CARD FOR MOTHER'S DAY

Today's card was made using papers from the KaiserCraft "English Rose" 6 x 6 paper pad.  A link to the card: Card for Mother's Day.

The layers were cut using dies from the Quickutz Nesting Diamonds set.  You can find the die set here: Creating Everlasting Memories The sentiment is from Paper Inspirations and was stamped with VersaMark and then heat embossed using Egyptian Gold embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by...............hope you find something you can use and come back again soon.

MOTHER

With Mother's Day less than two weeks away, I wanted to get a few cards made and posted here.  Since the problem with BlogSpot has not yet been solved, I am putting a link here:  Mother

The designer papers for this card are from a KaiserCraft 6 x 6 pad "Utopia".  I love the colors in this pad.  I stamped the sentiment from Paper Inspirations on to white card stock and then cut and embossed it using one of the Spellbinders Labels 10 dies.  The butterfly from Flora Doodles was popped on to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by....................hope you will come back again soon.

IT'S BRIGHT - PUT ON YOUR SUNGLASSES

It appears my picture may not show again, so here is a link:  Yellow and Orange Card Swap

The Yahoo group which I belong to had a color swap this month using orange and yellow.  I debated about joining the swap because I wasn't sure what I would make.  I had these flowers that I had made from a friend's die last summer when we met in Des Moines.  I added the orange glitter glue.  From there I decided to use the large Spellbinders Labels 17 die to cut the two layers.  A strip of orange dotted swiss ribbon was wrapped around the white layer before attaching it to the orange layer.  Then I arranged the flowers - popping the middle one with pop dots.
I knew I wanted to add a butterfly but the yellow one by itself just didn't quite do it for me so I layered a smaller orange on top with orange glue dots on the body.  I love using punched butterflies along with the sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly.

My friend, Joyce, was the group member who received this card and I was so pleased to hear she is going to use it to send to a neighbor who could use some cheer.

I imagine many of you will be busy tomorrow getting ready for Easter dinner.  May you have a very Blessed Easter Sunday!  Thank you for stopping by.

LINK TO BUTTERFLY SUITE CARD

I am still having trouble getting any picture to show up on my blog page so I decided to give you a link to the picture instead:  BUTTERFLY SUITE PICTURE.  Hopefully this will work until things start working right again.

PENNY BLACK Butterfly Suite

(NOTE:  When I posted this listing, the picture did not seem to show up on my page.  If you are not seeing the picture, click around under the "Y" of butterfly and it may bring the picture up for you.  I don't know why this is happening.)

Recently I purchased this new Penny Black stamp.  It was such a pretty design and I was hoping I could do it justice.

The front of the card was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots but only a single row of the dots show.  The first time I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink but it seemed to be too dark when I tried to color it.  Then I tried a Hero Arts Shadow Soft Brown ink......and it was too light.  On my third try I went back to Memento and used Rich Cocoa.......and it was just right.  (Is this starting to sound like the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears?)

The image was then colored with Copic CIAO markers, the layer trimmed and the corners punched.  It was then added to a layer of  SU Wild Wasabi card stock with the corners punched as well.  After I had the layers added to the front of the card, I decided it needed just a little sparkle so I dotted the centers of the flowers and parts of the butterflies with my Quickie Glue Pen and sprinkled with Clear Glitter from Hero Arts.

(Supplies I can get for you:  Penny Black, Copic CIAO and Sketch markers and Glue Pens.)

Thank you for stopping by.............I'm sorry my posts have been so irregular lately.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANDREA

Yesterday was the birthday of a friend, Andrea.  She did receive her card on time.  The stamps I used were PTI "Up, Up and Away" along with the die that is sold separately.  I also had some clouds that had been cut with a die from someone and not sure what company made that particular die.

First I cut out the white pieces of card stock with the hot air balloon die.  They were each stamped with either Green Galore, Real Red or Yo Yo Yellow and Chocolate Chip ink.  Card stock was also from SU.

Thank you for stopping by!

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR GEORGIA

This past Thursday my friend, Georgia, had a birthday and I'm afraid I was late getting the card to her.  Since I know she has seen it now, I wanted to share it here on the blog.  The idea was not original.  I saw a card very similar to this somewhere.  Mine is different in that I used four different butterflies and instead of adding a green layer, I edged the top layer with green ink.  I also added crystal glitter to the butterflies which doesn't show up very good in the photo.

Supplies used:  PTI stamps, SU Pretty in Pink and Green Galore inks, VersaFine Black Onyx ink for the sentiment and SU Pretty in Pink card stock.

I'm always happy to answer any questions about cards posted here.  so thank you  for stopping by.............hope you come again soon and tell me what you think of the projects.

PENNY BLACK - Flowers for Mimi

I've been pre-occupied with several different things lately - one of which is watching the Eagle Cam which is here in Northeastern Iowa.  If you have a minute or two (or more)it has been a lot of fun watching three baby American Eagles hatch and the adult eagles caring for them.

OK.......it's time I get back in gear here.  Yesterday I received a new shipment of Penny Black stamps and this one just had to be the first one I used.  The birds aren't Eagles but with some pretty birds returning after the winter we have had, this stamp just made me happy.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Copic Makers. One thing I like about Penny Black stamps is that the picture on the top of the wood mounted stamps are often colored - making it so easy to get it colored unless you want to change the color combination.  After coloring the image, I cut it out an embossed it with the Spellbinders Labels 1 die.

The paper I chose was pure luck for color and design.  When coloring with Copic Markers, I might have been smarter to pick out the paper and then choose the marker colors to go with the paper.......I lucked out on this one.

I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder to make the dots at the top and bottom of the white cardstock, leaving a space for the Basic Grey turquoise paper that I had edged with a Martha Stewart punch.

It doesn't show very well, but I did make scored lines above and below each of the embossed areas.  And because the layer with the image is white, I took the Copic CIAO B00 marker that I had used on the birds and edged just the right side of the Label 1 layer.

If you are interested, I do sell the Penny Black Stamps, the Spellbinders dies, Memento inks and Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by..............I hope to get items posted more often.  I always appreciate your comments!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOANNE!

My friend, Joanne, is celebrating her birthday today and this is the card I sent her.  She should be getting it in the mail today so I hope I'm not spoiling a surprise.

The card is very simple.  I used a new embossing folder from Crafts Too and then added a glittery rub-on butterfly to the card.  This is a really pretty embossing folder that you can get at CropStop.com.

Thank you for stopping by and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOANNE!

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
