BIRTHDAY BALLOONS

Our Granddaughter, Abby, is a 6th grader.  She was aware of the project that a friend of mine and I have been working on making cards for Senior Citizens in a nursing home and an independent living center.  She also knew that I had given some card kits to a young lady from church to make up and wondered if she could do some too.

One day she was staying at our house so I got her started.  I brought out all kinds of card stock and scraps of designer papers, a set of Penny Black balloon dies and my Cuttlebug.  While I was doing other things around the house I told her to just go ahead and cut a bunch of balloons and then we cut strips of coordinating papers to use on the bottom of the cards.

Stampin' and Scrapin' in GJ had a card with this layout and I thought it would be a perfect one for one of my helpers to make..  Abby made 12 cards - all the others are similar to this.  I hope that in some small way it is making an impression on her that will last and that she will continue to want to do other volunteer type service as she grows up.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Absolutely love all of them. It's amazing how the black and white is totally different from the colored at cetera. Great card ideas

Wonderful cards, perfect way to use up some scraps and make bright, cheery cards. Well done Abby!

My card was modeled after one I saw on Pinterest.  That card used a die with larger trees.  This die is from Penny Black.  I liked the large...
