FLOWING FLOWERS STAMPS/FLIGHT & AIRY DSP

I saw a card here like this.  The main difference is the dsp I used and the color of ink for the flowers.  I really liked how this one came together.

A NEW QUILT CARD

I recently saw this method of making four quilt cards all at the same time.  I forgot to take a picture before cutting this apart.  The "quilting" with an embossing folder naturally would be made after cutting the piece into four 4" x 4" squares.  After embossing the individual pieces, I put them back together fr the picture.  I'm sorry I don't remember the name of this design.  It's a lot of pieces but was fun.  I chose my designs from a paper pad that I have had for many years.

Below are the individual cards that I made.  When using square designs, I always prefer to use the book binder layout for my card.

TWISTED RIBBON TECHNIQUE

OK, I know this first one isn't really "twisted ribbon".  I had my strips all cut and "knew what I was doing"............well, not so much!  I realized after I got started that it wasn't right but finished it anyway.  It's still pretty.

This card has the correct way to do "twisted ribbon".  I am absolutely loving this Flight & Airy dsp!

This afternoon my two friends are coming to make the 165 Easter cards that we donate.  We haven't been together since last Fall so this should be a lot of fun!

Thank you so much for coming by today!

A RITA HOLMES VIDEO

When I watched the LIVE video, Rita showed how to make this where the dsp was simply mounted to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of card stock.  But she also showed it mounted to a regular side-folded card knowing that many of us prefer making a card that will stand up.  I made mine into a regular card.  Below you can see the outside, the added front fold and then the inside of the card.

USING UP DELIGHTFUL DAISY DPS

I had just enough of these designs to make three cards.  I have most of a sheet that has Tranquil Tide but I don't have that color of ink and not sure if any of my other packs of paper have that color in it.  I may just give it to the gals who help me make the holiday cards.  Other than a few odd scraps which may not get used, this is another pack gone..........well almost.

Thursday, February 22, 2024

I thought I had used all of this dsp so I was surprised when I found a partial sheet of the two patterns.  I was determined that this time, when I say this paper is all gone that it would be ALL GONE!  There was also a piece that I fussy cut the birds from for the first card.  The second card focal point was also ready to go.  The bottom three cards are all the same but have different sentiments.

As with most dsp there are always scraps left of various patterns.  Tomorrow you will see how I made two cards using most of those.

STAMPIN' UP! LAYERING DIORAMA DIE

I embossed a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock with a brick folder and then added one of the Meandering Meadow pieces behind it.  I'm not sure if I like that folder with that scene, but it is what it is.    The surprise is when you open the card. (See below)

Susan Campfield had a video showing a card similar to this using a larger piece of dsp.  She also mentioned that she had a .pdf for making the card this way.  The .pdf wasn't free and it didn't look too complicated so I decided to give it a try on my own.  It really wasn't all that difficult to figure out.

I was so excited that I had been able to figure it out that I did make a minor mistake.  The white panel on the right hand side should not have been embossed.  I may have to just add another light weight white panel so I can stamp a sentiment or write a note and sign our names.

The fence is from the New Horizon collection.

Susan's video for using the larger piece of dsp with more folds can be found HERE.

STAMPIN' UP! - Meandering Meadows

Card #1

Inside

Card #2

Inside

Stampin' Up! had several 6 x 6 scenic papers and they are all just beautiful!  I don't have the "arch" type die that works so well with this design, but I think the Memory Box Woodland Oval die works pretty well with it too.

The die cut was made on a piece of card stock measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  The dsp was cut slightly smaller than that about 4" x 5 1/4" and then added to the back side of the oval before adding it to the card base.

SO HAPPY TO CELEBRATE YOU

I know I posted this card at some point but I don't have anything new to show you as of now.  We're leaving shortly for a club volleyball tournament at the school where our granddaughter, Taryn, participates.  Hope to have something new for tomorrow.

STACK, CUT AND SHUFFLE

I know I have posted this type of card before.  I saw a video though of someone who made these using the One Horse Open Sleight dsp and decided to get some of mine used.  I love this combination of the papers.

FANCY FOLD - FITTING FLORETS DSP

This card is made using a 5 1/4"x 12" piece of designer series paper, scored at 4" and 8".  The piece can then be added to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of coordinating card stock for more stability, which I did.  Then just decorate as you wish.

STAMPIN' UP! - EVER EDEN DSP

On January 30, Rita Holmes had THIS video on Facebook.  The folds on the leafy panel are done much like the folds for a "drape fold" card.  The picture is a little dark but the card base is Evening Evergreen card stock.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TUCKER!

The grandchildren love getting cards that aren't typical fold so I try my best to make something fun for them.  Tucker turning 18 is a pretty special birthday so this is the card I made for him. I took the picture before adding the piece for our personal message on that last panel.  You can get the directions for making this type of card  HERE.

And here are the final four cards you get from  this  video by Karen Titus.    I may try to do this with some papers from some other collect...
