PENNY BLACK PEACE

The white layer was embossed with two folders - the random dots first and then the trees.  I added the Penny Black "Peace" and then adhered it to the card base.  One more ready for Christmas!

We've been busy the last couple of days changing from Cable TV to Streaming.  The change went pretty smoothly and we're getting used to the new way of watching our programs.  So in the process I forgot that I hadn't scheduled anything for Wednesday or Thursday.

This will be a holiday weekend so I hope you have a great time.  However, if you life in Florida, you are all in my prayers as Hurricane Dorian approaches.  Please stay safe!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JASON!

I don't normally post cards on the weekend but today is our son-in-law's birthday and this is the card I made for him.  He's a hunter and deer season will be here before we know it.  I always try to make his card appropriate for what he likes to do.

The idea for this card came from one our group made in Des Moines a couple of years ago.  Kris had all of the supplies for us but that one used a die cut Moose which was bigger than these deer.  The frame is from Die-Namics, the deer from Penny Black and the trees are from Impression Obsession.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FR. WALT

I had worked as our parish secretary for over 15 years and when Fr. Walt retired, I did too.  We continued to stay in touch so I send him birthday, Christmas and Easter cards.

The two die cut crosses are from a Spellbinders set. I added the little cross in the center from a pack of EK Success stickers.  The cross was then added to a mat which had been cut with a set of Simon Says stitched rectangles that had been embossed with a random dot folder.

ANOTHER CASED CARD

I saw a card like this on Pinterest and just had to CASE it.  I used the same colors but for some reason my colors appear to be a lot brighter than the one I saw.  I do like the color combination and will probably make similar cards using different combinations.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMMA!

August is a very busy month for birthdays in our family.........August 9, 17, 19, 25, 26. I really liked the card we sent to our oldest granddaughter so I decided to CASE my own card and make another one like it with "18" on it instead.  With granddaughters turning 21 and 18 those are important milestones.

Tonight we are going to be joining Emma and her family to celebrate her birthday and celebrate her moving out to her own apartment to go to college.  It's a big day for her!

QUICK AND EASY

I'm working on making some quick and easy cards to send to the Iowa Veterans Home.  The cards are given to them for their use.  Many of them have people they like to send cards.

This beautiful Washi Tape is from a set of 3 that I bought when I was in Ankeny this past June.

STAMPIN' UP! - One more "Spring Garden"

This stamp set has been in my "collection" for a very long time and I'm not sure if I had ever used it before.  When I CASED the card made by my friend, Kris on yesterday's cards, I decided to make this one as well.  I started with a white card base.  Then I embossed a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white with a random dot folder.  It was added to the card base.  This stamp from the set reminds me of Hollyhocks.

STAMPIN' UP! - Two "Spring Garden" cards

My friend, Kris, recently made a card similar to this.  The Spring Garden stamp set is a retired set, but there is a current set that has some stamps similar to this.  I CASED her card   Below is another card using the Spring Garden stamp set. (I think I stamped the wings of the butterfly upside down.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TARYN!

Our granddaughter, Taryn, is celebrating her 12th birthday today.  Hard to believe that our youngest grandchild will be a teenager next year! They have all grown up way too fast.

Taryn likes sparkle and the dimensional stickers on this card do have sparkle that doesn't show up in the picture.

THREE CARDS TODAY

I had labeled cards in a folder for this week, but then forgot to start posting on Monday so today you will see the cards meant for Monday, Tuesday and today.

This card was made using four pieces of designer paper from a 6 x 6 pad. They were leftover pieces from other cards I had made. The SU Island Indigo ink worked perfect with it the papers for the sentiment.

This was a sympathy card that I needed for the family of a friend who had passed away.

One of the last dimensional flowers from a sheet of K&Company stickers.  Thank you for coming by today!

TWO CARDS FROM DIE CUTS

Once I got home from our gathering it was my goal to use most if not all of the pieces I had cut or stamped while there.  (Some of the things I cut or stamped from previous years are still in my "stash" to use.)  This design has two pieces for the die.  If you use the outline die along with the floral design it cuts out the piece.

I put this very pretty floral piece on a scrap piece of paper and sponged the three colors onto the flowers and then added small dots of glue to add it to the card base.

This piece used the die without the outline die and so I was able to sponge colors under the white layer.  I do like this one the best.

ALL OCCASION CARD

I stamped off this design while in Ankeny and then colored it with Copic markers when I got home. The colors I used went will with the Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz card stock which I used to mat the piece.
