STAMPIN' UP! - Bewitched

A few weeks ago I saw a video from Susan Campfield.  She demonstrated how to make this card so that the feet would sway back and forth.  You can see the video HERE.  It's so easy to make and so cute!  I made five of these for granddaughters.  I didn't think our grandson would appreicate it so he will receive a card with a different design.

Inside, I used the purple dsp to make a pocket for the cash that I include on the cards I send them.

HALLOWEEN "Privacy Screen"

A few weeks ago Lisa Curcio demonstrated a card like this.  You can see the video HERE.  Notice how the bottom of the card appears to have "legs".....making it look like a privacy screen.  Lisa cut all of her pieces and then blended the colors onto each panel.  I decided to cut a piece of card stock that was 9" inches x 4 1/4".  This gave me the exact amount I would need to cut into 4 equal panels and it gave a more accurate flow of the colors from one to the next.  I used dies that I had on hand.  The landscape at the bottom of the first two panels is actually one die cut but worked perfectly to cut in half.  This was a really fun card to make and it fits perfectly in an A2 envelope.

USING PAPER PUMPKIN KIT - 2 cards and a treat box

I made four boxes like this one.  It was decorated different than the one I posted earlier for a granddaughter.  There are four special little kids who come to our house trick or treating so I am making up little metal buckets for them with special treats inside.  A friend our family used to do this for our daughters when they were little so I am paying it forward.

TIME FOR HALLOWEEN CARDS

The die used for this design is from DieVersions. When I pulled out my Halloween tote of supplies, I discovered I had cut a few of these last year.  They were cut with Pumpkin Pie card stock but then I used a black marker to color the spider web and crow.  In my stash of retired Halloween papers, I found some with the crows as part of the design.....and below that card has spiders and spider webs as part of the design.  How perfect!

Since I had several sheets of these designs, my friends and I decided to make more die cuts and use the papers for one of the designs we use for cards to one of the care centers.

BEAUTY OF THE EARTH - All for now

The die cut leaves are not from Stampin' Up! but I really liked them on this card.  Thank you for coming by today!

BEAUTY OF THE EARTH - 2 cards

I may have posted a card like this when I first got this paper.  It is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest.

I used Cinnamon Cider card stock for the card base and the tree for this card.  When I look at the lower left corner of this and concentrate on the darker colors, I can almost imagine that those are people sitting under the tree.

BEAUTY OF THE EARTH - In Blue

This sheet of dsp in the package is so different than the other pieces with the typical Fall colors.  My favorite color is blue so these were particularly fun for me to make.  The tree and birds are from the coordinating bundle of stamps and dies.  The line of trees at the bottom of the second card are from an SU punch and were already in my card parts.

BEAUTY OF THE EARTH - Fall Leaves

This was a very CAS card to make.  I added the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of dsp to the card base.  Then I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock with a retired Hero Arts stamp.  I trimmed it down and then matted it with a piece of Early Espresso card stock.  I added the sentiment piece with dimensionals.

BEAUTY OF THE EARTH - Sympathy Card

This was a CASE but I used a branch die from my Memory Box "collection" and a label die from Spellbinders.

STAMPIN' UP! - Sun Prints 12 x 12 dsp

A very simple layout.  I cut a square approximately 4" x 4" and then cut it in half diagonally.  This gave me enough to make two cards. It was just a little too big.  I placed it on the white card base so the points would come to the two left corners. A narrow piece had to be trimmed.  One of the die cuts was from some of the dsp and the other from card stock.

The dsp for this card was 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and cut at an angle.  Once again this gave me enough for two cards.  The die cuts were from dsp and card stock.

The sequins on both card were colored with SU blender pens.  Thank you for coming by today!

HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY

My friend, Carol, and her husband are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary today.  This is the card I made for them.  The floral design was cut with a Memory Box die (Wildflower Corner) and a glitter paper that is almost a champagne color.  (The gold glitter paper I had was just a bit over the top.)

The ivory card stock that I used for the base is light weight so I added the same size layers inside to give the card some good support.

CASING POOTLES PAPERCRAFT VIDEO

I CASED this card from THIS video.  I changed up the sentiment and added a little bird.  I wasn't sure what the Cherry Cobbler die cut was supposed to be but it kind of reminded me of a "burning bush" plant.

STAMPIN' UP! - Beauty of the Earth dsp

One of the sheets in this package had rows of this particular design.  I made three cards using the trees this way.  It's such a CAS card but I really do like it.  Over the next few days there will be more cards made from this dsp package.  It's perfect for this time of year.  I hope you'll come back to check them out.

USING BEAUTIFUL WRAPPING PAPER

About eight or nine years ago at a gathering of several friends at Archivers in Des Moines, the ladies at the store had a card class for us using this beautiful wrapping paper.  There were also butterfly dimensional stickers that we used.  I loved the cards we came up with so I purchased another section of the wrapper paper, as well as more of the pastel card stock, stickers and ribbons.  As is the case many times, these items went on a shelf in my craft room and were not getting used.  In my effort to start pulling out things like this, I made six cards.  Only five are posted because there are two with the die cut butterfly.

I hope you will keep your eye out for some pretty papers and give it a try.  The paper did need to be added using double sided tape.  Glue does not work on this particular paper that I have.

SOFT SEEDLINGS

I saw a card like this and loved the simplicity of it.  I think this will also make a great design to use for Thanksgiving cards.  There are some great cards out there using multiple colors of ink on the stamp too.

MEMORY BOX - Wild Blooms die

It was time to pull out a die that I hadn't used in a long time.  There was a time when I couldn't get enough Memory Box and/or Poppy Stamps brand dies.  I have quite a collection but haven't been making good use of them for some time.

I love this design because it is so simple.  I embossed the white layer with the Stampin' Up! textured folder and then cut the design with the Wild Blooms die.  The navy card base then shows through the cut out area.  I stamped the sentiment and punched it out.  It was added with dimensionals.

STAMPIN' UP! - Sun Prints DSP

Making a card doesn't get much easier than this.  I took a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of the dsp and added it to a white mat that measured 4" x 5 1/4".  This was then added to the navy card base.  All I had to do was add the little pearls and I was done.  This designer paper is gorgeous!

USING RETIRED DSP WITH DAISIES

A few days ago I posted another card like this and said I would be posting another one today because that one didn't fold out as far as this one.

Not sure why this picture makes the paper looked so washed out.  Here you can see how that panel to the far right stretches out......but it worked to glue it down too.

TWO MORE CARDS USING BIRD BALLAD DSP

This card is being scheduled in advance since we stayed over night when we went to see our granddaughter yesterday.  I don't think the cards need any explanation, but if you have questions, just let me know.

Thank you for stopping by today!

CONNIE STEWART'S TREAT BOX

Today we are traveling to see our Granddaughter who is enrolled in the PA program in Dubuque, Ia.  Since it is close to Halloween, we are taking a bucket of treats, fresh chocolate chip cookies and a mini  loaf of banana bread made yesterday.

Recently Connie Stewart, Simple Simply Stamping, showed how to make a box that would be just the right size for two Little Debbie snack cakes.  I want to make three for some special trick or treaters but thought it would be good to see how difficult they are to make.  EASY, PEASEY!  And the double packs of snack cakes fit perfectly.

Most of my Halloween supplies have been been away so I grabbed a Paper Pumpkin kit that I had purchase from someone on Facebook and used the stamps and scalloped die cut from the box.

If you are interested in making some of these little boxes to hand out, just do a search for Connie Stewart on YouTube and scroll through her videos.  The one for this box shows a picture of one as you scroll through the list.

FANCY FOLD USING AWASH IN BEAUTY DSP

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO OUR CANADIAN FRIENDS!

The card only uses an 11" x 5 1/2" piece of card stock for the base.

The flower stamp was used with VersaMark ink to randomly stamp around the 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" section of the Rich Razzleberry card stock.  However I messed up with some of it to the left side of the panel.  The narrow flowered section was supposed to be loose but I glued it down to hide the area I had messed up.  (Come back Friday and you will see the way the card was intended.)  This certainly works too.

IT'S A 6 CARD DAY!

When I make a card, I take a picture of it and decide when I'd like to have it show on my blog.  There are folders for each month of the year and I place the cards in the appropriate folder and assign a date to it.  In this case they just didn't make it to the blog as intended.

This is the card I had intended to have posted on Friday.  A couple of weeks ago I decided to just go ahead and schedule enough cards ahead that I didn't have to worry about it.  Well, when that time ran out I forgot I need something for Friday.  Friday proved to be a really busy day.  We went for our Covid booster shots and did lots of running around afterwards.  By the time we got home the reaction that I get from the shot had started..........chills......and the chills got worse.

This card was made with the Awash In Beauty dsp and the picture shows the fold.  I made the belly band to help keep it closed and added a flower as an embellishment.  Now on to the 2 cards intended for Saturday.

These two cards were supposed to have been posted on Saturday.  Since my blog was the last thing on my mind Saturday, that didn't happen.  I spent the day covered with a blanket in my recliner.

The first card was made with retired dsp I was trying to use up and the retired Flower Shop stamp set that I just can't bring myself to sell.  The second card just used some pieces of retired dsp from the same package.

By Sunday I was still not feeling "normal".......whatever that is..... but I did manage to make it to church.  I spent most of the day still in my recliner but at least was able to read a new book from the library.  It's been a very long time since I spent so little time on my computer.

Sunday's card was to be the one I made for someone who had lost their 19 year old granddaughter to cancer.  It used papers from the Hues of Happiness bundle.  I used the dies to cut out the flowers and leaves from one of the dsp sheets.  Now onto the cards for today............

The tummies on these birds are just too bold!

I really have been concentrating on using retired papers.  Some aren't my favorites and some are ones that are so pretty I hate to use them.  Sometimes it's just hard to cut into them.  They call that hoarding I guess.  The paper is from the retired Bird Ballad dsp package. This design was not one of my favorites but I did see a couple of cards on Pinterest that used it so I got busy. Unfortunately there is still more of it.

Well, that gets me all caught up with the cards I had ready to post.  Thank you for coming by today!

STACK, CUT AND SHUFFLE

This is probably the most used way of cutting paper for this style of card.  It uses 4 pieces of dsp and they are all cut at the same time by stacking and putting them on your trimmer.  I was really pleased with the combination of these four.  As you can see the patterns are just rotated so that each pattern shows up in a different spot.  The colors of these papers just called out for a little daisy and the dotted paper was perfect for the center of the flowers.

Thank you for coming by today!

My card was modeled after one I saw on Pinterest.  That card used a die with larger trees.  This die is from Penny Black.  I liked the large...
