HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDY!

One of our friends is celebrating her birthday today.......at least I hope she celebrates after work.  This card was made using three Memory Box dies.....Peaceful Butterfly Wings, Delicate Butterfly Arch, and Solid Arch Background.  I'm really going to need to use these more often to justify buying them but I just loved the card I saw made with them.  The card stock is Stampin' Up! So Saffron.

WITH SYMPATHY

The "Wild Blooms" Memory Box die was used on the top SU Night of Navy card stock.  I then matted it onto a piece of white card stock and again on Night of Navy before adding it to the white card base.  The little butterfly is one that I trimmed from the design of "Delicate Butterfly Arch" Memory Box die.

Although I made the card and didn't know what I when I would use it, my mother wanted to send a sympathy card to someone whose mother had passed.  I decided this card could work for that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JASON

Our son-in-law, Jason, turns the big 4-0 today.  Our daughter was the hostess for a nice birthday party at a local restaurant/bar on Friday night.  Jason doesn't like cake, so for his card he just got the candles.

The candles are each 3/4" wide and 3" tall.  The flames were made using the wing of the Stampin' Up! bird punch.  The card base is Night of Navy card stock and the candles are from Night of Navy dp patterns.  The mat and flames are gold glitter "paper".....quotation marks because I'm not sure you'd call it "paper".  It is very stiff.

Although I made changes to my card, it was inspired by one I found on Pinterest.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

CARD FOR A GUY?

This card used the Cuttlebug "Friends Forever" embossing folder that I used on Monday.    I like how the Memory Box "Chloe Stem" has a variation of that same design.  Doing the card in brown and ivory card stock, I think this would work to send to a guy.  What do you think?

Thank you for stopping by!  Hope you'll come back again on Monday.

ANOTHER "CHOE STEM"

The picture makes the "Chloe Stem" look darker than the dp but I'm pretty sure it is also SU Island Indigo.  I think the card needs something more, but not sure what.  I thought about a little yellow bow at the base of the die cuts but I didn't have the right color of ribbon.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for checking in today!

ANNIVERSARY CARD FOR KRIS

Using the same layout and colors of a card I made a few months ago, I made this card for a friend of mine who celebrated their anniversary on August 17th.  I didn't want to post it here too soon but I'm sure she has received it by now.

When I made the earlier card, I used a stamp from the Stampin' Up! "Too Kind" stamp set and added a little butterfly.  Today's card used the Memory Box "Chloe Stem" die.  The yellow dp, Island Indigo strip, checked strip and die cut were all made with SU papers.  Three of the SU Regal Candy Dots were added instead of a little butterfly.   I really like this color combination but it could certainly be done in a variety of colors. Since I had these papers on my table tomorrow's card will be using the same colors.

Thank you for stopping by today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMMA!

I think I may have posted a card similar to this in the past.  The dp is from SU and the cute stacked ice cream cone is from Inkadinkado.  I colored the design with SU markers and mounted on SU matching card stock.

This card used the same SU dp but the ice cream cone is from a Hero Arts clear acrylic stamp set "Fantastic Birthday".  Once again I used SU markers to color the design and used SU card stock to mat the design.

Emma turns 13 today...........another teenage granddaughter.  Where do the years go?  These cards were made for the Great-Grandmothers to send her.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Hope you will come back again soon.

GLITTERY BUTTERFLY

Recently I posted two cards that featured larger butterflies made with this glitter paper.  I still had some close to my craft table so I decided to make up several more butterflies.  This one was made from a Spellbinders Grand Shapabilities "Wonderful Wings" die set.  The set has five different butterflies which include a solid and a detailed design.  I wasn't sure what I was going to use for the card base but decided just to use the "Friends Forever" Cuttlebug folder which also includes a die with several sentiments.

After attaching the butterfly, the card was just lacking something so I went through my gems and found some pink ones that seemed to finish off the card.

Be sure to come back Friday and I have another card using this embossing folder, but I hope you'll come back again each day until then.  Thank you for stopping by today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA

A friend of my mother gave me a list of cards to make for her again and one was for a guy.  I had just received this new Happy Birthday die from Memory Box.  I dabbed very tiny dots of Tombow liquid glue in vital places.  Trying to hold the die cut in the proper shape while adding it to the card was a challenge because it is such a delicate and large piece.....but I think I got it on OK.  The two borders are also from a Memory Box die.  The dotted paper is Not Quite Navy dp from Stampin' Up!

WILD BLOOMS

Today's card once again used the Wild Bloom die.  Very easy card to make.  Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue cardstock and satin ribbon was used.  The ribbon was added to the top two layers before adding those layers with foam squares.  Simple but I think so pretty.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit!

MEMORY BOX "WILD BLOOMS"

For today's card, I ran the white card base through the Cuttlebug using a Sizzix embossing folder.  The pink mat for the die cut was cut and embossed using a Spellbinders die.  I was able to control the cut of the die pretty well, but had a two small places where the die had started to cut so I coverd them with the little white bow.

SAME STAMP - DIFFERENT OCCASIONS

I'm sorry I missed posting something yesterday.  I was a little distracted and the day got away from me.  So today I will show you two cards that I made using the same stamp.

I needed a sympathy card for the family of a lady who had died here recently.  The floral design is from an Inkadinkado clear acrylic set.  The sentiment is from the "Love and Sympathy" Stampin' Up! set.  I colored the image with Stampin' Up markers.

Then using the same design I made a happier card to use when I needed something for someone's birthday.  This one was mounted vertically although I prefer the horizontal.   I colored this one with an SU Lovely Lilac marker.

Your comments are always welcome and appreciated.  Thank you for stopping by today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TARYN!

Tomorrow is our granddaughter Taryn's birthday.  She will be 8 years old.  This is the card we have sent her and hope it arrives on time.  This cute little ice cream cone is from a set of 3 stamps from DeNami.  The other two designs are a piece of cake and an ice cream sundae.  The black scalloped frame around each of the cones is from a separate set of 3 stamps from DeNami and the sentiment is also from a 3 piece set from DeNami.

I colored the designs with SU Markers and then cut scalloped squares with Spellbinders dies to mat the images.  I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture, but the card base was embossed with a folder that has random dots.

Taryn won't be celebrating her birthday until a week from today.  When the movie "Frozen" came out Taryn (along with so many other children) fell in love with it and made a video of herself singing "Let it Go" which was hilarious!

Her party is going to be awesome and I would love to be a "mouse in the corner" when she gets a big surprise.  Naturally it is going to have a "Frozen" theme.   The only thing I had to go along with "Frozen" for her card was ice cream.   Her mother has hired a professional to come dressed as Elsa from the movie Frozen and she will be having her picture taken with her in front of "snowflake" drop behind them.  Her birthday cake is going to be a Castle and they are having a Candy Buffet with all blue and white candies.

We bought her a "Frozen" game to add to their Infinity game.  Taryn is the youngest of our daughter's four children and I think this is a case of spoiling the baby in the family.  :)

What do you think?  Thanks for stopping by!

CUTTLEBUG "FLOWER VINE" DIE

This die cut design was one used on a card in the class I took in Des Moines.  I knew I'd be using it frquently for various types of cards so I ordered it when I got home.  The die cuts and embosses.  Unfortunately my picture doesn't do a very good job of showing off the embossing.

The card is so easy to make.  I used a tri-fold card and mounted a piece of light green vellum behind the open window and then added the Flower Vine using small dots of Tombow Liquid glue on the various parts of the design that would attach to the card front.  Then I matted the sentiment with a small square of the green vellum and taped it down to the front of the card.

I think these make such beautifully elegant cards.  What do you think?  Thanks for stopping by today!

SU BACKYARD BASICS BUTTERFLIES

Today's card was made using the color combination of Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantalope.  I also used the Pistachio Pudding dp to trim the card.  The Backyard Basics stamp set also has coordinating dies.  Love this set!  The card isn't quite 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 when folded because I had a small smudge on the bottomand decided to trim the top and bottom edges.

A VIRTUAL CARD TO A FRIEND

When I was in 6th, 7th and 8th grades, I attended a church camp in Clear Lake, Iowa during a week each summer.  I loved going there.  I met one girl there who I remained friends with for a very long time and we would stay in each other's homes during summer vacations after that.  We lost touch for a long time but reconnected through Facebook a while back.  I don't have her address so I'm going to post this card and tag her with the photo so she knows I'm thinking of her on her birthday.  All these years later I still remember it.

I love this Stampin' Up! Thinlets Label Die.  I saw a card very similar on Pinterest.   I used a different stamp from the same stamp set - the Hostess Set "I Like You" and colored it adding some yellow to my design.  I didn't have any of the gathered ribbon she used as an embellishment so I just cut a strip of the same Costal Cabana card stock and embossed it with a Cuttlebug border folder.

Your comments are always appreciated so if yu have time, I'd love to hear from you.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

TULIPS IN BLOOM

I ordered this Memory Box die last Spring, I believe, but had not used it yet.  I have several dies that I "had to have" but have not been out of their folders.  As you have probably read from previous posts, I do love to spend time getting ideas from Pinterest.  What a great site for those of us who are not always very creative on our own.   I saw a card similar to this but it was done in all white but with a dark green background where mine is yellow vellum.   The card I cased can be seen here: Silhouette Tulips by frenziedstamper Until I took the class in Des Moines back in June, I rarely made "window" cards but now I can't get enough of them.  You'll see another one later this week.

I wish I had the die that she had used for the frame, but I chose a Cuttlebug folder and embossed around the oval already in the tri-fold card.  The sentiment was stamped on a tag from Spellbinders and popped with foam squares.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Thank you for taking time to stop by today!

MORE PEEL-OFF STICKERS

It is so hard to believe that today is August 1st already!!!  Our local schools will begin classes on the 18th!!!  It is also going to be a busy birthday month for us here.......my mother turns 92, one of our son-in-laws will be 40, a granddaughter will be 16, and two other granddaughters will be 7 and 13.  I'd better get started soon on cards for them.

These three cards were made much the same way as the ones yesterday.  Because of the size of these designs, I did take them off the sheet and placed them face down on my craft sheet again before laying the acrylic on top of them.

Next week I'll be moving on to something different.  I hope you'll come back again on Monday.............but thank you for stopping by today!
