STAMPIN' UP! - Harvest Meadow dsp - #8

This card was incredibly easy but I really do like it.  This was from the One Sheet Wonder that Sharon Armstrong demonstrated but it is a great way to use a piece of dsp that is left over from a previous project.

By the way HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  Thank you for stopping by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Harvest Meadow dsp - #7

I chose to use die cut pieces on this one instead of using a sentiment on the front.

STAMPIN' UP - Harvest Meadow dsp - #6

Other than the embossing folder I used, I think this was pretty close to the one that Sharon Armstrong made on her video.

STAMPIN' UP - Harvest Meadow dsp - #4 & #5

I only changed the sentiment on #4.

I had the same stamps that Sharon Armstrong used on this card.

STAMPIN' UP! - Harvest Meadow dsp - #3

I think this one is my very favorite.  Sharon Armstrong had stamped the flower design in black and then colored with blenders.  However, the alcohol ink would bleed through the white card stock and I didn't want that to happen.  I love the monochromatic look of this card all in the Misty Moonlight color.  My sentiment is different than hers as well.

STAMPIN' UP! - Harvest Meadow dsp #2

This was a very clean and simple card from Sharon Armstrong's video.  I didn't mention in yesterday's (last night's) card that the video was a One Sheet Wonder.  For this one I changed up the sentiment.

STAMPIN' UP! - Harvest Meadow dsp - #1

I had this card chosen to post today (Monday).  It's 11:15 PM but it is still Monday so I'm making sure it gets out there for you to see.

Sharon Armstrong had a video where she made 10 cards using the Harvest Meadow designer series paper.  She had already made a set using this sheet but demonstrated a different sheet from the pack in her video.

After watching her video I pulled out the sheet she showed on her samples and made the 10 cards.  Some I made exactly like hers but on others I did my own embellishing.  This is the first one.  I made it like hers except for the sentiment.  Hers had a sentiment that mentioned "sunshine" which really fit better with the yellow used on the card, but I didn't have that set.

I'll be honest.....of the cards I made this one is my least favorite.  The others will follow on my blog soon.

Thank you for coming by today...........or should I say tonight!

STAMPIN' UP! - Bird Ballad dsp #8

Monday I mentioned that I'd have cards using papers from this designer series through yesterday.  Later I realized I had another card started.  I had covered the entire card front with the dotted Petal Pink paper.  I had three strips of the blossom paper left over from other projects so I trimmed them down to an appropriate size and matted them with Pool Party card stock.  After adding them to the card, I had no idea where to go from there.

Yesterday I pulled out the stamps again and came up with this card.  The birds, branch and leaves were were colored with blender pens......Light Pool Party, Dark Crumb Cake and Light Old Olive.  Since I didn't feel the Petal Pink blenders were a good mach to the dsp, I pulled out my Copic markers.  I found that the R11 was a great match and colored the little flowers with it.

STAMPIN' UP - Bird Ballad dsp #6 & #7

This card was pretty much CASED from one on Pinterest.  The dsp strip is from the same sheet they used but a different area of the design.  I really liked this one.

I wasn't as fond of this sheet if designer paper, but used the same idea as the card above.  Once I had the layers together I wasn't sure how to make use of the white area on the top.  I stamped and cut out one of the birds and branch of leaves from the stamp set and colored with the blenders.  I like this one too.

STAMPIN' UP! - Bird Ballad #4 & #5

These pretty papers really don't need a lot of embellishment to make great cards. Thank you for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Bird Ballad #3

Although it always feels good to come up with a card design on my own, when I'm trying to quickly use up a bunch of designer papers that have retired, I don't hesitate to CASE cards I see on Pinterest.  This is one of them.  About the only difference on mine is the sheer ribbon I used instead of a white satin.

STAMPIN' UP! - Using up some Bird Ballad dsp

This week I thought I would take a break from the navy and white cards I have been posting using up some of my designer series papers. (More will show up at a later date.) The cards today and through Thursday will be showing cards I made using up some of the Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad dsp.

When I started this card I was CASING one of two that I saw on Pinterest.  They had stamped a bird between the two sprigs of leaves but I hadn't left enough room for the bird so I stamped the sentiment which makes a clean and simple "Thank You" card.  (See my second card below.)

I wanted to try again so this time I stamped the bird in the white space first and colored it with SU blender pens.  The dsp lists "Petal Pink" as one of the colors so that is the color of the blender I used.  I was really disappointed because the blender pen color does not match the designer paper very well......it looks more or a peach color.

For both cards I had used a very thick white card stock but the alcohol ink still showed up on the inside of the card.  There was only one thing I could think of to do.  I cut a strip of the same dsp and added it inside the card over  the area where the ink was showing.  Problem resolved on both cards.

USING UP DESIGNER PAPER #7

Adding silhouette dies to a piece of designer paper makes a clean and simple card.   I love the Meadow set of dies from Stampin' Up!  Thank you for stopping by today!  Hope you'll come back again on Monday......there are still more to come.

The border on the piece with the flower is Washi tape that coordinated with that package of designer series papers.  Thank you for stopping by!

USING UP DESIGNER PAPER #1

As I mentioned last week, I am taking a break from making cards for a while.  I have so many right now and I have another "craft" calling my name.  In the meantime, I will be posting pictures of the cards I made up using this designer series paper (sorry I can't remember the name of it).  If you have questions, please leave a comment and I will respond.

I have two knitting machines that have had no attention for two years.  Only one is set up but I am going to concentrate on making stocking hats for the homeless and baby stocking hats for Birthright which is what I did two years ago but when Covid hit, my life changed.  Once I get a lot of the yarn used up, I will be selling the machines.  So far I have made 20 stocking hats and around 2 dozen baby  hats (which includes the 4 that I have done in the last few days).

Here is a picture of my knitting machine with one of the hats in process.

It takes approximately 45 minutes to get one hat completed with all of the steps on the machine but then it has to be sewn up by hand......not my favorite part but I can do it while watching TV.  I'll post pictures of the hats later on when I have more finished.

Thank you for coming by today!

HAND-PENNED DSP

I think this card is pretty easy to figure out how to make but I wanted to end the week with this card.

Next week, I will begin showing cards that I made using up dsp from one of the retired Stampin' Up! paper packages. All of the cards will be Night of Navy and White.

Right now I have SO MANY cards made up that I need to take a break from making more......even though I have SO MANY dies and stamps that I am really dying to use.  For the next few days or more, I am turning to another craft project.  I have two knitting machines.  Only one is set up and has not been used since the Summer/Fall of 2018.  I was making stocking hats for a homeless shelter and "baby" sized hats for Birthright.  I'm not sure why, but when Covid hit, I stopped using the knitter and hadn't gotten back to using the machine..  A few days ago I decided that I needed to get back to it!  I have a lot of yarn on cones for the machine.  I'm concentrating on using up a great deal of the yarn so that I can then sell the machines, accessories and books.

On a really good day I can knit 2 adult hats in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.  If everything goes right they can be knitted in 45 minutes each but then they need to be stitched up.  Truthfully, I wish I knew of someone who would sew them up for me.  I have also learned NOT to make any that are mostly black......very hard to stitch up!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  You will still be seeing cards here and I might even post a picture of some of the hats eventually.

FINISHED A CARD FROM CARD CLASS

The end of August, I posted this card but hadn't finished it and wasn't sure what I wanted to use in the light colored area.  I simply added the sentiment and called it "finished."

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned dsp and stamps

This was my third card this week that was based on a video I had watched on YouTube.  The square on the front was matted with Crumb Cake and narrow strips f the dsp were added above and below the square.  The floral design was stamped, colored and die cut to place on the white layer.

The picture shows a vertical strip of the paper along the right side of the picture.  That strip is actually on the inside edge of the card.

STAMPIN' UP! - Beauty of the Earth dsp

Once again I used the beautiful papers from the dsp paper pack.  It makes such a great card for Autumn. The coordinating die for the tree and leaves made it really easy.

STAMPIN' UP! - Beauty of the Earth dsp

This was a super easy card!   I had watched a YouTube video for it and since I had the paper and stamps, I knew it was one I'd make too.

A 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the dsp was added to a Misty Moonlight card base. I stamped the tree three times using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sentiment was added using Misty Moonlight ink.

TRICK OR TREAT

October 1st!!!  Soon the little gremlins will be knocking on our door so I thought I'd start off the month with a Halloween card.  My friends and I made 140 of these (so far) to distribute to 3 different facilities for the staff members to sign and hand out to residents.  I had a lot of Halloween Washi tape and decided to use a bunch of it.  There are three different combinations that we used.  This is just one of them.

The white layer is 2 3/4" x 5".  Before we got together I wrapped all of the pieces with the tapes.  I wanted to make sure I had enough tape to do all of the pieces.  These were mounted on to black card stock that I had left over from Lasting Impressions.   All that remained was to do the stamping outside and inside and add it to the white card base.

Thank you for coming by today!

My card was modeled after one I saw on Pinterest.  That card used a die with larger trees.  This die is from Penny Black.  I liked the large...
