BEE HAPPY

One of my friends (Kris) who was with our group in Des Moines earlier this week, brought the pieces for all of us to make one of the card on this post.  The bee is perfect with the Honeycomb embossing folder.

Thank you, Kris, for giving us the supplies to make this Oh So Cute card!

STAMPING BEST FRIENDS

Our Yahoo group has become extremely close and this year marked the 7th time we have gathered to enjoy each other's company, share our "stamping toys", talk, eat and experience many, many laughs.

I have a lot of things I want to start using and hope to be posting some new cards in the next few days.  First, I just need to get caught up on a few other things

The first year we met in a small  Iowa town at a craft store.  It was decided to move our gathering to Des Moines.  We now meet on a Sunday and stay two nights in a motel.  There is a great stamp store in Valley Junction that we shop in on Sunday.  Monday and Tuesday are spent at an Archivers.  As soon as we part company we all start looking forward to the next year.

I hope all of you each have a special group of friends with whom you can share good times such as these.  Thanks for stopping by!

LA BLANCHE STAMP - Butterfly

I've had this La Blanche stamp for a long time and never used it.  I had purchased several designs but wasn't really thrilled with the stamps.  If you aren't familiar with them they are a molded firm white foam which is about 1/2 inch thick and the design is a part of that molded white piece.  (Not sure that is very clear.)  I sold all of the other ones I had at a recent stamp sale but kept this one because of my love of using butterflies on cards.

I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with markers.  The design was then cut out using the new Spellbinders Hexagon dies.  Before removing the piece from the die, I sponged the entire piece with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  It was then attached to the rust colored card stock which had been cut with the next larger Hexagon die.

I added the matted image to a piece of cream card stock which had been embossed with a Cuttlebug frame folder.  Thanks for stopping by!

FRESH STRAWBERRIES

We have been getting a few strawberries from our little garden which made me remember this stamp that I have had for such a long time and failed to use.  Actually the gingham background is another stamp that I have never used.  It seemed like a fun background to use for the stamped image.

SU FRESH VINTAGE - #4

I rarely make a card with this much yellow but once again I saw one on Pinterest and thought it made such a cheery card.  My flower is completely different and I did the butterflies and sentiment differently too.

Be sure to come back tomorrow because I have a perfect seasonal card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

SU FRESH VINTAGE - #2

Another idea from Pinterest.  I used a different color and a different sentiment.

SU FRESH VINTAGE - #1

A card I saw on Pinterest is the inspiration for this card.  The bow I added is a little different and on my card I added an embossed border on the left and right hand edges of the card.  I used Bashful Blue cardstock, ink and ribbon for this card.   I'm sorry I was not able to get a very good picture of it since it is such a light color.

I actually made two cards like this.  The first one (above) was made for a good friend who has been struggling with her health for nearly 2 months. She has been in the hospital a couple of times and is now receiving physical therapy.   I should have sent a card sooner, but kept thinking that she would be coming home soon.

The second card I made like this says "Happy Anniversary" at the bottom and is a card I will hold and send to my sister and her husband late in July.  I plan to make another card like this in a darker color but I need to find some ribbon that will match my paper.

PENNY BLACK - Trees and Birds

The colors on the picture are lighter than on the card IRL.  I took a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of card stock and cut out a circle with a Spellbinders die to use as a "stencil".  I placed this piece over another 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of white card stock and sponged Daffodil Delight ink into the opening.  The tree and bird stamps are from Penny Black.  Sentiment is a retired stamp from Hero Arts.

Next I trimmed down the image layer and added it to a slightly larger brown mat, and then onto a yellow mat before adding it to the white card front.

I've done a similar card but stamped the tree and birds with black ink as a silhouette.  I thought it might be fun to see what it looked like in color.

If you like the stamps, let me know and I can order them for you.........and at a discount.  Thanks for stopping by!

MORE POPPIES

This is another stamp set from Rubbernecker.com  I like working with two-step stamps.

POPPIES

Today's card was made using a two-step design from Rubbernecker.com.  I colored the design with markers and then spritzed lightly with water.

Before finishing the card above, I had stamped another piece with the same design and colors.  "Haste makes waste" as they say.  In my "rush" to get it finished I accidentally stamped the sentiment UPSIDE DOWN!!!  I didn't want to throw away the stamped piece so I decided to trim the poppies and the card below is my "save".  I'm not thrilled with the card, but just wanted to save the design.  The sentiment and poppies are both popped with foam dots.

Please take a moment to tell me what you think of the results.  Thank you for stopping by!

MY 1000TH POST!!!!

I couldn't believe it when I saw that yesterday's card was No. 999!!!  So today I have tried to pick out a special card for you to see.

Well, it isn't one that I made in the last few days especially for my 1000th post, but it is so much different than any other cards I have made.  It was made at a Stampin Up workshop.

Thank you so much to those of you have been following my blog.  Your comments are always appreciated!

SIMPLE BUT ELEGANT

At the last workshop we made this card which was super easy!  My first instinct was to use it for Easter, but by using different colors it would also make a wonderful design to use for Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Get Well or Sympathy.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

GET "WHALE" SOON

This was a card we made at the last workshop I attended.  We brayered navy ink onto the inside of one side of the folder before embossing the white card stock.  The whale and "water" are from an SU stamp set.

CUTE PUNCHED LION

I'm sorry it has been a few days since I've posted again.  I keep thinking things will slow down but.............

Recently I saw this card on the PawsN2Stamp blog.  Char is a member of our Yahoo group.  My husband's nephew has a little girl celebrating a birthday this weekend.  My mother-in-law asked me to make a card for her and I thought of that cute little lion immediately.

I used SU punches and Spellbinders Classic circle dies to make the shapes.  Char used wiggle eyes but I couldn't find mine so I just used small punched circles.  I hope Morgan like her card.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JAMIE AND JASON

June 1, 1996

Today I find myself wondering how I can possibly be old enough to have a daughter who is old enough to be celebrating the 17th Anniversary of when she got married.  She and her husband actually celebrated this past Sunday because one of their daughters is on a traveling softball team that is in a tournament today.  Wish I could be there but seasonal allergies are beginning to bug me.

This card was made at a Stampin Up workshop in April.

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
