Today through Thursday I will be posting Easter cards I made for grandchildren.  All of these will be using dies.  The one on Friday is for our oldest granddaughter and she is kind of past the "cutsie" stage for cards.

GET WELL CARD

A few weeks ago a little boy who goes to our church was in the hospital with appendicitis.  We thought it would be fun to send him a card..........he's such a little cutie.

The stamps I used have been in my stash for such a long time and I actually thought about trying to sell them.  After making this card, I think I'll hold on to the set for awhile.  The images were colored with Copic makers.

PENNY BLACK - Unfolding

While I had the lavender card stock and Copic markers on my table I decided to use them with this stamp from Penny Black which was also in my recent order.  I felt it needed just a little more of something but not sure what.  I started to post the picture and then discovered some Mrs. Grossman's stickers in my stash and one was the perfect little butterfly sticker in exactly the right color.

PENNY BLACK - Tranquil Buds

This is just one of the newest stamps I received in a recent order.  It is larger than I expected.  I stamped it on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and matted it on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" lavender mat.  A strip of SU ribbon was added and then a separate knotted piece was added with a glue dot before adding it to the 5" x 6 1/2" white card base.

STAMPIN' UP! - Painted Petals

The stamped design is created with two separate stamps - the leaves and then the floral blooms.  I used Pacific Point ink and card stock which matches the color of the flowers in the dp.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR A FRIEND

The friend who received this card was certainly meant to be in my life.  When both of us were in high school in different schools, we were both entered into a contest involving our high school bands but never met.  After graduating we went to the same business school but never met while we were there.  Something brought us together when we both moved back to our home territory and we ended up as roommates.  It's funny how sometimes "fate" brings people together.  

We remained in touch through Christmas cards each year but Facebook has made it easier to stay up to date with each other.  We're only about 35 miles apart but busy lives just never seemed to get us together but we are going to meet for lunch one of these days.

Another girl who I never met at the same contest or business school also became a roommate.   All three of us graduated in the same year from high school in different communities but had the same life experiences and ended up as roommates.  What are the odds? 

The card was made using SU designer paper.  I "fussy cut" the two individual little flowers and leaves  from the paper and then added them to the die cut circle.
