HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL CARD - Delightful daisy DP

Half of 2018 is gone already!  Since I've had these past two weeks scheduled ahead of time, when I post again it will probably be July 2.  Hope you are having a great summer!  Thank you for stopping by!

ONE LAST DRY EMBOSSED CARD

It was so much fun playing with these stencils again.  It's too bad that I have several small photo albums full of them and they get ignored but then that's the case with so many of my other supplies.  If companies would just stop tempting me with all these new ideas, maybe I could use what I have.  But we all know that's not going to happen.

This card was made using a variety of Lasting Impressions papers.  If there is anyone out there who who interested in what I have left, PLEASE let me know.  I'd be happy to make you a great deal!

THREE CUTE DAISIES

These daisies were embossed from the same brass stencil that yesterday's flower was made.  Papers are also from that same paper pad.

EMBOSSED FLOWER

The papers for this card aren't from Lasting Impressions but from a paper pad that I have had for a long time.  It has several coordinating papers so it was easy to put this card together.

LASTING IMPRESSIONS - Two Sunflower cards

WAY BACK when I started making cards most of mine were done with brass stencils from Lasting Impressions and Dreamweaver.  I'm pretty sure it was my friend Joyce who made a card similar to the one above and I really liked it.  I thought I had a picture of it but was unable to locate it so this is as close as I could come to what it looked like.  This will be a good color combination for this Fall.  The design of the card makes it appear that the card will flip open using the flower, but it is actually a side fold.

I like the combination of black and yellow with white.  For this card, I wish I would have used a brighter yellow for the center of the flower.

Thank you for coming by!  Next week I will have more cards with dry embossed designs.

SECOND LADY BUG CARD

I like this one better because of the colors I used.  I also had flipped the stencil over embossing the design pieces going the opposite way.

EMBOSSED LADY BUG

Using this Lasting Impressions stencil meant embossing the pieces with different colors and adding them together.  The only thing I don't enjoy is the fact that these pieces have to be fussy cut by hand instead of using a die.  But it was good to play with them again.

MY ROOTS OF MAKING CARDS

I am in Des Moines this week with six of my friends who meet each year in June.  We will be spending a lot of time sharing our toys, shopping, learning new techniques, laughing and eating.  The store where we meet is so generous to let us spread out our supplies and have fun there for several days.  Since we only see each other once a year it is a real treat to spend this time together.  We met yesterday and will be together until we all head home on Thursday.  I am scheduling cards to appear here while I'm gone.

Recently one of my friends who comes to "play" at my house asked about what I meant by dry embossing.  She has embossed with folders but hadn't seen embossing with brass stencils.  It was actually fun to get out my light box and a variety of stencils to show her and it was a way for me to get a little more (very little more) of the large stash of Lasting Impressions papers used.
return
It doesn't look like it in the picture, but both the random dot paper and the tiny dotted papers are from the same color category.

After Carol was gone, I left the light box and some papers on the table to have some more fun so you will be seeing more cards in the next few days.

IMPRESSION OBSESSION DIE - Bird on a Branch

This card is going to be used for a swap with the ladies I am meeting on Sunday, so I have instructed them NOT to look at my blog today.

I saw a card on Pinterest that used two die cuts similar to the two white ones I have used here as the backdrop for the bird.

The Bird on a Branch design was cut two times.  I used the entire thing  first and colored the branch and leaves with Copic markers.  I tried using chalk to the color the bird but wasn't happy with it at all.  When I cut the second piece, I trimmed it down using just part of the branch and using the second bird to glue over the first one.  The second branch was colored with Copics as well but using slightly lighter brown and green colors.

Overall I like the card but wish I could have done better with the bird......it's not quite a Robin.

I'll be away Sunday through Thursday but I have posts scheduled for all of next week so I hope you'll be back.  Thanks for coming by!

2 CARDS - DAISY PUNCH and BUTTERFLY DIE

Between all of the 12 x 12 designer papers I have and the smaller paper pads, I really am trying to use some of them.  Lining envelopes has been a help but only a small dent.

The daisy was cut with the SU punch and the leaves were made from the SU Botanical Builder Framelets.  The two pictures below show it partially opened and then opened all the way.

While I had the paper pad out with this floral design, I made one more card and lined the envelope.  This one used a die cut butterfly.

SU DAISY using LASTING IMPRESSIONS PAPERS

First I embossed a piece of white card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and added it to the card base.

From the days when I was selling Lasting Impressions products, I have way too much paper left so I have found that they are very useful even if I'm not dry embossing with them. I added a piece of the Petal Pink plaid card stock to the front.  The solid piece of Petal Pink card stock was punched on both edges and then attached.  I punched the Daisy with the SU punch three times and layered them.

STAMPIN' UP! - Cardstock & DP

The card stock is So Saffron and Wild Wasabi.  The DP was from Botanical Gardens.  I think the corner die cut is from a Memory Box Distressed Collage set.  I'm sorry I don't know what company the die cut flowers are from.

STAMPIN UP - Two using Daisy Designer Paper

It's time to post some more cards that I made recently.  I'm still not 100% due to the affects of the medications that I was taking, but I think I'm on the way back.   Thank you for your messages.  It means a lot!

Below are two cards I made using some of the wonderful papers from the Stampin' Up Designer Paper pack.  Sure wish I had purchased more of it.

TATTERED LACE - Love is in the Air

I'm sorry there is no message about these two cards.  I'm scheduling these to come up on my blog but I've had a virus that I'm having a really hard time kicking......sore throat, cough, fever.  I'm sick of being sick!  I'll post cards for this entire week but just the pictures.

DIFFERENT STYLE GATE FOLD

YouTube had a video showing a gate fold like this with the three tabs.  I like the style but not terribly happy with the designs I stamped on to the top and bottom tabs.  I don't have banner dies to make the tabs so I had to improvise.

Thanks for coming by!

Aren't these birds cute?  I've had the stamp set for a while and just hadn't inked it up.  The littlest bird was cut out and pop...
