SORRY

I'm sorry there is no post today or maybe tomorrow.  My computer is with my "computer doctor" and hopefully he can find out what is causing all the problems.  In the meantime I am borrowing my husband's laptop but all of my pictures are on my computer.  Hope you will keep checking because I will be back.

AWASH WITH FLOWERS

The SU stamp set is retired but when one of my friends decided she would sell her set, I made the purchase.  I haven't used it for awhile but this card was made for a color swap (Light Blue and Olive).  I used Marina Mist and Old Olive.  The
in appears to be a lot lighter than the card stock I used, but I'm sure I used the same ink color.

Thank you for stopping by!

STAMPIN' UP! - Just Believe

When I attended an SU Workshop a few years ago, we made a card with this stamp set.  By the time I decided I wanted to purchase it, it had been discontinued.  I have seen cards since then made using it and decided to go "on the hunt" for it.  The prices on eBay were more than I wanted to pay but I was fortunate to find one from another SU demonstrator for only $10!!!

This is the first card I made with it and I used it for a monthly Artist's Choice card swap.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Hope you had a great weekend!

*NEW* STAMPIN' UP! WASHI TAPE

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!!

I hope all of you are having a great holiday weekend!

When I saw the preview items for the new SU catalog, there were certain items that demonstrators could order early.  I liked the new In Colors so I ordered the new inks, markers, card stock and of course this Washi tape.  I really like this combination of tapes!

This was the first card I made with it but.............

then I made this one and I like it even better.  I have a feeling you'll be seeing more cards from me made with Washi tape designs.  They are fun to work with and can be combined in so many different ways.

What do you think of the new SU Washi Tape "A Cherry on Top"?  It really makes a "happy" card with the bright colors.

Thanks for stopping by today!

ONE LAST CARD PART

Well, it isn't the last card part I have to use but it's the last one I'll be posting for awhile.  This card base was embossed with a Cuttlebug Anna Griffin design.  It is a beautiful bird surrounded by flowers but for some reason I can't distinguish the bird's head in the picture.......I promise it's there.   I circled a piece of the white organdy ribbon around the inside and taped it down.  Then I took a second piece of the ribbon and tied a know with it to add with a glue dot.

USING "STICKY STUFF"

When I was in Des Moines a couple years ago, I saw a card using "Sticky Stuff" and glitter.  The card was beautiful!  Eventually I bought a jar of it and experimented using it on this design.  The picture doesn't show it off very well but the wheat is very glittery.  It was finally time to put it to use.

EMBOSSED CARD BASE

Still another piece that was not getting used.  Once I had embossed the front of the card I didn't know where to go with it so I stuck it in one of my card part baskets.    I decided to cut the front of the card base off and trim it down to mount it on a Pink card base.  One of our granddaughters had used one of these embossed pieces and she had colored in all of the flowers with markers so I decided to just add some Yellow and Pink centers to them.  Then I stamped a "happy birthday", trimmed it down and cut the ends to make a tag.  Another very quick card!

BIRD HOUSES CARD PART

I don't even remember when I colored this one but it has been a long time ago.  I found it in my card part basket.  We have a lot of birds coming to our feeders right now so I decided this was one I wanted to use right away.  The card base is SU Tempting Turquoise with a strip of Tempting Turquoise dp.  I matted the birdhouse design with a brown card stock.  It took so little time to make use of the piece and now it can go to someone who enjoys the birds as much as we do.

USING A CARD PART

These stamped flowers have been in one of my baskets for quite awhile.  Last week when I started pulling some of them out I decided this one should get used.  I trimmed down the piece and matted with Wild Wasabi card stock.  I used a dabber to add ink to the strip behind it.  I noticed a small smudge off to the side of the far left flower so I quickly added a punched butterfly.

SHARING HOARDED DAISIES

Do any of you buy items that you just love but that can't find it in yourself to actually use them because you don't want to no longer have them?  Well these daisies are some that I bought several years ago and have been having a hard time making myself use them to share on a card to someone.  These aren't actually card parts but they are things that need to be used.

The card base was in my card parts and had been embossed with this lovely design but I thought it needed something I used two of the daisies here.

Three more daisies......................

and although this card looks white in the picture, the card base is a soft ivory since these four flowers had ivory petals.

OK - so now these flowers have found their way to cards.  How long will I hold on to the cards before I actualy share them with someone?????  Let them go!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll have more cards using card parts next week.

COLORING ON AN EMBOSSED DESIGN

NOTE:  I was in the middle of preparing this post yesterday when my computer crashed and I couldn't get back on all day.  Hopefully this will make it today.

My friend, Lynette, has been going through old stamp sets and using every one of them.  She has also been using some card parts that she had and that inspired me to get into mine today.  Below are two cards I made today using pieces that had been embossed some time ago with a retired Stampin' Up! folder.  I got the idea from Pinterest.

Using Stampin Up Real Red as the main color.  I dabbed bits of color onto the embossed image using a small sponge dabber.

Next I used the Marina Mist and I like this one even better.  These two embossed items were both in my "pieces" just waiting for inspiration.  Thank you to who (www.stampingville.com) posted one on Pinterest!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

2 CARDS USING STAMPIN' UP! - Hello Doily

I used SU Pick a Petal set to stamp and trim to give the look of flower petals on the doily.  The Butterflly is from a Memory Box die.  The pink is very light so I decided to make a second card like this................

but for tis one I used Daffodil Delight dp for the petals.  Have a great day and thank you for coming by!

STAMPIN' UP! - Hello Doily

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday!  I didn't get to see my mother yesterday but she had preferred that I go see her today and enjoy the Mother's Day Brunch they are having where she lives.  I'm leaving shortly to run errands but wanted to get this posted before I leave.  I did get to see both of our daughters though.

Last week I got out the Stampin' Up! Hello Doily and decided to make some cards using it.  I started by cutting a piece of white card stock to 4" x 5 1/4" and then stamped the design with VersaMark and heat embossed it with Opaque White powder.

The Summer Starfruit ink was added using a dabber - always starting at the center and working my way out each time giving the design a nice bright center.  I used the Summer Starfruit card stock with a Memory Box butterfly die and then finished by stamping the sentiment before adding it to the card base.

STAMPIN' UP! - Kinda Eclectic

This is similar to one on Pinterest.  I changed up the colors (black and SU Daffodil Delight) and instead of a tag with a sentiment, I stamped the sentiment on the white layer in the upper left corner.  This will be fun to do again in a variety of colors.  I didn't think I wanted this set but the more I saw cards being made with it I knew I could make good use of it.

Wishing you all a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all of you!  Hope you'll come back again next week.

UPDATED STAMPIN' UP! - Sheltering Tree

I didn't have anything new to post today so I decided to show you a card that I updated.  After posting this card a few days ago, I received the Stampin' Up! "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set.  I decided to add the yellow stamped design up in the corner to give the look of a sunny day.  I'd seen some other cards using that stamp as a sun so it wasn't an original idea but I really like the result.

I'll try to have something for you again tomorrow.......but thanks for coming today!

BUTTERFLIES IN FLIGHT

A few weeks ago I received this card from my friend, Harriet.  She knows how much I love butterflies.  A few days later I decided I would try to CASE it with some butterfly stamps that I have and used very similar colors -- inks from Stampin' Up!...................here is my "version" of her card...........

I'm not as pleased with my card because my butterflies were maybe a bit to big to do it, but it was fun anyway.  I had never done a raised "die cut word" like that before either so it was a new technique for me to try.

This got posted a little late in the day but once again I've been working on clearing out items for a Stamp Sale which will be May 15-16.  There just aren't enough hours in the day lately.

Thanks for coming by!

NOTE:  I thought I should clarify how the "happy" is done.  After the layer with the butterflies was stamped, I die cut the "happy" from that layer.  Then I cut two more from white card stock and adhered them all together on top of each other with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.  The layered die cuts were then added back onto the card so it is popped.

STAMPIN' UP! STARS FOR THE GRADUATE

Our school district school colors are blue and gold so I used gold foil card stock for two of the stars.  The actual card does look better than in the picture, but.....

I then brought out some gold glitter paper and REALLY like this one!  The stars are a great way to make a very attractive card that is quick and easy!  And I have a stamp that goes with it perfectly for the inside:  "Graduate...As you follow your dreams.....Reach for the stars!"  I think I can safely say that this is probably going to be the card I make for most graduates in the future.

NOTE:  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I had a good sentiment for the inside of that one too:  "Hats Off to the Graduate".

Thanks for checking in again today!

MAY MEANS GRADUATION CARDS

I hope you all had a great weekend.  We tried out a new place to eat in the Amana Colonies (we live only 8 miles away).  Sunday was VERY busy.  My husband started his day by attending the first of three games at a tournament where one of our granddaugters was playing.  He couldn't stay for the rest because we needed to attend a graduation party which was a brunch and ended at Noon.  From the party we went directly to a dance recital where three of our grandchildren participated.  We really enjoy having the opportunity to enjoy so many activities for all six of the grandkids.

This year we have invitations for five graduation parties plus I am making cards for three others.  Three of the graduates will get a card like this made with the school colors - blue and gold.

Be sure to come back tomorrow.  I have two versions of another graduation card to post.

Thanks for stopping by!

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY CARDS

Yesterday I slipped up and didn't get a card posted so today I'm going to show you two.  The card below is one I made for a Pink and Black color card swap on a Yahoo Group.  I don't think the recipient has received the card yet since she lives in Canada.  I've been so busy getting a really big selection of items ready for a stamp sale and haven't actually made anything for several days so she may see this on my blog first.

The cardstock used was Stampin' Up! Pink Passion and Black and the butterflies were made with the two SU punches.   The border above and below the butterflies is from a Martha Stewart punch.

This card was simply made with left over pieces from the die cuts I made with the PapertreyInk Mighty Bloom die.  I hated to waste any of the leftover pieces.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope to have time to make something new for next week.

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
