SHAPED CARD

Lately I have been seeing some cards that are shapedlike a privacy screen.  I thought the design of the shaped card was just too cute not to make one.  The Yahoo Group that I belong to had an "Artist's Choice" swap this month so this is the card I made to send to my partner.  You can find the measurements on some of the Pinterest posts or see videos on YouTube.

Before decorating the panels, I used a Martha Stewart Punch on the top edge and the Stampin' Up! Decorative Label punch to make the "legs".

The flourishes I used are from a Hero Arts clear acrylic stamp set.  The flowers were punched using the Petite Petals and mini lower punches with Stampin' Up! Pink Passion card stock.  I added some flat gold metal gems to the centers of the flowers.  The little butterfly is a dimensional sticker from Jolee's Boutique.

To send the card it is folded and I tied a sheer ribbon around it.  I think I will definitely make more of these.  It takes a little more planning but it makes such a fun change-of-pace card.

Posts may be irregular over the next few weeks because I am getting items ready to take to a stamp sale and may be away the end of the month.  Thanks for stopping by!

BABY CARD FOR BENJAMIN

My husband started working for our town not too long before our first daughter was born.  When Jennifer arrived, I was completely surprised at how many baby cards we received from residents of our little community.

Well, my husband retired about 3 years ago.  In some ways history is repeating itself.  The young many who replaced him became a father for the first time shortly after he started working for the town.  We remembered the kindness shown to us years ago so I certainly wanted to do the same for them.  I made a card for them and we gave them a gift.  They just had their second child a couple of days ago and this is the card I made for them this time.

This cute little teddy is an image from Darcie's and may have been retired but I love that I can use it for a baby boy or a girl just by changing the color if the p.js.

Thanks for coming by today.

CASE OF JUNE 26 CARD

This is an easy card to make but is so elegant! After taking a class at Heirloom Designs in Des Moines back in June, I knew I was going to want the dies and embossing folders from Cuttlebug.  Two days ago I cut some of this flower design from several colors of car stock.  This card was made using Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue.  I had matching Bashful Blue satin ribbon.  The two white layers were embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

CASE OF MY OWN CARD

I had a small scrap of white paper on my craft table so I decided to stamp a portion of the same design I used yesterday on it and color it with the same Stampin' Up! Blendabilities.  I mounted the image on Wild Wasabi card stock and added it to the front of a white card base.  It still needed something.  Rather than stamp a vertical sentiment I added a Memory Box butterfly.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!

No excuses........I'm not sure where the last few days have gone but I've missed several days of posting a card.

The main stamp for this card is from Penny Black.  It is a large stamp so this is only a partial design.  The little dragonfly is from an Inkadinkado acrylic stamp set.  I colored them with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities.

It's hard to believe that summer is drawing to an end.  School started here two weeks ago already but a lot of children will be heading back for their first day of school tomorrow.  It's hard to believe that summer is drawing to a close.

Thanks for stopping by!

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
