RETIRED FLORAL BOUTIQUE DSP

Another card which I made months ago from retired Floral Boutique dsp.  I really do want to avoid buying any additional SU papers........they are so beautiful.........but I need to use what I have.  This was probably modeled after one I saw on Pinterest.

STAMPIN' UP! - Detailed Floral thinlit die

A few months ago I was concentrating really hard on using up some of the supplies I had that were retired.  One of the papers was "Floral Boutique" and this die coordinated with that designer series paper.  The pieces under the die cut are actually strips of Washi tape that also coordinated with the dsp.  I had so many cards made up using this "bundle" of things that I didn't want to bore everyone by posting them all one day after the other.  I have 17 more cards "in the wings" to pull out for posts when I haven't had time to make anything new.  There will be one more tomorrow.  Because of all the length of time that I was unable to use my craft space, I was really glad I had some of these to pull out.

I do have some new cards to post next week.  I'm going to try to get back in my routine but now have things to put away after the City Wide Garage Sale this past Saturday.  I was really glad that I decided not to have it in our garage (lack of tables prevented that anyway).  The Legion Hall set up spaces for 7 of sellers with 3 long tables for each of us.  They also had a bake sale where I was afraid I would spend any money I took in from sales but I did fine.

CARD USING TRIANGLES

This is another card that I tried after watching two videos using this method. Sharon Armstrong and Rita Holmes basically used the same method, but there was a little difference in the directions.  There are different combinations you can come up with.  I decided to pull out some retired designer paper to give it a try.  The white border around my triangles wasn't equal.  I made this card a few weeks ago and think that I discovered I had not measured something quite right.

CASING A YOU TUBE VIDEO

I think this idea came from "The Creativity Cave" on You Tube.  When I saw how she used the hexagon punch to cut five of the colors from the Stampin' Up! "Simply Marbleous" dsp, I decided it was going to make really quick and fun card.  I just punched 5 pieces, cut them in half and then added them to the white piece of card stock that is 4" x 5 1/4".  The pieces were added and I stamped the design in the center.  I colored with SU Blender pens.  This piece was then matted with the Balmy Blue card stock and placed on the white card base.

Yesterday my husband and I had a fun little day trip with our two adult daughters.  We had been to "The Largest Candy Store in Minnesota a/k/a Jim's Apple Farm" just south of Jordan MN a couple of times.  A few years ago we took the two youngest grandchildren on a weekend trip and that was one of the stops.  Our two daughters kept saying they wanted to go so we decided to take them. They have more candy there than you can imagine.  But they also have a lot of soda pop flavors that are no longer available in the stores AND they have thousands of puzzles.  One of the puzzles there was 42,000 pieces!!!!  Can you imagine putting that together?

I cannot begin to tell you how much fun the four of us had together.   No spouses and no grandchildren - just the four of us.   We had so many hard laughs and giggles throughout the day.  It was truly good for the soul.  I don't think that just just the four of us had done anything since before they were out of school.  Truly a special day!

PENNY BLACK CRITTER STAMPS

This die cut piece was perfect for using some Penny Black stamps that I have had for a long time.  The way each of the critters are looking worked out perfectly for these circle windows which were added with foam dimensionals.

OCEAN FRONT And MY CRAFT ROOM

Can't you just imagine yourself sitting here enjoying the sounds of the waves and watching children playing in the sand?  It makes me think of a couple trips we had to Cocoa Beach, FL.

Space for a 10 drawer rolling cart beside the table - due here Friday.
Under the table are two carts for 12 x 12 designer papers.
I like having the card stock on the table for a change.
Magazine holders work great to keep them straight.

The second table has a rolling cart underneath that holds my Cuttlebug , one of my trimmers, Scor Pal and other items.  There is enough room there for to work on a project or have a friend come play although it would have to be a day when my husband is gone.  If I had a third chair I could have two friends come to play.  Hmmm!

Copic markers and SU Wood mounted stamp sets are in the far end.  The middle section has dies, embossing folders, all of my SU punches and other supplies., The shelves on the far right have all of my SU stamp sets, SU dies and embossing folders and a container of most of my SU 6 x 6 papers.

The closet holds a lot of miscellaneous supplies.

2 MORE HAND-PENNED FLOWERS

These two cards appear to be virtually the same.  However one piece of the dsp was matted with a white scalloped piece.  The second was matted with the lavender scalloped piece.  Each of them have a different floral design that was colored, die cut and mounted on a die cut circle.

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned Flowers

Continuing my effort to use up designer series paper, this was an easy one to make with a little added trim of lavender card stock and a butterfly.  CAS (Clean and Simple).

ALL SQUARED AWAY - 2 tries

This really wasn't a set I had planned on buying.  The flower design is actually a square die but I trimmed off the "frame" of the cut piece that I had cut in dark green card stock.  I then cut three of each of the flowers in the three colors.  The colored pieces were added with foam dots.

I thought I was being so careful to get the flowers straight across.  The ribbon appears to be straight but if you look closely the tops sort of slant down to the right.  I added the sentiment above to help take away from the fact that things weren't straight.

I wasn't happy with my first attempt so I tried again.  This time I drew a very light pencil line across where the top of the flowers should be. Much better result.

CALMNG CAMILIA - Retired

The card base is Ivory.   I stamped this beautiful design with Memento Black ink.  Then I colored the leaves and flowers with Stampin' Up! blenders.  I had a double stitched frame made with Ivory card stock in my parts so I added that to the card base with dimensionals.

CASING A CARD ON PINTEREST

This is pretty much the same as the one I saw on Pinterest, but I changed  the sentiment on the black strip.  I think I also might have used a different embossing folder for the Green Apple mat.

Yesterday I started bringing things back into my craft area. It's going to take some time because I'm not putting everything back in the same place. I ordered two more rolling carts - one with drawers to hold 12 x 12 dsp and one with 10 drawers to hold various items.  With the new arrangement of my husband's desk I will have another 60x30 table right by the one I have giving me more work space. Really excited about it!

THREE WINDOWS & EXCITING NEWS

My friend, Kris, made a card recently using a die like this.  I liked the paper that she used better than this one but I just had to give it a try.  I think I will probably add a narrow banner with a sentiment but waiting to see how I will use it.

Surprise!  The floor was put down yesterday instead of today.  I love how the color of the room came out.  Too many times I pick out a color that is too dark but thos is just a really pretty light blue.  And the flooring is even better than I expected so I am one very happy crafter.......or will be when I get back in there. Today my husband will start putting the mop board and the rest of the window trim back in place that he removed for the painting -  so I might be able to start putting some things in the room by this afternoon.  This is HIS desk and it will be put right in the middle of that window on the right (going East and West). (That's where HE wants it.)   It used to be going North and South in the corner between the two windows.  The desk has an "arm" that pulls out on the right side that used to hold our printer but Gary probably won't use that anymore.

My table will sit under those metal strips which hold white shelves.  I've had those for a long time and love how so many things are within my reach.  Once I get my craft table back in place. We will see whether a couple of new rolling carts will work out that I want.  The opposite wall is solid and will have three bookcases against it to hold a lot of supplies.  On the right of this picture is a hint of the 6 foot closet that is lined with white shelves. It normally holds crafting supplies but was very useful for "stuffing" a lot more of my things in there for this project.

BUTTERFLY NOTE CARD

The flooring for our craft/computer room arrived a couple of days ago and we are pretty sure they are going to come tomorrow to install it.  I am getting so excited about getting back in my room and doing some reorganizing that I didn't sleep good Saturday night thinking about it.  Here's a simple card.

STAMPIN' UP! - Hand-Penned DSP

This is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest.  I had the right supplies so I made one like it.  I loved the layout and the fun shapes of hexagons arranged on the card.  Thank you for stopping by!

SCRAP OF DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

I saw a card made like this and really liked the idea.  I chose a more bold dsp for my card and I really like the way it came out.  It's a great way to use up odd pieces of designer papers.

I cut the window with a Spellbinders scalloped circle into a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock.  I carefully placed the scrap of dsp onto the card base so that it would be directly behind the opening.  The window piece was added to the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of white and then used the hexagon punch to cut the ends of the strip.  The little butterfly was added as a final touch.

MORE BUTTERFLIES

A few weeks ago I made this card using a butterfly die that I have.  The card is based on one I saw either on YouTube or Pinterest.  Then a few days ago, I wanted to cut another one of these butterflies to finish off a card I had started.  I can't find the die and I know I have it.

Can anyone tell me who makes this particular butterfly die?  I've looked through my many dies and can't remember what company this one is from.,   I have dies from Stampin' UP!, Memory Box, Poppy Stamps and some off brand ones.  This came from a one-piece die.  (Some of mine have a second piece for the antenna.)  Maybe when I am putting things back in my craft room, I will run across it while reorganizing supplies, but if you recognize it, let me know...........please.

RETIRED STAMPIN' UP! BUTTERFLY DSP

I nearly forgot to post something today.  Most of the time I spend some time on Sundays scheduling cards for at least the entire next week.  Yesterday that didn't happen.

When this paper came out with Stampin' Up!, it sold out very quickly and I didn't get any.  Several years ago I met Ann Schach and we stay in touch now and then.  I contacted Ann and as luck would have it, she had a few pieces that she was willing to send my way.  I promised that I would donate the cards that I made with them.  While going through my "stash" I discovered that I had not used all of the pieces and made this card.  Twice I have donated around 50-75 cards to the Veterans Home here in Iowa.  Since I spend a lot of time making cards, I have built up quite an inventory.  My husband and I are going to take a little car trip to the Home and deliver many more.  I have several shoe boxes stuffed with cards.

As of last Friday, I don't have access to my crafting materials since the room is completely emptied.  My husband is tearing up the carpet, removing the mopboard and window trims and then washing down the walls.  It's been a very long time since the room received that type of attention due to all of the "things" in the room.  Thursday one of our daughters is going to paint and on June 15th we are scheduled to have a "wood" floor installed.  Then the task of moving things back into the room will begin........with possibly some changes in the arrangement.  I would keep the same arrangement we had but since my husband shares the room, I guess it would be nice if I would "let him" have some input.

Just because I can't be making cards doesn't mean there won't be cards showing up here though.  I have enough for the rest of the month and half of July!  So keep checking back.

STAMPIN' UP! All Squared Away set

I watched a video by Rita Holmes a few weeks ago.  She made a couple of different cards using the All Squared Away set.  I used her same layout but did adjust the measurements slightly and used my own color combination.  You can see her video here.  The other card she showed will be on my blog later this month.

25TH JUBILEE

One of the priests who served our parishes several years ago, celebrated his 25th Jubilee on May 22.  This is the card I sent to him.  I thought the embossed designs looked like the perfect background for the cross.  The cross consists of two dies from a Spellbinders set.  The smaller cross was cut from silver glitter paper.
