BLUSH AND GREEN CARD SWAP

Our Yahoo Group has two swaps a month.  One is what we call "Artist's Choice" and the other swap is a color swap that is different each month.  The Blush and Green color swap was an easy one to fulfill.  I used the Rubbernecker Rose and embossed the outline with gold powder.  I then colored the image with Copic markers.  I love the simplicity of this flower.

Tonight we will be attending a dance recital.  Two of our granddaughters and our grandson will be performing.  I am so impressed at how talented all of the dancers are!  It's a First Class recital!!!  And tomorrow night we'll be attending an Honor Band for 5th/6th graders where another granddaughter will be playing.  I think this will be her 5th Honor Band this school year that she was chosen for.  Very proud of all of them!!!!

Thank you for stopping by today.......have a great weekend!!!

FLOWERING FIELDS #4

With winter behind us and spring showing it's beautiful colors around here, I've had a really good time using these stamps.  It's a little early to plant any flowers here quite yet, so I've been playing with the floral stamps that I have.  This is the last of the Flowering Fields designs for this week but I'm sure I'm not done using them.  Tomorrow I'll have something new for you.

Thank you for stopping by today!

FLOWERING FIELDS - #3

Version #3 uses panels again.  I had a piece of the dp left over and went with it as is.  That left room at the bottom edge to use a Cuttlebug border embossing folder.

FLOWERING FIELDS - #2

I stamped the designs on to a piece of white card stock and then cut the piece into the three panels.  I am loving this stamp set!  The images were colored with Copic markers and then added to a white mat with foam squares and then added to the card base.

FLOWERING FIELDS - #1

I love the stamps in this Stampin' Up! set.  I've made several cards using this set and I will be showing you each of them this week.  The dp used on the front of the card base is also from SU.  I colored the designs with Copic markers.

RUBBERNECKER - Rose

I made this first card using red for the bloom since there is nothing prettier than a real red rose.    This is a two-step flower.  I stamped the red portion first and then stamped the outline.  I added a little green to just part of the leaves to keep with the design of the stamp.

Yellow makes a very pretty rose too.  The sentiment on both cards is from a retired set of six stamps from Hero Arts.  Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a great weekend!

PENNY BLACK - Pop Pop Poppy

I used this on some cards a while back but decided to give it a try again.  I used two different pink, a green and a touch of yellow Distress Markers.  Before stamping the design I spritzed it lightly with water.  I was pleased to see that the lightest pink matched the Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink card stock.

STAMPIN' UP! Sweet Sadie Washi Tape

It was time to pull out something different that I hadn't used yet.  I had ordered the Stampin' UP! Sweet Sadie Washi Tape months ago.  I left it on my table from the time it arrived but hadn't even opened the package.  I loved the Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantelope in colors when they came out.

I punched  the flower from an EK Success punch (which I had to "encourage" to open back up again after punching).  I put two of the flowers together and, of course, it looked too plain.  I had the Botanical Blooms stamp set on my table and used one of the stamps for the center of the flower.  I wasn't happy with the look so I decided to die cut a center with the coordinating die set.   I think a button would have been a good choice as well but I like things that lay more flat to mail.  I might make another card  like this but try a different flower.

PP 221

I had just pulled out this Stampin' Up! set to use for the first time and made this card.  Then I saw the Paper Players Challenge for this week so I added the three little butterflies.

I cannot take credit for the layout of the card since I saw one like it on Pinterest which was made by Susan Simpson using pink card stock.  I did make one like that as well, but wanted to post a card that was in another color.  A third card was made using Pacific Point cardstock.

Be sure to visit The Paper Players to see all of the great cards posted there this week.

K&COMPANY DIMENSIONAL STICKER

I purchased two packages of these stickers a couple of years ago.  Recently I pulled out some of the dimensionals that I have had for a long time and placed them on my craft table so I would remember to use some of them.  This card used two of the stickers in one of the packages.  I cut and embossed an oval with a Spellbinders die using PTI Vintage Creme card stock and then added the floral sticker to it.  That layer was added to a Dotted Swiss mat on a card base.   Then I decided to add the little bee.

Thank you for coming by today!  Have a great weekend!!!

RUBBERNECKER Sketch Poppies Set

This set consists of 7 stamps.  I used only the ones that make up the flowers.  The blooms were inked with Stampin' Up! Delightly Dijon ink.  There are some videos that show how to line up the stamps but I prefer using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  The designs aren't necessarily intended to be perfect but I still like to have them "pretty close".  And to finish off the card, I used the Freehand Frame from Rubbernecker.

RUBBERNECKER Flowers in the Breeze

This is the card I sent to my friend, Georgia, for her birthday.  Sadly to say it didn't get mailed until the day of her birthday, but she did receive it a couple days later.  This Rubbernecker design consists of 4 stamps.  There are 3 additional stamps that are sentiments.

It is a little difficult to see but I scored a line on each side of the Happy Birthday.

MORE RUBBERNECKER Field of Poppies

Yesterday's card used these colors and I still had the Field of Flowers stamp set on my table, so I did the design in the same two shades of blue and green Ranger Distress Markers.

I don't have all of the Ranger Distress markers, but I noticed that I do have two shades of pink that worked well together.  I made one more card and I love the softness of the pinks.

RUBBERNECKER Layered Poppy Set

Last Thursday turned into a little play time instead of worry about the tax returns.  This is another new Rubbernecker stamp set that I received last week.  I love using these.  I colored the solid stamp with Distress Markers and lightly spritzed with water.  I then stamped the black outline over the colored portion.  The goal isn't to necessarily line these up perfectly and I really like the results.  The Rubbernecker Freehand Frame really sets off the design.

PENNY BLACK, Sunbursts

Yesterday when I was playing with the new Rubbernecker stamps I took the time to make this Sympathy card with a new "Sunbursts" Penny Black stamp.  I colored the design with Distress Markers and then trimmed the image down to be mounted with foam tape on the card base.  I'm sorry there is no notation on the sentiment stamp for who  makes it.

I do sell Penny Black items as well but only order a few times a year.  If you aren't in a rush for something, let me know and I can get items for you with a discount.  I also can get the Ranger Distress Markers as well as other Ranger items.

RUBBERNECKER Field of Poppies

OK.....the IRS is just going to have to wait a bit longer.  Today I received the stamps used on this card and couldn't wait to use them.  These are so fun!!!!  I colored the solid stamp with three different Distress Markers and then spritzed the stamp with water.  The black outline doesn't have to be lined up perfectly, but I did want to have it close so I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the outlines. The frame is also a Rubbernecker stamp - Freehand Frame.

If you are interested in Rubbernecker items, let me know because I now have access to them and will offer you a discount.

SURPRISE!

I'm sorry, still no new card but I thought you might get a chuckle out of what I saw when I opened the blinds this morning.  I don't even mind that they come to eat the bird seed because they are so much fun to watch.  It's not uncommon to see 2 or 3 of them running around our yard chasing each other or on the corn feeders that my husband made.  We even had 5 one time.  By the way, we do get beautiful birds too.

PENNY BLACK FLOWER GALA

My friend, Kris, celebrated her birthday a few days ago.  I forgot to take a picture of it but fortunately she posted a picture of it on our Yahoo Group.  I still haven't made anything new due to tax work, but it was good to have this one to share.

The stamp is from Penny Black (Flower Gala) and the Happy Birthday die cut is from Whimsy Stamps.

TARYN'S FIRST COMMUNION

Yesterday we attended Mass and got to help celebrate this big day for our Granddaughter, Taryn.  It's always such a special day to see the children all dressed for the special day.  And we were surprised to get to see Taryn's brother be one of the Mass Servers.  The church was beautifully decorated inside with the Easter Lilies and potted colorful Spring flowers.

The Class

Taryn with her sister, Ashlyn

Taryn has two sisters, but Ashlyn wanted a picture taken with her because they are very close.  They take dance together and Taryn also wore the dress that Ashlyn had worn when she made her First Communion.

This wonderful lady, Fran, is like a third Grandmother to our daughter's children.  She has been such a great help to them when Jennifer and Kevin weren't able to be there for them.  It was perfect that she could attend and be part of the celebration.  I'm so grateful for her!!!

After the service they invited everyone for a "Cupcake Reception" and then our family went for lunch.  It was such a lovely day today other than the wind.

INCOME TAX TIME

If I want to get our taxes filed on time, I need to get caught up on my bookkeeping first.  I tend to let that go for months at a time and now I have a lot of catching up to do on several accounts.  Even though we don't have to file by the deadline since we get a refund, I really want to get this done and out of here.  SO.......until I get caught up and the returns filed, I'm not going to have much time to make cards.  That will give me the incentive to get caught up and DONE!  I'll be back soon.  If you get the emails each time I post an item, you always know when some new item has been posted here.

Hope you will come back!

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
