HAPPY HALLOWEEN CATS

Our oldest granddaughter has turned out to be quite the world traveler.  Right now she is in Italy with a tour group.  When the tour has concluded, she will be traveling alone for 8 days in Europe.  Then she will meet up with a high school friend of hers in Spain.  Her friend is married to a Falcons football team member.

Allissa had messaged me a picture from Italy of a black and white kitty sitting on a wall.  I commented and she told me that part of the tour was on an island that had a lot of cats.  I hadn't opened the Stampin' UP!  "Frightfully Fun" paper pack yet but when I saw the sheet with all of these kitties, I knew immediately how I would make her Halloween card.  I stumbled onto a video of one using this paper. You can see the video HERE.  I finished the outside of mine differently.

Allissa won't be home in time for Halloween, but I am sure she will connect this with the island she had been on in Italy.

I'm not sure where she will be traveling while she is alone, but I am praying for her safety.  If she actually is going to travel in France, I naturally pray that she will avoid all of the turmoil there now.  Her Grandpa and I are nervous about that stretch of time for her.

USING 1/2" STRIPS

Rita Holmes has a Simply Saturday Card each week.  I don't always watch those but I happened to see the one from yesterday.  Since I had a large number of 1/2" strips already that were left from two different 6 x 6 pkgs, I decided to take advantage and use a few of them.  This uses 3 strips that are 1/2' x 4" and 3 strips that are 1/2" x 3".   She didn't weave all of the strips but you can adhere them the way you like.

The "Them Bones" dsp is retired  I was disappointed in this set when I ordered it and have had a hard time making myself work with it.  For this card, the tombstone design is where I started. It is 3 3/4" x 5".   I added it to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock.  I added a die cut ghost but it didn't seem like enough.  One of the sheets has the skeleton designs so I fussy cut the three skeletons and added them to the scene.  See below for the fancy fold I used..

SPOOKY SWEET DSP

Back when this paper was first available, I had decided not to buy it.............until I saw samples made by other crafters.  It is a fun pack of dsp and had two sheets of punch out pieces to use for decorating the scenes.  I added this cute hippo with dimensionals.

SPOOKY TREATS DSP

I have bits and pieces from several retired Stampin' UP! Halloween papers.  I used the basic layout from a card that Julie Davidson had on a YouTube video but changed up the colored background and the focal point.  The dsp is the retired "Spooky Treats".

FALL HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I've missed a couple of days posting cards.  I'm still struggling with the hack we had on our credit card and the fallout from it so I haven't been in the right frame of mind to create.  Since it is Tuesday, I knew I would be tuning in for the weekly video from Rita Holmes.  She was just what I needed this morning because the card below is a result of her inspiration.  Rita did comment that she got the idea from Karen Titus.  I love the way we all share our ideas with each other.

The Cajun Craze strip at the bottom measures 5 1/4" x 3/4".  Dimensionals are added to the strip but only at the left edge and the right edge.  This allows the square on the front to tuck behind it.

If you aren't on Facebook to find her 10/13 video for the .pdf she provides, just send me an email and I can send the .pdf as an attachment for you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I used a Stampin' Up! embossing folder for this very quick card.  Before we left for our trip, I had been working on getting things lined up to make Thanksgiving cards after my Halloween cards were done.  SO.....this is the last card I have made up to show.  I need to get busy and get something made for tomorrow!

Thank you so much for coming by today!

AUTUMN WISHES

Rita Holmes video on Facebook for October 6th was making a card like this.  The base is a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock.  The little piece on the front opens and one of the leaves on the lower right hand area holds the little card shut.  After I finished and took the picture, I sent the card off to a friend we had visited before coming home from our trip.

STORYBOOK FRIENDS

I found the video for this card by Debbie Reed on YouTube.

We just returned home from a trip to Medora ND to see the President Theodore Roosevelt Library.  We loved it!  I may try to share some pictures in a few days  On our way home we naturally had to visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument and Custer State Park.  We knew the Buffalo Roundup had taken place the weekend before but we stopped at the Stockades to watch them as they sorted some of the herd.    We love that area of the country.

I now have enough Thanksgiving cards for one of the care centers.  It sure feels good to have such a big head start on getting them done.  I am now doing cards for only 3 of the 4 centers because it was just getting too hard to get them all done.

Thank you for sticking with me through all of these common themed cards!

ECHO PARK

One thing I like with the Echo Park papers is that they are double sided and that if one side isn't a favorite, the other side usually is.  These cards all use more of the stickers that coordinate.  These are all quick and easy cards to put together.

THANKS A BUNCH

You may have seen earlier cards using this flowered paper from Echo Park.  I think this is one last piece that was on my table.  It pairs great with SU Poppy Parade card stock.  I kept the two pieces that were die cut out of those sections but will have to see what I come up with to use them.
