TWO REPEAT CARDS USING SCRAPS

Some months ago, I made cards like this using the same papers but thought it would be fun for my two friends to see what can be done with scraps.  These scraps were from Flowers for Every Season pack.  Actually if you don't have scraps, you can use a 1 inch punch and just punch out a bunch of pieces from different sheets and have fun.

This card uses some 1" squares but also pieces that are 1" x 2".   Before adding the last piece on the lower right, I added ribbon around the white layer.  The last dsp piece was added with dimensionals on top of the ribbon.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY SISTER AND BIL

At the time I am posting this I think I will use this card to send my sister and he husband for their wedding anniversary.

I started by adding a strip of the Stampin' Up! Expressions in Ink dsp. to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Pear Pizzaz card stock.  I piece of white card stock was then cut into two pieces angling the cut and mounted with foam squares.  The flower and leaves were stamped and cut out.  Leaves were added to the flower with a dot of Tombow glue.  A dimensional was added to the set of two leaves but then the area of the flower and single leaf had just glue on the back.  I might still add some gold die cut pieces to step it up a bit.

BLACK AND WHITE CARD & LINED ENVELOPE

Both of my friends love black and white cards.  I really like this one too.  The idea came from a video I watched using black and white dsp.  I used a different stamped design for on the solid black panel.  The stamp is from the Fabulous Floret stamp set.  I stamped the design with VeraMark and then heat embossed with white powder.  I had prepared that piece already for my friends to use on their cards too.

I have a die to cut the lining for envelopes but I don't do it often enough.  See the picture below for how the card opens.

If you're careful there is room to stamp a sentiment that will be directly behind the panel on the front and that leaves plenty of room for you to write a message on the lower half.  You could also write on the back of the front.

STAMPIN' UP! - Flower and Field fun fold

This was different than any of the fun folds I've done before.  I used a strip of dsp from the Flower & Field paper pack and Pool Party card stock.

Using Pool Party ink, the flower was stamped off once and then onto the white card piece for the front.  Then the sentiment was stamped on top of the flower.  I like the look.  Sometimes I stamp a "praying hands" design inside a sympathy card using this method and then stamping a sentiment over it.

The white layer inside the card is the same size as the white card stock on the outside.  Although this card is OK and it does stand on it's own, it doesn't provide much of a place to write inside so I'm not sure I'll be making more like it.

STAMPIN' UP - Mosaic Mood dsp #6

#6

There are a lot of cards that are made using strips of paper scraps for the focal point of the card.  I didn't have to use scraps for this one because that is the way the dsp was designed.  I simply cut a piece of it, matted it first with Just Jade card stock and then again on Petal Pink card stock before adding it to the white card base.

This was another card that I made with my two friends.  Tomorrow I'll show another card we made using the idea from a video I had watched.

UPDATE ON A PREVIOUS POST

June 3rd I posted this card and someone had asked me who made that die.  At the time I couldn't find it for the life of me.  I found it yesterday between packages of designer paper.  (I have no idea how it ended up there.)

The die is from LDRS Creative.  It is called "Barber Stripes"  (LDRSCreative.com) .  It is made in the USA!

Sorry it took me so long but as soon as I found it I put it on my craft table by my computer so that I could publish this post about it.

STAMPIN' UP! - Mosaic Mood dsp #5

This is another card that my friends saw and said they would like to make.  We have gotten together two times now and this was one of the ones we did the second time.  Gradually you will be seeing all of the cards we have done together.

I hope you will come back again on Monday for one last card (for the time being) using this designer paper.  Thank you for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Mosaic Mood dsp #3

#3

When I showed this card to my friends who come and make cards with me, they said it was one they'd like to make too.  I still need to make up the kits for this one for our next get together.  This dsp is growing on me.

STAMPIN' UP! - Mosaic Mood dsp #2

#2

After checking out Pinterest for ideas, I really dug into the papers from this paper pack.  I saw one like this and really liked it and so I CASED it.  (I'm not a real imaginative person but I sure can CASE what others do.)

I was able to use a butterfly and flower from pieces that I had already cut.  Please come back tomorrow and see the next project.  Thank you for coming by today.

STAMPIN' UP - A Week using Mosaic Mood dsp

#1

I purchased several of the new Stampin' Up! designer papers and have been having fun with them.  However, I also still have papers from previous catalogs that really need to be cut up and used.  Anyone else?  I've been trying really hard to go back and forth between old and new.

The Mosaic Mood dsp was a little harder for me to use when I first got it.  I think I bought it because of a card I saw using a variety of the designs for vases and I had the SU stamps for the vase as well. As time has passed I was seeing more and more examples of how to use the papers on Pinterest.

The hummingbird and flowers were fussy cut from some of the sheets.  That made it a lot easier to get some of it used up.  I like the way this one came out even though it was pretty much a CASE I saw on Pinterest......not my own creation.

2 QUICK AND EASY CARDS

This pretty paper had been on my table for a long time.  It was a from a paper pad that needed to be used up or discarded.  I wasn't really fond of many of the designs but this one was too pretty to pitch. It also happened to work well with one of the Stampin' Up! card stock colors.

I really don't remember where this designer paper came from but it sure could be Stampin' Up! because it appears to be Blushing Bride for color.  I wanted to use it in a similar way.  I also happened to have a small scrap of SU Blushing Bride ribbon on my table so I did a little "flag" of it under the white piece with the sentiment.

Two more card pieces used!  Thank you for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - 2 Cards Using the Tailored Tag Punch

I have seen a lot of cards using the Tailored Tag Punch and decided to buy it.....not just to make this type of card but to use it for sentiments.  Most of the cards I had seen used multiple patterns of paper, but for my first try I decided to use pieces that were all alike..  The floral paper that I punched is not from Stampin' Up! but was on my table for a long time so I decided to experiment with it.  I punched 8 of the flower design and 1 of the ivory card stock.

I started by adding the middle one first and then gradually adding the other pieces.  Naturally some were much too big but the edges were then trimmed off.  I discovered that I needed to trim down the entire piece because it wasn't quite centered and then added it to a second Soft Suede mat.  By doing that everything was too big for an A2 card.  I have some ivory card bases and envelopes from Michael's and used one of those for the card base.

Now that I had the idea of how to put these pieces together, I experimented with some of the SU Hand-Penned Petals papers.  I love the colors.  You may notice that a little more of the pieces around the edges show up on this card.  The pieces were put together first on a piece of white card stock before adding the trimmed piece down on the Misty Moonight card base.

This style of card can be made using all kinds of shapes.  It's probably best if you arrange the on the table first until you are satisfied of the combination.   Just start in the middle and start adding them to a piece of white or coordinating card stock that is larger than a card base.  After they are all adhered, then trim it down to the size you want.

STAMPIN' UP! - Fine Art Floral dsp

Book Binder Card

One of the videos I had watched a few weeks ago made a card like this and used the "negative" part of the "just want to say".  I think she may have even used the same papers but not sure.  This was an easy card that went together very quickly.  This was a third card I made with my friends.

If you use the "negative" part of the die cut, be sure to save the small pieces for some of the letters.  It's a little fussy to add them back in to complete the look but worth it.

I've made this type of card before and sometimes use the reverse side of the dsp/coordinating dsp for the small strip.  And I have added ribbon to that section at times wrapping it around the area before adding the adhesive to stick the section together.

STAMPIN' UP! - Fine Art Floral dsp

As I mentioned yesterday, I had made up kits of cards to make with my friends.  This was one of the very simple cards we did although the kit did not include the gold acetate that can be used over the beautiful dsp.  Between the Painted Texture embossing folder and the lovely dsp, the card didn't need much else.  We chose to put a sentiment only on the inside.

STAMPIN' UP! - Boho Medley

Double Easel Card

One of my very favorite designer series papers that Stampin' Up! has had is the Boho Indigo dsp.  Blue is my favorite color and the shades in this release just called out to me.  You have already seen cards I made using these papers and you'll see many more in the future.  I have a lot of that paper on hand and I'm not hoarding it......I'm using it!

A few weeks ago I had invited two of my friends to come and play.  It was the first time we felt it was really safe since late in 2018 for all three of us to be together.  I had made up 15 card kits for each of us and we had so much fun putting them together.

STAMPIN' UP! - 2 Avant-Garden

The two colors I used are Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and just a touch of Crushed Curry for the centers of the flowers.  Popping the flower in the foreground adds some nice dimension to the card.

STAMPIN' UP! - Ornate Garden dsp

Last night I started watching a video but it was about 1 1/2 hours long so I finished watching it this morning.  During the video she did make four card.  The first one is one I'm going to try to CASE but it will take some time.  After the first two she decided to make a quick and easy card.

This card was started with a traditional top fold card base.  I chose a different paper from the same paper pack as she did.  The reverse side of the floral design is the narrow strip that I used.  I then stamped two of the cute little flower on the front of the card and wanted to color them with the SU blenders.  Since I'm aware that alcohol base markers will bleed through the paper I did take a small scrap of the same paper and then scribbled with the small tip of the So Saffron blender.  No bleeding.

I then started coloring the flowers very lightly and wouldn't you know the color did bleed through!  I proceeded to then color the leaves and stem very carefully using Mossy Meadow.  I knew it would bleed through as well but it also expanded outside the lines!  Fortunately I had just received the SU Color Lifter and was able to "push" the expanded green back.

After all of that I knew I had to cut off the front of the card and trim it down.  It was then added with  foam squares to a new card base.  There was still a sign of the green along the stems but I was able to cover the worst of it with the little yellow bow.  Project finished.  It was supposed to be quick and easy but in the end I like the idea of the piece being popped up on the card base.

Thank you for coming by today!  Hope you are having a great weekend.

STAMPIN' UP! - Perennial Essence dsp

This card is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest.  I loved the soft colors and had the supplies I needed to make one.  The vellum was punched using the two Stampin' Up! daisy punches and then colored with the Petal Pink Blender marker.

UPDATED CARD

When I first made this card, I had added the die cut piece and just left it the way it was.  The die cut says it all, but I wanted to add a small sentiment to the front.  I used one of the Stampin' Up! punches to the left side of the tag.

STAMPIN' UP! - Fine Art Floral dsp

I don't think this card needs much explanation.  It's another one that I was able to use a piece of the gold acetate over the dsp.  Matted twice - once with Old Olive and then again with Petal Pink before adding it to the white card base.

STAMPIN' UP! - TWOFER DAY

I forgot to post the card I had wanted to use yesterday so today you get Monday and Tuesday at the same time.

Once again, the Stampin' Up! designer paper "makes the card"  This paper is from the "Expressions in Ink" designer paper pack.

And this paper is from the "Fine Art Floral" designer paper pack with a piece of the coordinating gold acetate over the top of the dsp.  (I forgot to crop the picture.)

TWO STAMPIN' UP SYMPATHY CARDS

The card above and the one below were ideas that I got from Pinterest.  I really liked the "swish" stamped several times and the sentiment over the top.  I used a stamp from the Stampin' UP! Forever Fern set on the first one.  On the card below I used the tree from the Stampin' Up! Lovely As A Tree stamp set.

STAMPIN' UP! - 3 More Hydrangea Hill DSP

I got the idea for these three cards from Pinterest.  I love the papers in this pack.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Aren't these birds cute?  I've had the stamp set for a while and just hadn't inked it up.  The littlest bird was cut out and pop...
