The retired papers I used are from the Stampin' Up! "Tidings of Christmas" collection.  I ran across a card like this on Pinterest and since I had the papers, I decided to CASE the one I saw.  Tina Rappe had posted this card on her blog in November 2021.  One difference is the shape I used for the sentiment.  The other difference is that I had assembled all of the pieces on the dsp mat and then onto the Soft Succulent card stock piece.  It turned out that it was too large to add to an A2 card base and leave and white border.  Instead I just added it to the white card base anyway.  It works.

Happy Birthday, Abby!

I had made an accordion card like this for Halloween and decided to make one similar for one of our granddaughters who is celebrating her birthday today.  I had seen a video that had changed up the right hand side inside with a little opening.  With that opening, I added a little pocket for the money that we give each of them for their birthdays.  I have searched the YouTube video so I could include a link but cannot find it.  I need to learn to make a note of it!

I loved the colors of this paper.  It is retired and I'm not sure if I have any of it left.

The Tuesday, November 4 video by Rita Holmes usedt this layout.  I had just received the Stampin' UP! "Lovely Garden" dsp from the Last Chance items and decided to use one of the patterns to give it a try.  It isn't necessary, but she and I chose a paper that I could use both sides.

After making the first one, I decided to make one for Christmas.  For this one I added a white mat before adding the pieces to the card base.  This card gave me the chance to use more retired dsp.

This card really is made out of leftover pieces!  I had a lot of strips with the trees and wanted to see what I could make with them.  

I started by cutting 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white to use as a base.  The green "speckled" dsp is all one piece so I added it to the middle of the white card stock.  Then I added the tree strips to the top and bottom.  Next came the trees in the middle.  I wasn't satisfied with the look and I had narrow strips of Real Red card stock and decided to use them.

The card base was already on my table and I had cut off a portion of the right side.  After measuring, I cut the dsp piece down to 3 1/4" x 5 1/4" and added it to the front flap.

The white card stock for inside was going to show when the card is closed, so I embossed a narrow design onto the right side.

Not too bad for being made with a bunch of leftover pieces.

These two scrap pieces weren't quite the right size but I was able to make them work.  In fact, when I had them laying on the table, I was going to use the reverse sides but when I went to add the adhesive, I decided to make the switch.  

When the pieces were placed side by side, they didn't quite measure 3 3/4" x 5" but by expanding just a little and adding the green strip, it all worked out.

I have just one more card that I will post tomorrow and then I can say ANOTHER PAPER BITES THE DUST!  LOL

I had a small poly bag with scraps of the Stampin' UP! retired "Be Merry" designer papers.  I was determined to make use of what I could so that I could cross that paper off of my list!

This was one of the first cards I made.  The 3 cute little punched ornaments are from a set of 3 punches that I have had for a long time and not made good use of them.  I also punched three more to add to the lower left corner of the inside.

Sunday evening I was checking out some YouTube videos for making cards.  I ran across a couple that were using the retired Stampin' UP! Boughs of Holly dsp.  I really like one that was made like this only using a horizontal layout  By making it vertically I could get a lot more cards from the dsp.

The lady making the cards on the video used a piece of dsp measuring 4" x 5 1/4".  To me that was a waste of the beautiful paper since so much was covered up.  I took a few minutes and using copy paper came up with what I needed.

I used a border die from Stampin' Up like she did in the video.  I had a full 12" x 12" pieces of the dsp and wanted to get the most cards possible.  I started by cutting strips of 4" x 12" strips and then cutting them down to 2" for a total of 18 pieces.

The white card stock was cut to 4" x 4 1/8" and then using the die cut the card stock into the two pieces needed.  

In order to assemble and achieve the right size for the front of a card,  I had 4" x 5 1/4" pieces of copy paper for the pieces to be assembled.  I just placed the bottom white piece on the copy paper, slipped the dsp under just far enough and drew a line along the top edge.  Then I adhered the dsp to the copy paper, added the bottom piece and the top piece.  

Once I got the first two done it went very quickly.  The assembled pieces were then added to the card base.  I added a white card stock piece inside for the sentiment which was also stamped with Real Red ink.

A couple of months ago I bought two Spellbinders 3D embossing folders.  They are  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and I was able to make two cards out of each piece.  This is from the Holiday Floral Swag.  The patterns are just beautiful!

This is from the other half of that same piece.....totally different look.  This piece didn't allow a space for stamping a sentiment so I added the little circle.  The designs are perfect for quick and easy holiday cards.  

A couple of months ago I posted a picture of a wedding card I made using the other embossing folder.

It's November 3 and I'm already behind.  The cards I posted for November 1 and 2 were actually just posted but dated for those two days.  

Saturday I was looking for something different in my Christmas/Holiday papers when I ran across a poly envelope with twelve 4" x 5 1/4" pieces with the trees and strips of the green with gold dots.  I have no idea where these papers came from but I do know they aren't from Stampin' Up!.  The papers are not double sided.  I was pleased that the color of the lighter trees in the paper matched the retired  SU Pear Pizzazz card stock which I still have.

Anyway, Saturday I put all 12 cards together except for the sentiment on the front.  Yesterday I was able to complete those pieces and the sentiment on the inside which was stamped on white card stock.
