VERY SIMPLE BIRTHDAY

I just had to use this card part.  The flowers had been stamped and colored.  I added the sentiment, matted it and added it to the SU card stock.

PENNY BLACK - Iris

Another card part used!  I use my markers to color right on the stamp and then spritz with a little water.  I love the look.

WARMEST WISHES & CUSTER STATE PARK

I believe this flower design is a stamp from Impression Obsession.  I colored it with Copic markers but then put it in the card pieces.  It was time to use it.

Below are three pictures from Custer State Park in South Dakota.  We were thrilled at the number of buffalo that our family was able to experience.  They walk right by the cars and even right beside the many motorcycles that drive through.  No one attempts to bother them!!!

These walked right by us. They get close enough that you could touch them but that is a really big NO, NO!

This shows just how many happened to be on the move while we were there.

AFTER they had passed and were at a VERY safe distance I wanted a picture of us with them in the background.

ANOTHER CARD PIECE & CRAZY HORSE

I used the die of a friend when we were in Des Moines to cut this piece.  I love the daisy die.  I cut it at an angle  When I finally got around to using it, I added the "lattice" look behind it.  The lattice is actually made with a die that has diagonal lines.  I cut two and then added one over the other. (Is that clear as mud?)

Our two daughters

I won't live long enough to see this project finished, but it is going to be massive....bigger than Mount Rushmore.  My husband and I had the great experience of going on one of the semi-annual organized walks up to the top of the actual carving and stood right at the "face" of Crazy Horse.

FLOURISHES - Sweet Peas & VACATION

Another lady and I made an order several years ago for several sets from Flourishes.  I kept half and she had the other half and we agreed to share them.  One of the sets that my friend kept was the Sweet Peas but I stamped off several of them before she took them home.  I've had this stamp off for a long time and finally colored it and matted it.  I may have to call her to see if I can borrow that set again.

The Badlands

Mount Rushmore

August 1st we left with a large van and a "chase vehicle" behind us for South Dakota.  We treated our whole family to a trip to see the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and other sites.  Several years ago we took the family to Disneyworld but I think this will be it for us treating the whole family.  They were both wonderful trips though and we made a lot of great memories.  Strangely enough the kids and our daughters both seemed to have enjoyed the Badlands the most.  They all had so much fun climbing and crawling around on the formations!

Our family
One granddaughter was not able to go with us due to her job and preparing to leave for college.

A BIRTHDAY AND A THINKING OF YOU

I'm sorry I don't have time to give an explanation.......I'm getting my supplies and stamps to the Stamp Sale today.  I love the simplicity of these corner dies.

As always questions are welcome!

CARD PIECE FROM A FRIEND

The layer on this card was twice this size.  I cut it in half and made two cards with it.  It has a very pretty border already on it.  All I had to do was stamp the sentiment and a couple of little butterflies.

MONDAY, TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY - 3 CARDS

Using a stamped off piece in my parts basket

I've been busy catching up after being gone for a second time.  In the process of catching up I forgot to schedule the posts for the first three days of this week......so here are three cards.  August 1st we took the family to South Dakota to see the sights and were gone for 6 days.  My husband and I left again on September 1st for 12 days and went to Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.  We also made other stops along the way.  I hope to share a couple of pictures.

In addition to catching up I have two ladies coming tomorrow to help make the Halloween cards that we give the staffs at two facilities to hand out to their residents.  AND I will be taking boxes and boxes of stamps, supplies etc. to a big stamp sale on Friday.  This has been a very busy week.

A Whipper Snapper stamp

Made with a plastic stencil and colored with a marker.  (It is better to color by sponging the color)

TWO MORE ELIZABETH CRAFT STICKERS

Both of the stickers for these two cards were added to white card stock and then colored with Copic markers.  I wish I could say that I've made a dent in the pieces I have to use.

The posts for this past weeks cards were scheduled ahead for when I was away from home.  I believe at the time this posts, we will have just arrived home again.  I'll tell more about that next week.

A RUBBERNECKER STAMP

I stamped this design a long time ago and wasn't really sure if I wanted to use it.  It's another piece that's been with all of my other card parts.  This time I decided to get it mounted.  The design is done with four different stamps.

2 CARDS USING UP CARD PARTS

The balloons on both of the cards are stickers from Elizabeth Crafts.  I had them on the papers and colored so all I needed to do was to mat them and add them to a card.  The first one was done with double sided adhesive paper and glittered.  For the second card I simply added the balloons to white card stock.

COLORFUL TREES

Sadly, soon the trees around here will begin to change their colors.  I love Fall when we have good weather and the trees can be beautiful but they do signal what is to come..........Winter.  These are not the colors we will see around here, but it was a fun card to make.  I borrowed a Stampin' Up! stamp set from one of my friends to stamp these images.  Once again the piece was in my card parts for over a year.  I'm glad this one finally was completed.

BIRTHDAY BUTTERFLIES

Each year the care center where my mother-in-law resided holds a special program and family members of those who passed in the previous year are invited to release Monarch butterflies.  Several of our family attended.  One of our granddaughters who was there had a birthday a couple of weeks ago so this is the card I made for her.  She was very close to her Great Grandmother.  Although the stickers are not Monarch butterflies, I knew she would appreciate the thought.

CITY LANDSCAPE

Another card part used!  The die cut had been on the white layer for a long time.  I had also used a marker to add yellow behind the black die piece, but then it sat in with all the other pieces for a long time.  I grabbed one of my "go to" sentiments, added it to a piece of SU Daffodil Delight card stock and then onto a card base.  DONE!

ALTENEW TULIPS

Yesterday I posted a card that felt like Fall.  Today I'm not necessarily feeling like Spring, but this is another "card part" that has been waiting to be added to a card.

I stamped the sentiment across the flowers and then matted with a color that blended with the tulip buds.  Once it was added to a white card base it was another card part used!!!

SUNFLOWER CARDS

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.  September begins to feel like Fall to me so a Sunflower seemed to be very appropriate today.

When our group met in 2017, Kris had the supplies for us to make a card using the sunflower die.  I completed that card at the time but also cut additional pieces.  In the effort to be using up  "pieces" I made two cards like this.  The burlap "ribbon" is from Stampin' UP! and works great with the sunflower.   I ran the "ribbon"  through my Xyron to add adhesive to the back.

Thank you for coming by today!

And here are the final four cards you get from  this  video by Karen Titus.    I may try to do this with some papers from some other collect...
