TWO MORE Magnolia Lane Designer Paper

I saw a video using both sides of  the designer paper.  I'm sorry to day that I sent both of these cards out already and forgot to take a picture of the inside.  The reverse side of this paper was striped.

The Petal Pink card base was cut to 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" and then scored at 1" for the fold.  Then the 1" strip was embossed with the Swiss Dot folder.

I think the designer paper was but 5 1/2 x 3 1/2.  Then the dp was added to the embossed border with the right side even with the right side of the Petal Pink base.

The variation of this card looks prettier I think because the dp was cut a little smaller so that when it was added the pink edge of the base showed.  Even though I like this one better for the way it looks, it doesn't work the best to put the card on a shelf and have it stand straight.

STAMPIN' UP! - 2 cards w/Magnolia Lane DP

I just realized I hadn't posted anything yet this week!  I had these cards all lined up in a folder but forgot to put them on my blog.  I took an online retreat Saturday and have been busy making up cards from what I learned so my focus was obviously on doing those.

This is not a card from those classes.  It was a very quick and easy card to make though.  I simply matted a 3 x 3 piece of Magnolia Lane DP on a piece of white card stock and adhered that to a black card base.  On a separate piece of white card stock I stamped the sentiment.  Inside the card is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock for a sentiment and to write my message.

Using the same  size pieces of paper, I colored the flowers on the dp with a Real Red Blender from SU.  This will make a great Christmas card.  Since my Christmas stamps are all put away for now, I will add a sentiment to the front and inside when I am preparing the rest of my Christmas/Holiday cards.

SEASON'S GREETINGS - SU Flip Card

I can't believe I made a Christmas card already!  Several years ago Stampin' Up! had a couple of dies - Circle die and a Label Die - that created a design that would swivel.  I'm not sure if I had ever used them.  Pinterest was my "go to" for an idea.  The video I ran across also used these papers and stamp set.  I had both so I CASED the card I saw.

I made some minor changes in mine.  Once again this design doesn't want to lay flat no matter how many times I burnish the folds so I decided to use a belly band.  The card I saw had a tiny sentiment on the circle with the tree but this gave me a space to add the Season's Greetings.

CUTE LITTLE LAMB

This is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest.  I wish I would have shortened the gingham just a little more so that I would have had more room for a sentiment.  The card base and the gingham dp is Stampin' Up's Rococo Rose.  I love this color.

TWO 50TH ANNIVERSARY CARDS

One of my husband's high school classmates "celebrated" their 50th Wedding Anniversary a few days ago.  I use quotation marks since they are really not able to celebrate under the circumstances with this virus.  Under other circumstances, I might have just wished them a happy day on Facebook but decided that a card might be a nice surprise.

I used this die to cut a piece of ivory card stock to be added to the ivory card base.  Then I cut it again using some gold foil paper and inserted a few of the gold pieces into the openings.

When I had the design cut from the gold foil, I certainly didn't want to waste the main piece, so I added it to a second ivory card base but simply added the little banner for the sentiment.  The banner on both cards was added with a strip of foam tape.

ANOTHER FANCY FOLD

It is hard to get this kind of card to lay flat, so for this one, I made a belly band to hold it shut.

When the recipient slides the band off, the message will be inside.  I haven't decided how I will be using this card quite yet.  I could even just write my own message in instead of stamping it.

STAMPIN' UP! - Floral Boutique DP

This is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest and I believe I used the exact same papers.  The only thing different about my card is that I added a little dragonfly and I will be using a belly band to mail the card.  This type of card doesn't want to lay flat.

A FUN FOLD

Looking at the front of this card it looks very similar to the Easter card that was given to the residents where my mother lives.  The Melon Mambo piece is actually flat and doesn't open.  See below for the way the card is used.  I thought it was a fun style to make after seeing it on a blog that I saw the other morning.

I'll add a sentiment inside when I decide how I will be using it.  Thanks for coming by today!

CUTE LITTLE BUNNY

I saw a card like this on someone's blog.  They had used it for Easter.  I decided not to add a sentiment at this time.  I can use it next year or it could be used for a new baby, a birthday, thinking of you etc.  Isn't he cute?

STAMPIN' UP! - Painted Blossoms

A while ago I posted some cards that I made using one of the 12 x 12 papers from the Painted Blossoms designer paper series.  I had this piece mounted on the card and wanted to stamp the sentiment in the Blackberry Bliss ink to coordinate with the mat I had used.  I didn't have the ink so included it in an order I was making at the time.  The sentiment is a Stamp Barn design....an Ottawa, ON, Canada stamp company.  I love the script.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR GEORGIA

My friend, Georgia, celebrated a birthday last week.  Because she is "sheltering in place", her family and friends made sure she had a birthday she'll probably never forget.  They decorated her lawn, cards, food and presents were delivered to her garage and people drove around her block a couple of times honking and then stopping to sing happy birthday to her from their cards.  How great is that!!!

The reminder on my computer had not been set up to remind me a week earlier.  This is the card I made for her on the day of her birthday and sent to her.

I had a piece of  Yupo paper that had been inked.  I punched the circle from the white 4" x 5 1/4" white card stock and then added the Yupo paper behind it.  The bird is from a Recollections die set that I had never used I really like the silhouette look against the background.

This is actually the first one I made but in true fashion had a very tiny black mark that showed up from the "warm wishes" stamp that didn't make me happy.   I had already thrown away the small piece of unused Yupo paper and pulled it back out of the wastepaper basket to die cut the little sprig.  There was still enough that I cut the second one to add to Georgia's card.  I like the one I sent to her the best because I used the Certain Celery card base.

A FUN FOLD

I'm not sure what this fold is called.  I made some of these in November or December using the Stampin' Up "Feels Like Frost" designer papers.  This was some dp that I had purchased, didn't end up needing but the store wouldn't take returns on paper.  I found a good use for it.

The idea or this fold is to use a design from a 6 x 6 pad and trim it to 5 1/2" x 6" and then cut the appropriate panels. The picture above shows the card closed.  The picture below shows the card opened up showing how the pieces continue through the card.

EASTER CARD

When I took the picture, I hadn't added "Happy Easter" under the image and forgot to take a new picture before sending it out.

I cut the die twice and stacked them by using Stick-It.  Then I cut the cross a third time and added it with foam squares.  It really gave a nice dimension to the card.

This year our Easter will be so different.  We won't have church services and our family will not be gathering as we usually do.  The best we can do is probably watch a church service on TV and then either talk to our two daughters' families on the phone or Skype with them.  I know there are many, many people who are suffering and that we are fortunate so far to all have our health.  Praying for everyone!

Thanks for coming by!  Stay strong!  Stay safe!

ELEGANT CARD FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS

The unbranded die I used for this card was cut twice and added to the card leaving space for the sentiment between the two pieces.  I think this could be used for a wedding or birthday....maybe even other situations.

EASTER CARDS FOR GRANDCHILDREN

This is the card I made for five of the grandchildren.  I usually try to make a different card for each one of them, but this year I made five of them alike.  I just thought this was such a cute die.  I had a package of dimensional stickers that I used on the cards.

All of us are choosing to socially distance ourselves on Easter Sunday.  Each of our daughter's families will be celebrating privately on their own as will my husband and I.   Before all of this hit our area on one of my last shopping trips I picked up some vellum Easter bags and some treats. (I think I mentioned them in an earlier post.)  Because we aren't going to all be together I'm really glad I made up those treats for the grandchildren.

One of our granddaughters who goes to the community college near here is accustomed to being able to stop by and visit with us on a regular basis.  The college is closed for classes on campus but she still has on-line classes and she needed to take some copies at our home.  All of the libraries are closed and you can't get into the banks to make copies.  We allowed her to come but asked her to make sure her hands were clean and that she touch as little as possible.  We gave each other virtual hugs from a distance.  When she left, I wiped down my printer, computer, the stairwell, and door knobs.  After doing that, I was really upset and kept saying "I hate feeling I have to do this!  She's our granddaughter! I hate it!"  The lack of hugs from family members is the hardest thing for me.  I hope all of you are staying safe and doing well.  STAY STRONG!

STAMPIN' UP! - 2 EASTER CARDS

These are two of the Easter cards we sent to our mailing list.  The "Falling In Love" designer papers are from Stampin' Up!.  The die cuts the beautiful design and the solid portion of the cross comes out.  I added it back into the area using foam squares which really gave a wonderful dimension.

CASING MY FRIEND, KRIS -2 cards

After taking this picture, I did add a butterfly in the upper right corner of the dp.  Check out the 2nd card below.

Kris had sent us an Easter card using this layout.  This was just a little more involved for assembling that we normally do for the independent living center.  I had all of the pieces cut and punched ready for my two friends to come and help put these (and yesterday's) cards together.  Like I mentioned the Covid-19 virus put a stop to that just because we are all being very careful.

Last year I purchased several sheets of Easter papers from the store where our group has started meeting in June.  The dp is double sided so I cut some to use both ways.  The dp is 3" x 4" and added to an SU Pink Passion 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" mat.

The pink band actually goes around the right side of the card and flips to the right to open the card.  This was a fun design to use.  In yesterday's post and this one a simple Happy Easter was stamped inside.  Since I'm not venturing out these days, one of my daughters was able to deliver these.  My neighbor lady is a nurse and works at the nursing home. She was able to deliver yesterday's cards to the nursing home.

STAMPIN' UP! - Ears to You stamp

My friends and I were planning to get together to make 60 of these cards for a nursing home near us.  Unfortunately so many of us are choosing to isolate ourselves so that plan fell apart.  I did send these cards to my friend across the alley from us.  I had all of the pieces cut and stamped.  Carol assembled them.  I thought it would be fun to make them in six different colors so there are 10 of each.

The stamp actually has the words "Ears to You" under the bunnies but I cut that portion of.  If I choose to use it in the future I can still do so.

Tomorrow I'll show you the card that I assembled for the living center where my mother resides.

Thank you for coming by today!

Aren't these birds cute?  I've had the stamp set for a while and just hadn't inked it up.  The littlest bird was cut out and pop...
