EASTER CARD #2

Card #2 for one of the Granddaughters was made using a stamp set from Penny Black.  I used four stamps from the set:  chicks, basket, bunny and "chicks rule".  I thought she would get a kick out of the "chicks rule" being added.  The designs were colored with Copic markers and I added little touches of "grass" with a marker under each of the designs..  "Happy Easter" is a stamp from Darcie's.  The design was matted with a narrow border of SU lavender card stock and then added to a turquoise card base.

EASTER CARD #1

Today's card is the first of Easter cards for our Grandchildren that I will be posting this week.  This cute design is from Darcie's and I have had it for a long time.

I stamped the design and colored with Copic markers.  I added the sentiment carefully by using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure it was centered and even.  The SU lavender paper went well with the tulips so I cut the mat to 4" x 5 1/4".  I realized that there would be a border at the bottom of the mat so I embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder and added a scored line above it before adding the stamped design to it. (The scored line doesn't show up very well in the picture.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GEORGIA

Georgia is a member of our Yahoo group and today she is celebrating her birthday!  I made made this card a few weeks ago and knew that I wanted it to go to someone special.   Georgia is special.  :)  I hope she is having a really great day!

This is a Tutti design die that I used.  I cut it from white card stock and colored it with Copic markers.  It was cut with "Stick-It" backing on the card stock.  After adhering it to the card base, I inserted the large piece of white that would have been discarded back into the design.  It was the perfect place for a nice vertical sentiment.  The sentiment stamp is from The Stamp Barn, a Canadian stamp company.  Because I really like the sentiment and the font,  I also have the same sentiment in a horizontal format.  (I'm afraid the sentiment doesn't look like it is perfectly straight.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  I'm always happy to help if I can.  Thank you for stopping by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Pick A Petal

This was an easy card to do.  I always like black and white cards with a little color added.  I stamped the petals and cut them out.  I used the smallest Spellbinders circle die to cut a center for the flower.

When I started to assemble the card I had a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of the black dotted designer paper.  FIrst I put the flower center on the card with a glue dot which left the edges of the yellow piece loose.  The petals were added with a short strip of adhesive on the back side of the large end and tucked under the center of the flower.

The border was made with a Martha Stewart punch.  After I took the picture, I thought it needed a final touch so I added a little yellow butterfly made from the same paper as the flower center.  (Can you imagine seeing it?)

EASTER CARD by Taryn

Our youngest granddaughter (age 10) LOVES making cards and every time she is here she wants to play with my things.  When it comes to dealing with the Cuttlebug, she needs no instructions.  She's been making cards with me for several years. She even teaches her older sister what to do when she is here too.

This isn't the best picture, but she chose a light pink card stock for her base and then embossed the design around the edge with a Stampin' Up! folder.  The tulips were done using colors of her choice and are from a SU set.

She also has to decorate the inside of her card which is pictured below.  She nearly always begins with "making grass" with a Martha Stewart punch.  The designs below are all stickers that I had and I told her to use whatever she wanted to make her own design.  Of course if you have grass you have to have a sky so she stamped a hot air balloon and rainbow and then die cut two clouds.  She colored the hot air balloon and rainbow with the same colors she had used on the tulips on the card front.   It is so fun to see what she comes up with.

CUTTLEBUG ANNA GRIFFIN DIE

This card was an experiment.  I have used this die before but in a much different way.  The white card stock was added to a  "Stick-It" adhesive sheet and cut using the Cuttlebug.  After cutting, I colored the entire piece with Copic markers.  After peeling off the backing of the adhesive, I adhered it to the white card base and then sponged an SU ink which happened to match nicely with the light coral color on the flowers.  There was a little space at the bottom that looked like it need a tiny sentiment.

To be truthful, I'm not "in love" with this card.  Your opinions are always welcome though so feel free to tell me what you think.

STAMPENDOUS - Flower Cross

Recently two friends came to our home and we made cards for a nursing home where we know many of the residents.  We made a simpler version of this card for the staff there to hand out to the residents..

To simplify we did not add the layer of embossesd dots.  We also colored the flowers with a light lavender and matted with the same color.
