CALYPSO CORAL AND DAFFODIL DELIGHT

Today's card was made using a new embossing folder from SU and another color combination that is a little unusual for me. 

 

I embossed a strip of white card stock to place on top of the white card base.  Since I wasn't embossing the entire front of the card, I didn't want just a partial area of embossing showing on the inside of the card.  Then I added a piece of the Calypso Coral/Daffodil Delight floral design from the Watercolor Wonder dp.

 

The sentiment was stamped with an old Hero Arts stamp that I hadn't used for a long time and added to a Calypso Coral mat.  After adding the matted sentiment to the card I stamped two little flowers from Petite Petals.  One was added with a foam dot.

PANSY PUNCH AND PETITE PETALS

Yesterday while checking out Pinterest, I ran across a card made using these colors and just loved it.  You can see Georgia's original card here.

 

In order to make mine a little different, I used one of the stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add the splattered background to the white card stock.  I then punched out the flower so that the Watercolor Wonder paper would show through  The bright orange flowers were stamped with one of the designs in the Petite Petals stamp set and added with foam dots.  I chose a different sentiment for my card and used a stamp that I hadn't used in a very long time.

 

The mat is Island Indigo and the card base is Calypso Coral.   Thank you so much for stopping by today!

TUCKER'S FIRST COMMUNION

Weather was supposed to be rainy all day but although it was very windy, we were blessed with NO rain until after we got home.  It was a special celebration for all these children.

FIRST COMMUNION CARD #4

I needed one more card for Tucker so this is the last one I made.  The Stampin' Up! Soft Sky card stock was a really nice color to use for a boy's card.  The dies are all from Spellbinders.

 

By keeping the envelope liner die in a basket on my table I find I am more apt to use it.  Lining an envelope with a coordinating paper really gives a great finishing touch to the greeting you want to send.

OUR 1ST COMMUNION CARD TO TUCKER

 

 

Today is Tucker's big day.  He will be receiving Communion for the very first time and his family will be there to celebrate his big day with him.  I hope to have a picture that I can post this next week.

 

The first time I made a card using this Spellbinders Cross die set, I made it for Easter.  It was like this except I put it on a Dotted Swiss background.  Since this card was for our Grandson, I was afraid the Dotted Swiss might look a little feminine for him so I used this Sizzix design instead.  I wanted to make the card even more special so I lined the envelope with the gold shimmer paper.

2ND FIRST COMMUNION CARD FOR TUCKER

 

This is the card my Mother-in-Law will give Tucker.  I embossed the front of the card with a Stampin' Up! embossing folder.  Then I stamped this design from Our Daily Bread with VersaMark and heat embossed with Egyptian Gold powder.   Spellbinders Labels were used to cut out and emboss the design which was then added to a piece of gold glimmer paper.  This is such a pretty design for First Communion or Confirmation.

FIRST COMMUNION CARD #1

 

Sunday our Grandson, Tucker, will be making his First Communion.  It's a big day for them.  I loved the design of one of the cards I made for Easter so decided to do it again on an off white card stock and a gold embossed cross.  This is the card my mother will be giving Tucker on Sunday.  The cross, embossing folder and punched leaves are all from Stampin' Up!

 

Check back tomorrow for the 2nd card I made which my Mother-in-Law will give him.
