Mount Rushmore is truly a National Treasure! As you enter, the Avenue of Flags features flags from the states......what a beautiful site!
Naturally I want a close up of Iowa's state flag.
Two of the views of the Mount Rushmore carving which if I remember correctly took 14 years to complete. It was funded through government funds.
The man responsible was 57 years old already when the project was started. It is magnificent!!!

Great pictures. Vicki, have you ever gone to the closing ceremony at Mt. Rushmore? It is really extremely touching and so worth going to. If not, plan to do it next time you go that way.
