SUPER SIMPLE

This was an extremely easy card to make.  I stamped the border design with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with clear powder.  I repeated with the sentiment stamp.

School started here last week already and now here we are at the end of August!  Thank you for coming by!

DISTRESSED BENSON CORNER

I posted several cards earlier using this beautiful Memory Box die.  For tihs card I turned the die cut layer on the side.  I really like it used this way too.

2 CARDS TODAY

This weekend I suddenly realized I had been neglecting my blog since last Tuesday so today I am showing you two cards.

This first card is one I made after using alcohol inks on Yupo paper.    I really like using a "silhouette" image on them.  The image is from Stampin' Up!.

This is a new design from Ken Oliver.  The design is made with a stamp and coordinating die.  It worked great for cutting those delicate stems of the Poppies.  If anyone is interested, I can get this set for you at a discount.

DISTRESSED BENSON CORNER Die

When I attended business school many years ago, there weren't dormitories available so I stayed with three other girls in a rented apartment.   My boyfriend (now husband) introduced one of his cousins to one of my roommates.  They dated and married a year later.  They celebrated their 50th Anniversary this past Sunday.  I was so glad that we were able to go because as it turned out, I was her only bridal attendant who came.  We were introduced to everyone and Jo told the story of how she and Dave met through us.  It was a fun celebration!

This card was made using the same die cut but I noticed a smudge of some kind on the lower right edge - something that couldn't be covered up easily so I trimmed the piece trying to keep a similar margin around the design.  I like the die cut piece better if it doesn't have to be trimmed, but I think this will work as a masculine card because of the color of dp and ink used.

This is another example of a "goof" underneath that I had to cover.  Part of the sentiment had not stamped.  Since it was a wood mounted stamp I couldn't stamp over it a second time so I stamped again on a separate piece of card stock and then used an SU oval punch to cut it out.  I edged it with an ink that went well with the color of the dp.  Some days I feel that my "goofs" are my specialty.

And one last example of a way I used the Memory Box die.  There was ample room to use this very pretty Memory Box butterfly.

It isn't often I share more than one card on the same day, but today you are getting 4 examples of how I used this great design.

THANK YOU, KRIS!

When our group met in Des Moines this past June, our firend Kris gave each of us a kit to make this card.  I put it together soon after I got home but then recently I did a second card.

I had die cut additional pieces from the die she used and ha those pieces in a poly bag on my table.  And I had some "burlap" ribbon from SU so I did a different version of Kris's card using just the strip of burlap which I had run through my Xyron to make sure it was stuck down firmly.  I love that sunflower!  I think I have one more to use.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMMA!

I don't usually post items on the weekend.  We had our two youngest grandchildren here on Wednesday evening through yesterday afternoon so I didn't have a lot of time to be on the computer.

I didn't have anything scheduled for Thursday but I had intended to post this card yesterday. One of our granddaughters celebrated her 15th birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for my mother to send her.  I wanted to make the ice cream cones pastels so I used some Lasting Impressions papers for the colors.

Hope you are enjoying some wonderful weather this weekend!  Ours is cloudy today but much cooler and tomorrow is supposed to be 75 degrees and sunny.  Perfect weather to attend a 50th Anniversary celebration!

BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY CARDS

Our Granddaughter, Allissa, is celebrating her 18th birthday today!  It seems like just a short time ago that we were welcoming with so much joy our first grandchild.  Those years have gone by so fast!  She will graduate high school next Spring which will be another milestone.  I had posted this card when i first made it, but I keep some back for special family birthdays.

My friend Kris and her husband are celebrating their anniversary today.  This is the card I made for them.  The stamp is Penny Black "Poppy Gems".  I colored the design with Copic markers.

PENNY BLACK - Gentle Whisper

I have had this "music" stamp for a long time and failed to use it.  I decided to use it as a background for the Penny Black "Gentle Whisper" stamp.  Both of these cards were inked with Distress Markers.

WITH SYMPATHY

Last Friday I posted a sympathy card our granddaughter was going to send to her softball coach on the death of his father.  The mother of the coach was a school employee at one time and knows our daughter's family so they also wanted to send her a card.  For the mother's card, I chose this Stampin' Up! Two-Step Terrific Tulip. I used  SU Blushing Bride ink and card stock.  I love the soft design!

PRAYING FOR YOU....

Recently one of my daughters asked if I would make her two sympathy cards.  The father of my granddaughter's softball coach had passed away and they wanted to send a card to him.  I have used this stamp for sympathy cards in the past and I thought it would make a nice design to send to the coach.  I colored the design with Distress markers.

PENNY BLACK STICKER - Gentle Blooms #1

To date, this is the only card I have made with the stickers from this sheet of "Gentle Blooms" stickers.  It's a very simple card but I think the sticker makes a nice statement by itself.  After see the other stickers from this set, you can let me know if you would like to purchase a sheet of them.

PENNY BLACK STICKER - Flower Gallery #6

This is the last card from the sheet of "Flower Gallery" stickers.  It's a CAS card but I really like it.  Here is a picture of the sheet of stickers in case you are interested in purchasing one.  The cost would be $2.00  plus a small amount for sending it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TARYN!!!!

Today is Taryn's Golden Birthday...........she is 9 years old on the 9th.  The two cards below are being posted before I know who will be sending which one but these are the cards I made for my mother to send and one for us to send.

These cute little mice are from a Penny Black stamp.  I've had it for a long time and haven't used it as much as I should.  It is a fun design to color and I think it makes a cute card for kids.  I scribbled some light green with a Copic marker under the design so that the mice weren't running in mid air.  It doesn't show very well, but I did scribble some very light blue (B000) for the sky.

Several years ago I went a little crazy and purchased a lot of Precious Moments stamps from eBay.  I fell in love with this one and actually have the matching figurine.  I thought this woujld make a really cute card for Taryn since she is petite and very "girly".  The Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride card stock and dp matched the Copic R20 "Blush" which I had used to color the little girl's dress.

Our grandchildren are growing so fast.  Taryn's older sister will be a Senior in High School when school starts again later this month.  Where does time go?

PENNY BLACK STICKER - Flower Gallery #5

Last Tuesday I started posting cards that I made from this one sheet of stickers from Penny Black.  This one is probably my 2nd least favorite.  I love the sticker, but not really pleased with how I used it.  The last sticker from this sheet will be shown here on Wednesday.  Tomorrow is our youngest granddaughter's birthday so I'll be showing her cards instead.

PENNY BLACK STICKER - Flower Gallery #3

This piece of Yupo paper had more red ink added to it which worked well with this sticker.
I don't think it needs any more explanation.  Thank you for coming by!

PENNY BLACK STICKER - Flower Gallery #2

This card is definitely an improvement over the one you had to see yesterday.  I love seeing what each background is going to look like when using various colors of alcohol ink on the Yupo paper.  I had this one on my table and decided this sticker looked really great on it with those colors.  First I added the sticker to a piece of white card stock, trimmed it down and then matted it with black.  The sentiment was stamped with Staz-On black ink.

I'd love to hear from you with comments on my cards - positive or negative - I'm open to any critics!  Thank you for coming by!

PENNY BLACK - Flower Gallery Sticker #1

The rest of this week I will be featuring cards made with this Penny Black set of stickers.  Sometimes I like to share a card that I'm not happy with and  I have to admit that I'm not starting off with my favorite using this set of stickers.!!!  I had used up all of the others on the sheet and still had this one.  I also had a piece of Yupo paper that had been used with alcohol inks.  The colors blended pretty well with the flower so I used it.  It looks like I just taped some pieces together......which I did.

PLEASE!  If any of you have any ideas you would like to share with me, I'd really LOVE to hear them.  I could still make some changes or additions to it.

STILL PLAYING WITH ALCOHOL INKS

These cards were made a few days ago.  This time I used alcohol inks on glossy paper and stamped the Penny Black design with Memento black ink.  Then I panicked!  Would it dry?  I waited and it did.  YAY!

For this card I used a different Penny Black design and it was also stamped with Memento black ink before I realized I should have used Staz-On.  To show the difference I stamped the sentiment with Staz-On.   The main reason I don't like to use Staz-On is that it stains the stamps more.

Thank you for coming by today!

One of the cards made on  this  vi.deo used this stamp from the Flowing Flowers set.  This isn't a two-step design and I wasn't sure...
