BEE CARD #3

I love the messages that are included on stickers that come with the 12 x 12 packs of paper.  The bee in the upper right corner is also from one of the sheets.

BEE CARD #2

Another favorite fun fold called the Book Binder.
Card base is 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" and 4 1/4"
DSP is 4" x 4" and coordinating 1" x 4" strip.

I don't usually put something inside the card on the left side.  When I was scoring the 4 1/4" line, my stylus got "off course" and there was a mark that just couldn't be removed.  The piece on the front covered it perfectly so when I saw this dsp piece, I thought it went great with the message on the front. Now no one will ever know except those of you who see it here.  lol

BEE CARD #1

A favorite fold to use.
Card base measures 5 1/2" x 7 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
DSP for front is 3" x 5 1/4"
DSP for inside is a 1" x 5 1/4" strip

I mentioned a few days ago that I was going to be posting more cards for a local organic farm that has bee hives.  She has a little store on their farm and sells items from local vendors.  I was thrilled last summer when she asked me to bring cards there.  I found paper pads from Echo Park with a "Bee" theme and so for much of the month of June, you are going to see what I have made for the store so far.  (Hope you don't get bored.)

STORYBOOK FRIENDS

I think I should have blended some light blue ink in the background for the front of the card.  It feels a little too plain.

Rita Holmes had a video on Facebook for this fancy fold card.  The middle section flips up as shown in the picture below.

I chose this paper for my first try making this card.  The paper is from Echo Park and was from either the "Bee Happy" or "Happy as can Bee" paper pad.  You will be seeing a lot of cards made with this dsp because I am making them to sell at a local organic farm that has bee hives and sells honey.

If you are interested in the directions, leave a comment here or a private message to me on Facebook.  My screenname on Facebook is Vicki Plagmann Boddicker.  I will share the .pdf file she provided.

MAY 27, 1965

Each year when graduations are taking place, my mind always goes back to this date in 1965....my high school graduation. This was just the beginning for us and we're still together after all of these years.  We have truly been blessed.

Tuesday, May 26, 2026

This was a technique Rita Holmes demonstrated on Facebook.
Choose four coordinating papers.
Cut a 2" square of each design
Die cut or punch a 2 1/4" circle of each design.
Square are adhered to a 4" square with no space between them.
Add the circles as shown in the picture and then trim off the excess.
I added a metal "gem" over a twin bow in the middle.
Add that square to a mat measuring 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" and add to your card.

This would also make a great piece to add to a book binder card...........but I forgot to do that.  Below are 2 more cards while I was playing with this idea.

TARYN'S GRADUATION

THEN...........

........AND NOW!
Taryn is the youngest of our six grandchildren.  It is going to be bittersweet watching her graduate from high school today.  I'm sure there are going to be a few tears.

When making cards for the grandchildren, I try really hard to find something other than the standard A2 sized card.  I really struggled but finally found this one on YouTube.  I made my own changes to the decorating but used the measurements for the pieces and used their school colors.

HUES OF HAPPINESS

This is some of my favorite papers from Stampin' UP!  I've gone through almost an entire package but when it was available, I purchased a second package!  I've decided it's time to start letting go of some  things.  I offered the entire second package along with the stamps and dies on Marketplace and hope to sell them as a bundle.

I packaged up the remaining paper that I have (24 sheets 6 x 6) and listed them on Marketplace.  These will hopefully be my final cards with this paper.

BLACKBERRY BEAUTY DSP

This sheet of dsp is so "busy" that I kept it very simple.  I added the sentiment with a gold foil leave and that was all I did.

BLACKBERRY BEAUTY DSP

Finding new papers is always a temptation, but buying them and then let them  pile up in my supplies ends up to be a waste of money if I don't actually use them.  So........I am really concentrating on using designer papers that I already have.  I've made that decision before but get distracted when I see something new that I just have to have.  With the prices of these supplies increasing, there is less incentive to buy more when I already have so much!  (I guess that's a good thing.)  The only thing I "need" to restock now and then is the solid colored card stock to coordinate with all of the dsp I have.

PLAYING IN THE RAIN

Yesterday I made the decision to pull out something other than flowers and my typical supplies.  It was so much fun doing something a little light-hearted that I pulled out this dsp and made another "fun" card.  There are so many characters on a couple of the sheets and it was time to give them life.

This has ben a fun layout to use while trying to use up the rest of this dsp.  There will be a couple more cards with this paper later.  There isn't much of this paper left.
