MEMORY BOX - Wild Blooms

All of the beautiful dies that are available have definitely become my "vice" so recently I started pulling some out that I hadn't used in a while.  I had this blue card stock on my table from another project and decided it would make a good one to use with the Wild Blooms die.  I love how easy it is to use this one and have a pretty card in no time.

I used this card along with some others to use as a gift to a lady who stepped up filling in for the lady who usually trims my hair.  It brought a smile and she said she will use them to send memorials to the Ronald McDonald House.......one of which will be in memory of my mother-in-law.

It's really hard to believe but tomorrow will be March 1st.  Spring isn't that far off now.  Thank you for coming by today.

IN MEMORY...........

I've been absent from my blog since February 16.  My husband's mother has been in a care center for nearly 3 years but was "called home" on February 19.  She would have been 98 on February 23.  She was a hard worker and could work circles around me....a good lady!  Our children and grandchildren were so fortunate to have known her and her love for them.  Since then there have been various duties that needed our attention and it just seemed inappropriate for me to be posting blog entries.

In addition today is the fourth anniversary of a dear friend who passed.

Today's card is for my mother-in-law and my friend.

Thank you for coming by today!

PENNY BLACK - Iris

A few days ago I showed three cards that used this pretty Penny Black stamp but done in yellow.  I made this additional card using lavender.  I don't think it shows but I did add some clear Wink of Stella to the bloom and bud for a little shimmer.

When the card is closed the white liner of the card shows through the punched edge.

Thanks for coming by today!

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS - Mini Triplet Infinity #4

I think this card is the most striking of the four I've made so a far.  I really like the colors behind the black die cut.

Thank you for stopping by each day.  I hope you know that when you leave a comment, I truly appreciate it!

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS - Mini Triplet Infinity #3

Today's card isn't exactly what you'd expect on this holiday, but since I had already shown you the Valentine cards I made, this is what I had to show.

This is another alcohol ink piece behind the black die cut.  The colors were done by one of my granddaughters and aren't actually quite as dark as the picture appears.  This was one half of the ink covered Yupo paper.  The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn (a Canadian company).  Tomorrow I'll show you the other half which is my favorite.

Thank you for coming by today - and I hope you all have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS - Mini Triplet Infinity #2

Today's card features the same die but in a vertical position.  I had a small piece on my table that had been colored with alcohol inks.  Since there were portions that had a "rust" hue, I found a piece of Stampin' Up! Dusty Durango card stock that blended well with the alcohol inks.  Mounting it on white card stock just wasn't going to do it justice so I attached it to an ivory base.  I stamped the vertical "Happy Birthday" with Dusty Durango ink.

If you're interested, be sure to come back tomorrow for another version of this design.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS - Mini Triplet Infinity

Last week I mentioned that I would be posting some cards that I made with this die.  This is the most simple of the four.  I really like the back and white.

Since I don't think this will need any further explanation, I'll leave it at that.  Tomorrow I will show another card using this design.

Thank you for coming by today!

SEVERAL VALENTINE CARDS

Since I hadn't posted something every day I though I would end the week showing the rest of the Valentines I made.  Besides the 97 my friends and I made together, I made an additional 26 for the grandchildren and friends.

These are some of the Valentines that my husband and I send to people that we know personally in the Independent Living Center and the Care Center.  To begin I embossed 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" pieces with either a heart folder or the dotted swiss.  I used a Memory Box die for the first card and then a set of dies from Spellbinders for the other five.

The Spellbinders set includes two large hearts and two smaller hearts.  The large hearts can be used separately.  The two smaller hearts can be inserted in the center of the open large hearts and run through the die cutting machine.  And the two smaller hearts can be used in either of the large dies.  You will see below #2 and #3 use the same large item but then different inserts for the design.

#1 (Memory Box die)

#2

#3

#4 I popped a smaller heart in the opening

The next two cards used the second large die and with the different inserts.

#5

#6

Today I actually took the time to make four cards.  It felt really good to do something besides Valentines.  All four cards use the same die but I will post them individually next week for you to see.

THANK YOU FOR COMING BY TODAY!

HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY, TUCKER!

When possible, I try to make cards that are personal for our grandchildren.  Our "favorite and only" Grandson, Tucker, has been playing basketball in a "league" for the past few weeks so I wanted to do something around that theme.

I have (or maybe had) a Stampin' Up! set that has stamps for several sports.  I remembered that there was a basketball and a hoop.  Do you think I could find it?  I don't remember selling it but that is a possibility.  Desperation set in so I turned to Pinterest.  I combined the idea from two different cards that I saw.  The lines on the "ball" don't show up very well in the picture but my husband said "it is close enough".   Hmmmm......not a very strong endorsement.  I hope Tucker knows what the circle is supposed to be.  But my husband also added, "He'll be more interested in the check that is inside."  Probably true!

Tax preparations are coming along so I hope to be back to making some new cards very soon.  Thanks for coming by today!

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
