VALENTINE USING DESIGNER PAPER

My card base is white card stock.  I then cut two panels of these dp designs from the KaiserCraft "English Rose Collection" 6  x 6 inch pad.  The solid pink piece is actually a pre-formed die cut that was in the back of the pad.  Of course I wanted to use something Stampin' Up! on the project so once again I used the dies from the Hearts A Flutter set.

I discoverd that VersaColor Ash Rose ink works very well for stamping the sentiment inside.

I believe this will be the end of the Valentines for this year (but you never know).  Although I hope to be working on some of the taxes this weekend, I hope that Monday there will be something different posted using one of the new stamp sets from Stampin' Up!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

FOR A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOVES GLITZ

One of our granddaughters loves "glittzy" things so even though this isn't a very remarkable card (definitely not a winner), I know she will love all the sparkle.

The SU Real Red card stock.  The embossing folder I used on it is missing at the moment so I'm sorry I can't tell you who made that one. Five of the hearts were all cut using the Stampin' Up! "Hearts A Flutter" dies using glitter paper and the white one was plain card stock but embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.

One more Valentine tomorrow and then next week I will begin showing some of the newer Stampin' Up! supplies again.  Thank you so much for stopping by!

SIMPLE VALENTINE

Even simple Valentines can be pretty.  I used the Stampin' Up! Real Red card stock for the card base and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder.  The pretty heart was die cut with a Cheery Lyn "Two of Hearts" die.  I then added a red heart which had been cut with a die from one of my friends.......I'm not sure but I think it might be from QuicKutz.  The tiny bow is something I found in my basket of pieces and it has 3 very tiny gems on it.

Thank you for stopping by today!

PRECIOUS MOMENTS VALENTINE

I have a lot of Precious Moments stamps and don't think to use them very often.  When I started making Valentines for 2014 I remembered this cute little gal and pulled her out.

The sentiment is from Paper Inspirations.  I colored the little girl with Copic markers.

If you have any questions, just let me know.  I'm posting this just before I am ready to take off for part of the day.

Thank you for stopping by!

TWO VALENTINES

For this very simple card, I used the Memory Box "Heart Ensemble" die.  When I added it to the red dp from PapertreyInk I had to be very careful not to get too much glue on the back side, but the Tombow liquid glue worked out just fine.  I lined up the sentiment by using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

This card was made using the same Memory Box die and added it to a dp from a Basic Grey paper pad.  The solid pink is Lasting Impressions Guava Wash card stock and the solid heart was cut using the die from the Stampin' Up! Hearts a Flutter die set.

Just a note:  My schedule is going to be a irregular for the next few weeks so I'm not real sure if I'll get something posted every day.  (I need to get tax information ready for my mother, a daughter & her husband, and for ourselves which will take some time.)  I do hope you will continue to check back.  If you have signed up for the notices then you will be able to tell when there is something new.

Thanks for stopping by today!

2013 VALENTINE

As I schedule this card for posting, I know I'm going to have a busy day on Thursday (1/23) so I am showing you a Valentine that I actually made last year and was still in my tub of cards to use.

This is a Friday card so I hope you will be back on Monday.  Thank you for stopping by!

HEARTS A FLUTTER #2

I don't think, this card needs a lot of explanation, but if you have any questions about it, please let me know.  It was made using the same supplies that I used on yesterday's card.

Thanks for stopping by!

THE PAPER PLAYERS - Challenge #179

This challenge is to make a one-layer Valentine card.  The design I chose to use is a stamp from Penny Black.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with Copic markers.  The "Happy Valentine's Day" was also stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  I like the Onyx Black ink for sentiments when at all possible because it gives such a crisp image.

The challenge ends Friday, January 24 at Noon so there is still time to play.

HEARTS A FLUTTER

The Hearts A Flutter stamp and die set are so fun to work with.  You can purchase one or the other, but you can also purchase both as a bundle at a discounted price.

First of all I took my card base and used the Stampin' Up! heart border from the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Adorning Accents set and embossed the enter of the front.

I cut of strip of Real Red card stock to form a banner and then added the large heart to it.  I punched out a little red heart from the red glitter paper and place it off center.  It's a very simple card but I think the sparkle of the tiny heart really sets it off.  Let me know if you would be interested in the information for purchasing the stamp and/or die set.

Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to stop back again tomorrow for another Valentine made with this die/stamp set.

TIME FOR VALENTINE CARDS

Yesterday I made three cards for Valentine's Day.  I'll start off today with the very simple one first.  The others will be shown over the next few days.

I have the White Tea Lace Paper Doilies from Stampin' Up! and wanted to start off with one for this card.  And I decided rather than use the traditional red for the card base, I found a piece of Lasting Impressions card stock that had a dotted design.  Originally I was going to make it a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card.  Because of the round doily though I went with a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch card.

The two hearts were die cut with Lasting Impressions card stock using the Stampin' Up! Hearts A Flutter Framelits and then added to the center of the doily.

Very simple card to make.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop back each day this week for more Valentine cards made with Stampin' Up! Hearts A Flutter designs.

VIVID VASES #3

After using the Vivid Vases stamp last week on several cards, I happened to remember this Cuttlebug embossing folder and decided it was perfect for stamping the five vases above "Happy Birthday".

I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink but left off the wording which appears on the stamp just below the vases.  In order to get the vases in the right spot, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for placing the design.  I used SU markers to coloring in the blooms.  Since the card stock I used is from Papertreyink, I was able to use a C1 (Cool Gray 01) Copic Marker to put shading on the vases.  Sorry it doesn't show up really well on my photo.  My SU markers were all too dark to get the look I wanted.

It made a very simple one-layer card.  What do you think?

BLESSED EASTER #2

A different version of the card I posted this past Tuesday.  This time I cut and embossed the image and mat using two Spellbinders Labels 10.  Instead of embossing the front of the card , I decided I wanted to add some corner pieces.  When I was looking for some corner embossing folders, I found a set of 4 dies from Cuttlebug.  The one I used went so well with the image because as you can see it has little tulips as part of the design.  I cut four of them and then very carefully added just a touch of Tombow liquid glue.  When adding them to the card, I had to be careful to place them just right so the glue would not smear.

I'll hopefully have something new for you on Monday.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Stay safe out there..........the weather in a lot of the U.S. has been dreadful.  Last night there was a 25 car pile-up near where my brother lives and my daughter reported that two young mothers were in an accident and in serious condition.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

VIVID VASES - #2

Using the same stamp set again for this card, I used just three of the vases.  I covered the card base with a piece of the Sweet Sorbet dp.

Next step was to cut one of the SU White Tea Lace Doilies in half and add the top portion of it to a piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock.    In order to get the vases right where I wanted them I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position the design.  The image was then stamped so that part of the design was on the doily and part was on the card stock.

I paperpieced the vases once again.  I wasn't sure if it would work to color the flowers but I used the Daffodil Delight marker to color them and the color does show up.

I trimmed down the Pistachio Pudding layer.  Although the picture makes it look like the doily is on crooked, I did carefully measure so that the top edges were each 1 3/4" above the border.  (NOTE:  I had only attached the top edge of the doily at this point because I wanted to be able to hold the doily up in order to trim the bottom edge of the card stock.)

The Crisp Cantelope mat was cut so it would give borders of 1/4" on all sides.  Finally I added the design to the front of the card.

VIVID VASES

Wood Mount Only - $11.95

I'm a little late with my post for today.....I didn't take time to schedule it last night for this morning and then this morning I found myself visiting blogs and watching some video demos.

This is one of the new stamps.  It is available in wood mount only, but I really like it!  My first instinct was to check out Pinterest to see what others had made with it.  It is fun to paper piece and I saw some examples of that.

To begin I stamped the image on 5 pieces of white card stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I stamped all of the vases 5 times on some of the Sweet Sorbet designer papers.......trimmed them out and I had enough for 5 cards. I rarely make multiples of cards but it will be nice to have these designs done for future use.   The way I use them will vary.

One of the Sweet Sorbet papers was used for the background of the matted design and will be one of the items you can choose for free with a $50 order January 28-March 31 --- a $10.95 value!

Thanks for stopping by today!

BLESSED EASTER

Wood Mounted - $11.95

It's a little early to think about making cards for Easter, but one of the new stamps that was made available for sale January 3 - June 1, 2014, is the one called "Blessed Easter".  It is such a simple image to color and since CAS cards are what I tend to do, this was a stamp I knew I wanted.

Normally I stamp these images with black ink, but today I used Memento Rich Cocoa on off white card stock.  I colored the tulips with Barely Banana, Lavendar Lace, Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizzaz markers.  The image was cut out using the Framelits Labels Collection and the matting was cut out with the next larger die from that set using Barely Banana card stock.  The off white card base was embossed with my Swiss Dots embossing folder and then the matted image added using foam dots.  I like the soft colors for this Easter image but I can also see it being stamped with a bright yellow and red for the tulips blooms on white card stock.

This is another stamp that is available only as a wood mount stamp.  Would you like one?  Let me know.  Thanks for stopping by!

PEOPLE LIKE YOU

Wood mount only - $12.95

This is one of the new Stampin' Up! images that is available through June 1.  Although I am a fan of the clear mount stamps because they take less room, this is one that is only available as a wood mounted stamp.

I love the sentiment on it:  "The world is a better place because of people like you."  What a nice way to tell someone how special they are to you.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the image on a piece of white card stock.  The flower was colored with a Primrose Petal and Gumball Green marker.  I used the fine point of a Summer Starfruit marker to color the frame of the sentiment.

The image was trimmed down and added to a piece of dp that had been adhered to the Raspberry Ripple card base.  Although the blossoms had been colored with the lighter color, the shading of the stamped image made the color appear to be darker so that is why I chose the darker card stock for the card base.

Orders for any of the new items from the "Celebrate the everyday" brochure can be submitted at any time.  I will be featuring another of the new stamps soon......hopefully tomorrow.

Please come back again soon.  I appreciate your visits and your comments.

USING LOVE & SYMPATHY SET

Yesterday was an extremely busy day deliving items to my mother that she needed and visiting with her...........and then running errands to several places for myself.  By the time I got home I was too tired to think of posting something so today I am giving two different versions of the same stamp set I used on Wednesday's card.  I hope you like them.

I love the graceful flower from this stamp set so I decided to make more cards using just the flower.  The flower on both of these cards were stamped once and then a second time.

For this card I used Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade markers to color the image.  The image was then mounted on a second piece of white card stock using foam dots.  The mat is Wisteria Wonder card stock.  Before adding the layers to the card front, I embossed the edge of the card front using one of the folders from the set of SU Textured Impressions.

The colors used on this card are:  Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantelope.  I embossed a portion of the off white card stock using the Beautiful Baroque embossing folder.  My original plan was to add a tiny sentiment on the portion of the off white layer that is not embossed but that didn't work, so I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Sketched stamp set and then cut it out with the Decorative Label punch.  I lightly sponged the Pistachio Pudding ink around the edges and added it with foam dots.  The card base is Pistachio Pudding.

Remember if there is anything Stampin' Up! that you would like to order, I would be very happy to help you.  Thank you for stopping by!

LOVE & SYMPATHY

Wood Mounted $15.95
Clear Mounted $11.95

All of us find ourselves in need of a sympathy card from time to time and so many times we don't have one on hand.  So today, I chose the "Love & Sympathy" stamp set and stamped off the design several times using different color combinations.
 .
My first thought was to check out Pinterest just to get an idea going or I might not have gotten anything done.  I found a card that had the image stamped like this but I chose a simpler design for the overall card.

The Swiss Dots embossing folder is my "go to" folder so I embossed the front of the card with it.  The image was stamped on white card stock using Primrose Petals and Gumball Green inks.  The sentiment was stamped over the image using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

The image was then popped unto a second white layer using foam dots and then adhered to a Primrose Petals mat and added to the card front.  Three tiny pearls from Stampin' Up! were to the upper left hand corner and one to the center of the flower.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

FINALLY..........2 NEW CARDS

Today was the day I decided "enough is enough!!!  Let's try to get some juices flowing again.  It's been way too long."  It's late in the day, but I was determined to get something posted on my blog before the end of the day.

Horizontal version

Vertical version

My "goal" is to get back into making some cards.  I won't call it a "New Year's Resolution" because I don't seem to be able to ever keep those.

Making so many Christmas cards was a lot of fun, but then I got busy with other holiday preparations and activities.  Somehow that got me away from my stamping table.  Of course, reading, working with my husband on 2 puzzles and playing games on a tablet which was a present to myself  account for a lot of time.  Hopefully the break will have been a good thing and I can get back to creating.

These two cards are similar to a card we made at a workshop some time ago.  I don't think they need a lot of explanation so I will just let them speak for themselves and I will tell you the supplies I used for them.

Supplies:  Stampin' Up Black and Daffodil Delight card stock, Stampin' Up Black Scallop Dots Ribbon and the stickers are EK Success Jolee's Boutique from Michael's.

If you would like to order any of the Stampin Up items, please contact me and we will make the arrangements.
