MOTHER'S DAY #5

The stamp used on today's card is one of my all time favorites from Penny Black. It is called "Blush". I colored it with markers and then stamped it quickly three times without reinking. The Gold layer is SU paper and the brown ink used was SU Chocolate Chip. It's a quick card to make but I do like it.

MOTHER'S DAY #4

This is another card I made for Mother's Day using a Dreamweaver stencil and embossing paste. I colored the image with a stiple brush and SU inks. I then applied the embossing paste and when I removed the stencil, I added the crystal glitter. The embossed edge had been done before I added the design.

MOTHER'S DAY #3

I have a granddaughter here today. She is in Kindergarten and because of Kindergarten Roundup for the next year's class, she doesn't have school today.

Today's card doesn't need a lot of explanation. The only thing that doesn't show up very well is that I used my Scor-Pal to make the diagonal lines on the card base. I think the rest of the card speaks for itself. The stamp is from Penny Black.

MOTHER'S DAY #2

This was a fun card to make. I started with a card base made of SU Real Red card stock. I cut a piece of white card stock that was 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I put the stencil I was going to use on the paper and made a pencil mark of where I wanted to put the embossed edge and then ran the white layer through the Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls embossing folder. (Notice I didn't use the Swiss Dots this time.)

Next I put the stencil back onto the white layer and masked off the entire area around the stencil. I stippled red and green chalk into the design and then very carefully applied Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste. After removing the stencil, I shook Hero Arts Ultra Fine Prisma Glitter over the wet paste. This had to be put aside until the paste was completely dry.

When the embossing paste was dry, I adhered the white layer to the card base and then made the "Happy Mother's Day" piece and popped it on the front.

I feel the Black ink was just a little too bold for that design but I still like the card. Thanks for stopping by. Your comments on the blog are always appreciated!

MOTHER'S DAY #1

Mother's Day is coming up this next Sunday, and I have made several cards to sell in a local gift shop. The paper I used for this card is from a 6 x 6 Basic Grey "Two Scoops" paper pad. The "lace" piece was cut with a Spellbinders die.

Recently I was enabled by a friend to get a Cuttlebug alphabet die set for a real bargain so the first thing I did with it was to cut the letters for this card.

HERO ARTS - SILHOUETTE SPRAY G5311

Not too long ago I purchased the stamp I used on this card. I just discovered that it went perfectly with the paper I had purchased in the KaiserCraft paper pad. The reason I bought the pad of paper was because of a card I had seen on a blog. I thought I saved a picture of it but can't find it. (Does that happen to you too?)

I stamped the design using a VersaMagic ink pad and then added Crystal Stickles to the buds.

The card doesn't take any more explanation than that. I have more to post using these papers so keep watching. :)
