to get the one I wanted but I wasn't sure I would like it.  I do like it a lot on this card.

Using Copic markers, I chose two shades of pink and two shades of green to color the image.  Then I used a very light yellow and light blue to color the background around the flowers.

I'll try to get into something new at some point next week.  Hope you have enjoyed seeing these cards as much as I have enjoyed making them.

THREE VESIONS OF THE SAME DESIGN

It's Monday and I just decided I have to share more of these Elizabeth Craft peel-off stickers.

Elizabeth Craft Designs peel-off sticker - using the outline on SU Pacific Point background. It was mounted onto silver glitter paper.
The right side of the card was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

Using sticker on white card stock and then colored with Copic markers & outlined with light gray marker.  SU Blushing Bride card stock.

I transferred the negative of one of the outlines to SU Wisteria Wonder
card stock and then matted with Silver glitter paper.

PENNY BLACK IRIS STAMP & DIE

When we were in Des Moines this past June, one of the ladies who works there is quite an artist designing cards.  Using a larger PB Iris stamp, she came up with a card and I designed this one from what I saw her do with the stamp I already have here.  All of the background is made by stamping off the image once first before adding it to the card front.  The coordinating die cut makes a nice final touch.

It's Friday again so that means I'll be back here on Monday.  Have a great weekend!!!

NOTE:  Later I decided to enter this into the Penny Black and More: July challenge - Anything goes with a sentiment.

WATERCOLORING PENNY BLACK IRIS

This is the first card I made using a Penny Black Iris stamp that I have had for a very long time.  I colored the stamp with markers, spritzed it with water and then stamped it once and then a portion of it a second time in the lower corner.  I love this little butterfly stamp so I colored it with the same marker and spritzed it (maybe a little too much).  The colors used were SU Melon Mambo and Old Olive.

The second card I made is slightly different......a green mat and this time I didn't spritz the butterfly stamp.  I added the sentiment onto a piece of vellum and wrapped it around the top layer, fastening it with tape on the back side.

One more card was made with this stamp, but you'll have to come back tomorrow to see it.  Thanks for coming by today!

PENNY BLACK STAMP/MEMORY BOX NESTING BIRDS

This is a very simple card.  I simply stamped the image first with Stampin' Up! Baja Breeze and a second time with Marina Mist.  Three little birds were die cut and attached to places on the branches.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Thank you for stopping by today!

HOT WEATHER CARD

We had been enjoying some really nice mild weather, but summer turned on the heat the last few days.  Yesterday when I was looking through cards on Pinterest, I found a cute card that was perfect for this weather.  You can go to Nutmeg Creations, scroll down and you will see the card I saw on Pinterest.  I already had cards scheduled to post for today through the end of July, but decided I couldn't wait to share this one and made some changes.  Colors used are white, black and two of the 2015-2017 In Colors (Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder).

The card I saw had strips of green cardstock making the stripes.  I have a stencil from Stampin' Up! to make stripes, so I sponged the new 2015-2017 In Color Cucumber Crush on to the white card base.    The slice of watermelon was made using Spellbinders Circle dies.  By using the entire circle, I have enough to make one more card.  The seeds were made using the Mini Heart punch and cutting the hearts in half.

Isn't this just a really neat idea for summer?  It would make a great card to use as an invitation for a BBQ.  I'll probably save it to use for one of our two granddaughters who have birthdays in August.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

POPPY STAMP DIE - Sparkle Burst Stars

Green Foil

While I was in Des Moines this past June, our group of ladies make the rounds to craft stores.  While we were at Jo-Ann's in Ankeny, IA, I found a pack of The Cardstock Stack - all foil sheets.  At the time I wasn't sure where I was going to use them but I think it was 60% off -- who could pass up that price?  Then when we were at Outstamping Designs in Valley Junction, one of my friends purchased one of these dies.  After I saw what she did with it, I knew exactly how I would be using some of the foil sheets in the foil stack.  Here are two more examples of the cards....all similar but a little bit different.

Aqua Foil

Blue Foil

When I start getting some Christmas cards ready, this is going to look really pretty in a red, green or gold foil.......maybe even some glitter cardstock.

Thanks for coming by today!

PAPERTREYINK - Skyscapes dies

I've seen some cards made with these dies and they are so much fun.  This card used FIVE dies.  (The little tree appears a little crooked - must have been the wind blowing.)  No sentiment was added to this card because I used it to send a memorial donation to a church on behalf of one of my families friend.

Hope you all had a great weekend!  Thanks for coming by today.....won't you take a moment and tell me how you like today's post?

ELIZABETH CRAFT - #5

Although it's a different floral design it also came from the same sheet as yesterday's card.  But this time, I also used the "negative" portion of the same sticker.  Because the stickers are shiny, I had a difficult time getting a picture without some shine on the solid black.  There is a special transfer sheet you use to get the negative portion of the stickers transferred.  I believe you can find a video of how this is done either on YouTube or the Elizabeth Craft web site.

Next week, I'll get back to some other cards that I have been making so I hope you will come back to see what I've been up to.  Thanks for coming by today!

ELIZABETH CRAFTS - #4

CARD #4

Today's card used a sticker from a different sheet but used the glitter method as I did on Card #1 and #3.  Coloring was done with Copic markers and I found that the Stampin' Up! Pacific Point was a good match for color.  The large bottom panel was run through my Xyron and then glittered.  I really like the way it added that extra "WOW" to the card.

Tomorrow will be the last one for this week, but it will add a new idea for these stickers.  Please come back and see it.  Thanks for stopping by today!

ELIZABETH CRAFTS - #3

CARD #3

These two stickers came from the same sheet as the ones from the cards I posted on Monday and Tuesday.  I used the same method as I did on Card #1 and added a Memory Box butterfly to this card.

Two more cards to go this week.  Thanks for stopping by!

SAME STICKER - Different coloring

CARD #2

This is the same sticker design but I just added it to a piece of white card stock and trimmed it down.  Once again I colored the design with Copic markers and tried to do some shading.  The background was sponged with SU inks.

Thank you for stopping by!

ELIZABETH CRAFT PEEL-OFF STICKERS

CARD #1

This week I will be showing you five cards that I made with these stickers.  I LOVE THEM!  You can find several videos on YouTube showing the various ways to use them.

I started by putting the outline sticker down with sticky side up on my craft mat.  One protective paper was peel from Stick It and then I carefully placed the sticky side against the sticker.  (NOTE: I cut the Stick It paper slightly bigger than what I will end up with so that I can be sure to get the sticker placed and then trim off the excess on each side.)  Glitter was added over the entire surface.  Using my finger I burnished the glitter into the adhesive and then removed the excess.  The color was added using Copic makers.  I didn't have Microfine glitter so I used the Ultrafine which doesn't leave the surface quite as smooth so I carefully "dotted" the color into place so as not to ruin the brushes on my markers.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you'll be back each day to see what you can do with these.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Today my husband and I have been married 47 years!!!  Yes, we got married on the 4th of July with flags flying and fireworks.  He's been a wonderful husband and father........ and now is such a wonderful grandfather to our six grandchildren!  I think I'll keep him.

I don't usually post cards on the weekends anymore, but since it's the 4th of July and I have a new patriotic card to show, I thought I would share it today.

This card was one I made for a red, white and blue color swap.  My partner for the swap was Sheri.  The basic idea came from Pinterest, but I did mine slightly different by embossing the red panel.  Instead of using a solid navy star in the lower corner, I used two dies so the center would be open.  I also did the sentiment right on the white star instead of  the way it was done on the one I saw.

Even though I love the color combination, I don't usually make very many patriotic cards but I really liked how this one came out. The card I received for the swap was from Sheri and she also used stars for her design.  The sentiment on hers was "I thank my lucky stars for you!" so it will be even more versatile for me to use.

Card from Sheri

It's a busy weekend, so I hope all of you are having some special celebrations of your own.  Stay safe and I hope you'll stop back again next week.

USING THREE DIES

The flowers and butterfly were cut using Memory Box dies.  The sentiment was cut with a die from Elizabeth Craft designs.  For a change I don't need this card right away, but it will be nice to have one when I do.

MEMORY BOX BLOOMINGTON BORDER

While I was in Des Moines, I took a class with my friends and used this Memory Box Bloomington Border die.  I really liked it and decided I'd add it to my collection.  The die also embosses the design which is nice.  After cutting and embossing the design, I left it in the die and used a dabber to add the color to the blooms and leaves.  The flowers were added to a strip of vanilla card stock and then mounted onto a piece of Perfect Plum with foam squares.  The vanilla panel on the right was embossed and added to the card base along with the floral panel.

The second car was made the same way using Melon Mambo ink and card stock.  I like it too but the first one is my favorite.  What do you think?

Thank you for stopping by!

MEMORY BOX TULIP DIE

Using the Memory Box die I cut the design from Stampin' Up! Green Garden card stock.  I trimmed off the blooms.  Then I used a small piece of YoYo Yellow card stock to cut the flowers.  I was going to put the cut out pieces back into the design but lost one of them so just did one piece on each flower.  I kind of like it that way too.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!
