WASHI TAPE - DAY 2

These tape pieces are a coordinating set and are a fabric tape.  This time I started by stamping the sentiment and then working the tape around it.  I like that the white space at the top and bottom are about equal in size.

Come back tomorrow for Day 3.  Thank you for stopping by today!

A WEEK OF WASHI TAPE - DAY 1

The idea of using Washi Tape this week was started by our Yahoo Group's Color Swap challenge to make a red and white card.  I have quite a few rolls and decided it was time to see what I could put together.

Initially I just did the lower 6 stripes and then stamped "happy birthday".  It just seemed like the top portion was too empty so I filled it in with the same tapes.  It's definitely "red and white".

Rather than cover the front of the card base, I used a 4" x 5 1/4" piece and then mounted it onto the A2 size card base.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Day 2.  Thank you for coming by today!

USING A CARD PART

This beautiful die cut was made with a Poppy Stamps Distressed Benson Corner.  I had the card part laying on my craft table.  I found some Origami papers and chose this one to use under the open portion.  The photo doesn't show it clearly but the die cut is on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of card stock.  The Origami paper was taped to the back and then the entire piece mounted on a white card base which is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

It's Friday so I hope you will stop back on Monday.  I'm playing with Washi Tape and will have some fun ideas.  Thank you for stopping by today!

ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY

One of my mother's friends will celebrate her 100th birthday today.  We know this lady as well so I made this card for her and wrote a personal note inside.  What a special milestone in her life.  I can't even begin to imagine all she has seen in her lifetime!

The stamp I used for the image is Penny Black's  "Dreamy".  I used Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler ink and card stock.

GET WELL

This card was super easy.  I already had a die cut of the Get Well from a Tutti die.  It is such a pretty piece it doesn't need much else to make a card.   The white card stock had been adhered to "Stick-It" before die cutting.  I chose the plaid designer paper from a large stash of papers I have.  I cut it to 4" x 5 1/4" so it was slightly smaller than the A2 size card base.

ONE MORE WINTER SCENE

This is another card to fill my brother's order for cards.  Our sister's husband has a December birthday so this is the card my brother will send him next December.  The designs are from a Stampin' Up! set "White Christmas".  The picture doesn't show it but I ran a line of Stickles over the stamped slope where the snowman sits.  This is a fun stamp set!

A WINTER SCENE

This may seem like a strange card to post right now with Spring just around the corner.  It is one of the many I made for my brother to use.  His son-in-law is a hunter and his birthday is at an appropriate time of year to get this type of card.  The background was made with alchohol inks on Yupo paper and it made me think a little of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).  The two dies used are from Memory Box.

I'm late posting today's card because I have been struggling with income tax returns.  I do our own, but I also do one for one of my granddaughters, her parents and now this year my mother's.  Turbo Tax is a wonderful tool!!!!

Thanks for coming by today!

ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY

One time my friend, Harriet, made a card using this die.  I thought it was such a fun design that I figured I had to have it too.  I do really like it but the die cuts out the entire design in one color.  For this one I cut the design with black card stock which was adhered to "Stick-It".  Then I die cut the various shapes of the die in the blue, yellow and red.  Because they are adjoining each other, it was a little difficult to paper piece the shapes.  Using a white gel pen I added the little white swirls on the balloons.

For this card, I decided to cut the entire design from white card stock and then colored the various portions of it with Copic markers. I think I will definitely pull this die out more often now and simply color the shapes instead of trying to paper piece them.  The sentiment used on both cards is from PapertreyInk.

We haven't had a really bad weather compared to some parts of the country, but today through the weekend we are going to be getting a real peek at Spring-like weather.  It is most welcome!

BIRTHDAY ICE CREAM CONE

I really love this collection of dp from Stampin' Up!  Since I have had it for awhile, I don't remember what the name of it is.

Previously I posted a card using these same papers and the die to cut the ice cream cone. Since the paper shows a different shaped cone, I die cut it but then trimmed it to the same shape.

My mother wants a card to send to one of her great grandchildren and I thought the colors on this would work great for a little girl.  And who doesn't love ice cream?

MORE ICE CREAM

I have this cute stamp from DeNami Design and hadn't used it for quite a while.  When I made the card which I posted yesterday, it reminded me of this stamp.  I went with the same colors but used markers to color the ice cream instead of die cutting card stock.  The dp and pink mat are from SU card stock.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

OK, I know this isn't a Valentine card!  And it is 11:15 PM!  My intention was to post this earlier today but I got busy making Valentine cookies and decorating them.  Time just got away from me and then I just didn't get on the computer until now.

I actually am borrowing the picture from my friend, Kris.  I made this card to send her for our group's February Artist's Choice Card Swap.  The material's are all from Stampin' Up! and a die set from My Favorite Things.

There is a card I want to post tomorrow.  Hope I get to it a bit earlier than 11:15 PM!

TWO SYMPATHY CARDS

Included in the order my brother gave me for cards was a request for two sympathy cards.  I created both of these using a card from Pinterest as my "inspiration".  The stamps are from three different SU stamp sets.  The one above is all done with black ink but then matted with a grey layer onto a black layer.

The one below is a little different because I sponged the round area with shades of a blue and a green.

THINKING OF YOU NOTE CARD

My brother and his wife have gone to Arizona to spend the winter months.  He asked me to make a special note card for him to use to send Mother a note.

The vanilla card stock goes very well with the Oragami paper that I used under the die cut.
Stampin' Up! "Night of Navy" ink was used to stamp the Thinking of You.  The die is from Poppy Stamps - Distressed Benson Corner.  I love this die!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUNTER

This card for my brother's youngest grandson is a little "busy".  I tried to pick up the colors of the balloons on the SU designer paper.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR EVAN

My brother recently ordered over 20 cards from me to use for his relatives and friends.  His oldest grandson enjoys his love of trains with "Grandpa".  I had already used this stamp for the younger brother but did Evan's card completely different.

When our group of ladies gathers once a year, we often bring things that we no longer want and offer them to each other.  This train stamp from Stampabilities is one that I got from one of those situations a few years ago but hadn't used until now.

The designer papers are all from Stampin' Up! and I colored the train with coordinating SU markers.  The alphabet letters are from Hero Arts.

Tomorrow I will have a personalized birthday card for Evan's brother.Thank you for stopping by today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TUCKER!

Our grandson will be celebrating his 11th birthday today.  A couple of days ago I made cards for my brother's grandsons and put their names on the card so I decided to do one for Tucker as well.  (Those two cards will be posted tomorrow and the next day.)

The black card stock was adhered to "Stick-It" and then I die cutted them.  The alphabet die is from Hero Arts and all of the letters are connected so I cut out the entire alphabet and am keeping the extra letters not used.  The stamped and die cut items are from Lawn Fawn.

A few weeks ago I learned that all of the grandchildren have been keeping the cards I make for them.  That meant a lot to me and so I will make sure that each one i give them is going to be special.

Thank you for coming by today............please come back again soon!

VALENTINE #6

This is the final design I made for Valentine cards.  The die and punches made this card extremely easy.

Tomorrow I will have a completely new card that I created for our Grandson's birthday.

VALENTINE #4

I make about 25 cards to send to grandchildren and other Senior Citizens who we have known for a very long time.  This is one of the cards I made for them.  The die cut heart his from a set of Spellbinders dies.  The scalloped edge is a Martha Stewart punch.

VALENTINE #3

This is the "design" I made for the staff to hand out to residents where my mother lives.  Once again, to make 44 cards like this, it was much easier to decorate with punched card stock instead of die cutting.
