FALL CARD for Pals Paper Arts PPA115

A second post for today.  I rarely make a card for the Pals Paper Arts.  Since I had some time this morning and I had a stamp here from Penny Black that I had not used yet, I had a quick idea for a card.  The stamped design is 4180J Reverie.  It is versatile and could be used different ways.  

The card base was run through Spellbinders Grand Calibur with a 5 x 7 Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Since I wanted to have the card open and run it through I needed the wider opening of the Grand Calibur.  

I have two drawers of gems and pearls and don't use them often enough so I went digging and found a package with the two shades of gems from Recollections that had never been opened.  Perfect colors for Fall.  The image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and then trimmed the piece so it could be mounted onto a piece of SU Chocolate Chip card stock.  I randomly added the two shades of gems.  The "Autumn" stamp is a retired piece from Hero Arts and that piece was popped with foam squares.

A SCARY HALLOWEEN

I found this great set of Mrs. Grossman stickers on the website of the distributor I use for most of the craft items I purchase for resale.  First I sponged some SU Baja Breeze ink onto most of the front of the card and then SU Wild Wasabi ink for the "grassy" area.  I arranged the stickers.

There were a few of the stickers left over and I certainly didn't want to waste any.  Recently I purchased the "Easy Folder Frames" set from Joan's Gardens.

Since the frames are plastic and cleaned up easy, I used one to mask the left hand side of the inside of the card and then sponged the Baja Breeze ink into the oval.  The ghost and stars were the only pieces I had left so I added them to the inked oval.  I rarely think to add anything inside the card but thought this was a nice way to use the entire sheet of stickers.

A few days later two of the granddaughters were here and made cards with the remaining two sheets of stickers.

ANOTHER PRECIOUS MOMENTS

This is another sticker from the Precious Moments set that I purchased in Branson MO.  This cute little boy reminded me of our blonde grandson who is also a very curious little boy.  I love the pastel colors that the Precious Moments designs use.

The embossed card front was done with a Cuttlebug folder and it worked perfectly to have the "Merry Christmas" and "Noel" lines showing completely.

PRECIOUS MOMENTS........

 

I know I should be working on a few Halloween cards for the grandchildren right now, but I ran across these adorable Precious Moments stickers on my table and decided they would be one of my projects today.  I found these at The Apple Tree Mall in Branson, MO.  There are two sheets in the package -- one sheet has the Nativity pieces and the other sheet has the Santa Claus type stickers.  I wish the designs had been just a little smaller because there were a couple of stickers I couldn't use.  Fortunately I had some 5 x 6 1/2 cards with envelopes in my "stash".

I popped the a star on the first card because of the little angel's sign saying "Follow Me".  On the second card, I popped the donkey and wish I would have popped the star too, but I'm OK with how they both turned out.

The card base on both cards was embossed with one of the 5 x 7 Cuttlebug folders.

THINKING OF YOU

Before I say anything else, I must let you know that this was not an original idea.  I follow several different blogs and saw a card like this.  Since I already had the Silhouette Grass from Hero Arts, I decided to make one very similar to what I saw.  To see the card that I cased, you can see it here:  2011-10-04 Hero Arts Silhouette Grass – – Autumn Blessings « The Craftiblog   Bonnie Szwalkiewicz has a lot of great cards on her blog so check them out.  Bonnie's card was a one layer card, but I decided I would mount the design onto the SU Close to Cocoa cardstock which matched the SU ink I had used.

One of the things that caught my eye on her card was the shine on the tops of the grass.  I wasn't sure what she used but I had a gold Spica pen which worked perfect.  If you click on the picture you might be able to see the shine that it gives.

GET WELL CARD

One of my mother's friends fell and broke her hip.  Our families were very close as I was growing up and I wanted to send her a card.

The white layer was run through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder (my go-to folder) but I used one of the Easy Folder Frames (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) that I purchased from  Joan's Gardens.

By using one of the frames, it left a blank oval in the center of the piece where I stamped the Sunflower design from Serendipity Stamps.  The design was colored with Copic markers.

The white layer was then attached to a piece of SU Crushed Curry and then onto a piece of SU Wild Wasabi.  The card base had been embossed with the same Swiss Dots folder but I trimmed down the length of the card so that there was just a single row of dots framing the layers which were mounted with foam squares.

It felt so good to actually make a card again.  I think it had been about three weeks since I'd taken the time to enjoy getting into my stamping supplies.

TRICK OR TREAT

Those little Trick or Treaters will be coming around before we know it.  Penny Black has this darling stamp and it so fun to color with Copic markers.  The three colored papers I used were from scrapbook papers that I had.  The candy corn pieces are dimensional stickers which seemed to go perfectly with this stamp.

If you are ever interested in Copic markers, I sell both the Sketch and CIAO markers.  They are one thing I thought I was never going to buy..............now I wouldn't be without them.
