STAMPIN' UP! - Hydrangea Hill DSP

Although Stampin' Up! has a stamp and die set that is actually retiring today, I already had an older die that I used for this card.  I used the die from the set I had using the current Hydrangea Hill DSP.

Thank you for stopping by today!

ANNOUNCEMENT

As many of you know, sometime in July you will no longer be receiving the daily updates on cards I have posted.  I've done some looking on the Internet for a substitute and found "Follow It".  I have signed up for it.   I'm not real tech smart when it comes to making this kind of a change so I don't know if that is going to automatically kick in or what else I need to do.  By signing up it may only mean that I will get the daily updates myself.

When I clicked on the link it had me enter the http:// address for my blog.  In the meantime if you stop getting regular emails from Heartwarmers From Vicki, I'd love it if you would just do a search for that name in your browser.  Hopefully I'll figure out how to get a new service and be able to let you know how you can get it as well.  I hate technology changes! It takes too much time trying to figure it out.  😀

STAMPIN' UP! Expressions in Ink DSP/MEMORY BOX Die

A few weeks ago one of the ladies on our card making group posted a card that made me remember having this die.  I hadn't used it in a long time.  The card I saw on our group had also used a piece made with alcohol ink and some gold.  The Stampin' Up! Expressions in Ink dsp has a sheet that looks like alcohol ink (although it isn't shiny like alcohol ink) with shiny gold.

I love putting alcohol ink pieces or glitter paper behind this die.  It was good to get it out and use it again.

TWO DIE CUTS FROM A FRIEND IN CANADA

One of the members of the card making group I belong to is from Canada.  When she sent a card to me a while back, she included a few die cuts.  There were two of these that were all white.  I took one of them and experimented with coloring the floral portions of it and then mounted it on a card base.  All I had to do was add the simple sentiment in the middle.

For the second one below, I also colored the floral designs but then added the piece to a different color of card stock and  used a different sentiment.

The framed pieces were added to both card bases with a spray adhesive.  I used a "tweezer" type of tool to hold onto the corner edge and went outside with the spray can so that I wouldn't make a mess in the house.  The spray adhesive works very well....especially with something like this with such fine lines.

Annie, if you see these cards, thank you for sending the die cuts to me!!!

Thank you for stopping by here today.

7 CARDS USING STAMPIN' UP! - Bird Ballad dsp

The designer paper was already on the first three cards but they just needed to be finished.

I stamped and colored a bird, flower and leaf to add the stitched piece of white card stock.  Done!

I used Spellbinders classic circle die to cut the bird and then the scalloped circle for the mat.  The piece was then added to the incomplete card with foam squares.  Done!

As with the card just above, I used a Spellbinders oval die to cut out the bird design from the dsp and then mounted it on a piece of card stock that was made with a Spellbinders scalloped oval die.  The piece was added with foam squares.  Done!

The following four cards were made from scratch while I had the Bird Ballad designer papers out.  I wish I could say the papers have now all been used but..............not so much!  It's amazing how many cards can be made from a 12 x 12 pack of designer series papers!

Normally I don't post on the weekends, but for the last three Saturdays I have been sharing some cards that were started quite a while ago and finally finished along with these last four cards that I just made.

Thank you for checking out the cards.  Most of these will go the the Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned DSP #5

You might think that this card uses Side "A" and "B" from the same sheet of paper, but they are actually from two different sheets.  I just love the pastel colors used.  If truth be told, the sentiment had to be redone after it had been stamped on the card!  I was so upset with myself for messing it up but cut a small piece of the white card stock, stamped the sentiment again and then popped it over the messed up one with foam squares.

That brings the week to an end using the Hand-Penned DSP.  Lovin' it!!!  Thank you for stopping by!

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned DSP #4

The papers in this pack are double-sided and both sides are so pretty!  I considered this as the "B" side but love it just the same.  I stamped the floral design with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. the stamp set uses two-step designs.  i then stamped the areas with those coordinating stamps using the soft colors of Highland Heather, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron.

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned DSP #3

This card was CASED from one I saw on Pinterest but I did change the sentiment a bit on the white stitched circle.  I also added the "fishtailed" strips under the left side of the circle.

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned Petals #1

I'm really loving this pack of designer series papers and this week, I will be sharing cards I have made using the papers from that package!  This isn't one of very favorite ones but I do still like it.  At the time I made this card, I still didn't have the SU blenders or inks to use on the die cut floral design, so I pulled out my Copics and found markers that worked well with the paper.

The card was made a couple of weeks ago so I'm not positive but I think I got the idea for this one from Pinterest.  I believe that card used a strip of  ribbon behind the colored flowers.  I don't have the ribbon so I just cut a strip of the Garden Green card  stock.

3 CARDS FROM PARTS

This flowered dp was sitting on my table and it was easy to finally get it used.  I matted it with SU Old Olive card stock and then added it to an ivory card base.  The sentiment is one that I have not used in a very, very long time and it fit nicely in the area to finish the front.  The stamp is from Paper Inspirations but I don't know if that company still exists.

Once again the two pieces of Stampin' Up! dsp were on my table along with the piece of SU Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Evidently I had started to make a card but then never completed it.    The sentiment is from Stampabilities.

All this card was lacking was a sentiment.  Three more projects completed from card parts.

STAMPIN' UP - Flowers for Every Season

Both of these papers are from the same designer series paper pack.  I cut each sheet to measure 4" x 5 1/4".   Then I cut both of those pieces to 4" x 2 3/8" and added them to the Just Jade card bases.  The Just Jade strips were added and then the dimensional daisies which I have had for along time.

ARTSY WAY OF SHOWING A STAMPED IMAGE

The idea came from a video I saw.  The sunflower was stamped on four different colors of card stock.  She had taped four dies together and then die cut the pieces in each of the colors.  The pieces were used on four different cards.  The dies I used made too big of a border between the pieces but I hope you get the idea of what I saw.

Thanks for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Bloom with Hope

The following three cards all use the Bloom With Hope stamp set.  The dimensional butterflies are from some K&Company packages I bought several years ago.  Time to use up more of them.  On the first card I used the Painted Texture embossing folder.  I love it!

SLIM LINE CARD

The card base is Stampin' Up! Just Jade card stock.  The the dotted and floral papers are from the Flower & Field designer series paper pack. "Thanks" was cut with Bumble Bee card stock and added to the strip.

I haven't made more than 2 or 3 slim line cards, but I do like the way this one came out.  I think I still prefer the standard A2 or fancy fold cards

Thank you so much for coming by today!  HAPPY FLAG DAY! (Today would have been my parent's wedding anniversary.)

FIVE CARD PARTS ARE NOW ON CARDS!

#1

#2

#3

#4

#5
Cards #1-#4 - The images on all four cards had all been stamped and matted.  Then I chose some papers from the discontinued designer papers that used to be available in the 12 x 12 pads. I still have way too many of them.

Card #5  The image had been stamped and colored but not matted.

It sure felt good to get all five of those images used and out of my card parts!!!  I actually spent a lot of time going through three small baskets of cards parts.  I threw a bunch away that had been bent or knowing I'd never actually used them.  Then I organized them so that embossed pieces are in one basket, stamped images in a second basket and the third basket has die cut pieces to be used.  Chances are I'll need to go through them again one day and pitch some more.

STAMPIN' UP! - "Delightful Daisy" designer papers

This card was CASED from one I saw on Pinterest.  I like how they had stamped and punched the daisy but then only had a portion of it showing behind the sentiment strip.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend and I hope you will come back again next week.

STAMPIN' UP! Flower and Field dsp

A few days ago I showed a card in the vertical layout.  I really prefer this one in the horizontal layout.  I decided rather than mat the sentiment with a slightly larger circle, I cut the black die with a piece in the "Swirly Bird" die set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

FOUR CARDS USING DIMENSIONAL DAISIES

The black and white designer paper is from a Stampin' Up! packed called "True Love".  I love the paper in it because they can be used as is or by adding some color with markers or blenders.

Thank you for coming by today!

MORE RETIRED DSP - SU "Delightful Daisy"

I don't think it shows but I added clear Wink of Stella to the center of the daisy to give it some sparkle.

USING UP RETIRED DESIGNER PAPERS

Stampin' Up! just keeps coming out with these beautiful new papers.  I can't seem to get the ones I have used up before new ones come out again!  These cards were made a couple of months ago when I decided I had to move more of the retired dsp that I have.  Granted it didn't really use up much but it made an attempt.  As I get new papers, I am trying to also use up some old ones at the same time on separate projects.  If I use a new one, I have to pull out an old one and do something with it as well.  (We'll see how long that lasts.)

I CASED these cards from a video I saw at the time.  I love using the daisy punches that I have.

A GREAT DIE CUT

A few months ago I was close to Scrapmania in Cedar Rapids, IA.  I hadn't been there in a long time and discovered they had moved.  Curiosity drove me to the new store.  There was so much more inventory there and spread out so well.  I could have stayed for a long time but decided the credit card might get a hole burned in it if I did.

There were some dies that I had never seen before and this is one of them.  The card was made soon after I bought the die and wouldn't you know that right now I can't find the die.  I saw it a few days ago but now it is in hiding again.  If.....NO, WHEN I find it I'll let you know what it is called.

Thank you for coming by today!

CASING LISA CURCIO'S "Spanner Card"

(This card was supposed to be posted for Friday but I messed up and didn't change the "Publish" date so here is a 6th card for June 1st.)

It's difficult to explain this card.  The best thing to do is go to YouTube.com and search for "Spanner Card".  It looks difficult but it really isn't.  I liked it so much I actually made a second one which I will post Friday.

These are two cards I made using the second format from Robin Armbrecht's video.  (You can see a link in yesterday's post.)  I li...
