EASTER CARDS - Day 1

These are two very simple cards that I made.  The "Easter Joy" is from Impression Obsession and the flower design is from Poppy Stamps.  (The name doesn't sound so good for an Easter card......"Prairie Thistle".)  This is a pretty design to use though on various colors of pastels or bright Easter colors.

All week I am going to be showing you cards for the season.  Thank you for coming by today!

SPECIAL NOTE

Elyse, Thank you so much for your comment.  I'm honored that you would keep a file of my cards.  Feel free to CASE anything you like.  I am looking into the proper name for the die used on yesterday's cards and will let you know as soon as I find out.  Not sure if it is still current or not.  Thank you!  You can always contact me through my email - just click on the email address on the top of the right column.

STAMPIN' UP! Pocket Silhouetes

For this card, I used Pear Pizzaz and Crumb Cake papers and inks.  I'll be using this card for my brother's birthday in March.

I can't believe it is Friday again.  I hope to be back here again on Monday with something new again.  Thank you for coming by!

LINING THE ENVELOPE TO MATCH

One day after not having made any cards for awhile, I decided I really needed to pull out some of the lovely designer papers that I have and actually USE them.  I decided a great way to do that was to choose a card to make and then line the envelope with the matching paper.  Below you will see four of the many cards that I made that day.  The die I used for the card is from Papertrey Ink.  Thank you for coming by!

DIMENSIONAL STICKERS IN WINDOWS

The last dimensional stickers from the set.  I used a Spellbinders tag for the sentiment.

Another set of dimensional stickers.  I believe these were from K&Company.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIMENSIONAL STICKERS

Four more stickers from that the same set as yesterday's card.  The openings for the gifts were cut with a die that I believe came from Paper Trey Ink. (If I'm wrong let me know.)

Thank you for coming by!

PP283 - A Clean-and-Simple Challenge

I don't normally post on Sundays but I had a special request to make a card for a toddler and I saw that the Challenge for The Paper Players was "Up, Up & Away".  Naturally balloons fit that challenge.

I've had these Disney Winnie the Pooh rub-on stickers for a very long time and I remember how much our daughters loved Winnie the Pooh when they were little.

The design on the front is made up of four individual rub-ons.  The inside was decorated with two of the remaining rub-ons from the package.  I hope the card brings a smile to her precious little face.

Thanks for coming by today!

2 CARDS USING DESIGNER PAPER

All of the papers except the leaves are coodinating papers from a paper pad.  I stamped the flowers with a stamp from the SU Flower Shop set.

I had a strip of both the yellow and floral paper left over  and made this second card.  I'm not real happy with it but I hated to waste the scraps.

Thank you for stopping by today!

BEAUTIFUL DIMENSIONAL STICKER

The dimensional sticker I used on this card actually coordinates with the beautiful dp I used on yesterday's card.  I felt it would be "too busy" to use the sticker with the paper and I really like the results of doing it this way.  I've had that paper and these dimensional stickers for 2 or 3 years and have been hoarding them.  They are just too pretty not to use.  Now I just have to make myself send the cards to someone.

Thank you for coming by today!  All week I'll be showing you cards that I have made using up designer papers that I have had for way too long.........so be sure to stop back every day.

VALENTINES #8 & #9

Card #8

Card #9

I remembered that I had purchased some Mrs. Grossman "Rose" stickers several years ago so  added them to the supplies we used.  I had 25 roses so that helped make a lot of cards like #9.  I had made #8 first but then decided I really liked it with a larger white area, a narrower red frame and then onto the white card base.

We also made 17 cards using some white heart shaped doilies that I had been hoarding for too many years.  I forgot to take a picture of that style.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these cards. I really appreciated the help I got from my friend.  I don't think I could have gotten 97 cards put together and stamped all in one day by myself.  The activity directors were both so appreciative of our efforts.  Today where my mother lives, they are handing out roses to each of the residents and one of our cards that will be from the staff.  The other cards will be handed out to the residents at the nursing home where my husband's mother lives.  It's a small way to help brighten the day of so many people.

My friend and I were able to accomplish all of this in less than 5 hours because we even took a short break for lunch.  When we finished we realized that we would have to get busy thinking about 97 more cards for Easter!!!!

Thank you for following my blog this week.  Next week I hope to be moving on to something new again.

VALENTINE #7

Card #7

I had three of these die cuts in my Valentine supplies from last year.  Isn't it a beautiful design?  These had been cut out before I had purchased Ken Oliver's "Stick-It" so I had to carefully place tiny dots of glue with the Tombow Mono Liquid Glue in various areas.

Come back again tomorrow for the last two cards for Valentine's Day.

VALENTINES #3 AND #4

Card #3

Card #4

Before my friend and I got together last Thursday, I got all of the materials out to see what all we could use that I already had........assorted papers, foils, punches and dies.  I discovered I had quite a few card bases already embossed which had not gotten used at Christmas.  That was a good start.  So I started punching and die cutting various sizes of hearts with a variety of papers.  These are two examples of a style of card that we made using those punched pieces.

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you two more samples of cards that we made using die cuts.

VALENTINE #2

Last Friday, I showed you Valentine #1.  I also told you that this week I would be sharing some of the cards that my friend and I made for a nursing home and an independent living center.

In order to get 97 cards done in one day, we had to keep things pretty simple.  I had this design colored in my card parts.  I cut it out with the Spellbinders die and then the coordinating red scalloped die.  The grey dots were stamped with one of the designs from the Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grunge set.  I also had a second one that we did like this.

I have cards that I'll post each day this week so please be sure to check back again tomorrow.  Let me know what you think.

"LOVE" VALENTINE CARD

This was a very easy card to make.  I used two dies for the design and placed light colored pink vellum behind the cut out heart.

I had intended to have a card each day this week but once again good intentions are not enough.  I wanted to be able to make cards for an Independent Living Center (44) and a Nursing Home (53).  Tuesday and Wednesday I was cutting layers, punching hearts etc.and getting ready for a real busy day Thursday.  I was so fortunate to have a friend who wanted to help and I welcomed the offer.

Yesterday (Thursday) we started making cards at about 9:30 AM.  At a little after 2:30 PM we had completed assembling and stamping 97 cards.  I felt like yelling MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.  In the process we used several things that I had in my "hoard"  for a very long time.  That felt really good to use up materials.  We had such a good time and even managed to do a lot of visiting along the way.  We're already excited about getting together to do this all over again with Easter cards.

Come back Monday and I will begin showing you some of the cards that we made.Thank you for stopping by today!

(P.S.  I have been aware that when I schedule posts or post them  like I am now, that they show up on my page for me to see immediately, but those of you who get the email notices don't get those until almost a day later!!!  I don't know why.)

FUN BIRTHDAY CARD

Sorry I didn't get a card posted for yesterday. Since we were under a winter storm watch for today, I ran some errands for my mother and myself yesterday.  Then I started working on some pieces for Valentine cards and then went to the Iowa Caucus for our precinct last night.  I have only gone to one other Caucus back in 2008.  It's very interesting to participate in one.  This morning I realized I had forgotten to squeeze in a post for my blog.

Our grandson, Tucker, is going to turn 10 this coming Sunday.  We won't be seeing him so I had to get his card ready early and give it to his mother who was here last Friday.

Making cards for kids can be a lot of fun but since I was hurried, I once again turned to Pinterest.  I saw this card made in different colors and an additional layer.  Since my mother sends cards to her great grandchildren for their birthdays, I think I'll probably be making more like this for them.

Weather predictions for us were off unless there is more to come later.  We got less than 2 inches but then it started raining.  It's above freezing so I think we're going to be fine.  It is pretty windy though.

Thank you for stopping by today!
