HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LYNETTE!

Lynette, is celebrating her birthday today  It's very cold where she lives so I hope she is able to still do something special.   I believe a wintery card is very fitting the weather that they are having.

This cute little snowman is "Snowy", a stamp from Penny Black.  I've had it for quite awhile but hadn't ever used it.  Not sure why because he is so cute.  When Penny Black came out with the matching die, then I knew I would be more likely to use the stamp.  This is my first project.

I used the "Softly Falling" embossing folder on SU Bashful Blue card stock and placed it behind the Memory Box "Woodland Oval" die cut.  Some snowflakes from a Penny Black "Snow Time" die were added.  To finish off the card, I added some glitter under Snowy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LYNETTE!

Earlier I had cut out some of these ornaments from the Stampin' Up! Keepsake Ornament dies. I still had this one on my craft table and wanted to get it finished.  The gold is a textured gold metallic paper.  The designer paper is from Stampin' Up!

Thank you for coming by today!  By the way.....I don't usually post on Saturdays and Sundays, but I have a couple more holiday cards that I will be showing so be sure to stop back again.  My favorite will be posted on Christmas Day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER-IN-LAW

My brother-in-law loves to golf.  Recently I had purchased the Tutti die for the golf bag so I turned to Pinterest for an idea to begin. The trees in the background were stamped with one from the Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree set.

This card is similar except the card I saw didn't have a golf bag.  It was just the "18th" hole and the ball.  The dimensions are a little out of whack but I think he'll still like it.

Thanks for stopping by today!

SANTA'S ON HIS WAY

#1
I have a nephew and two nieces who have small children and thought it would be fun to send their families a card that the children could enjoy.   The card base for this one is SU Not Quite Navy.  I used a stamp from the SU Gorgeous Grunge set to stamp the snow with Craft White ink.  The white piece was added.   "Believe" is from Penny Black, trees from Impression Obsession and Santa is from Taylored Expressions.  I used a Spellbinders circle to cut the moon.

#2
Instead of using Not Quite Navy for the card base, I added a 4" x 5 1/4" piece to a white card base.  This one shows a town setting cut from a Penny Black die.  These two cards were really fun to make.

REJOICE

This past summer when our group of ladies gathered in June, I saw a card very similar to this at the stamp store where we spend our time together sharing supplies and ideas.

The angel is a Sue Wilson Creative Expressions die and the "Rejoice" is a Penny Black die.  I stamped the card base with a "Music Background" stamp from Penny black in a gold metallic ink.  The card stocks used were ivory and a textured metallic gold.  This was one of my favorite cards that I made this year and I only made one.

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

I started with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and used a die from a retired Stampin' Up! set to cut the "window" for the scene.  I used a small piece of SU Pool Party card stock to emboss with the Softly Falling folder.  The trees and the houses were cut using an SU Sleigh Ride die set and added to the embossed piece.  The card base was assembled and snowflakes from a Penny Black die were added.

GENTLY FALLING SNOWFLAKES

The basic design for this card came from one I saw on Pinterest.  The one I saw used a different embossing folder but I really like the "Gently Falling" one from SU for mine. Instead of a red snowflake I decided I really like the Pool Party color much better for the middle one. The card I saw also added the embossed layer to a white card base but I liked it better with the Pool Party card base.  The Snowflake Ribbons are from Memory Box.  I really like how this card came together.

Thank you for coming by today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend but make sure you come back again on Monday because there are more to come.

STAMPIN' UP! KEEPSAKE ORNAMENT

I'm not sure this card needs much explanation.  The "Joy" die is from a set of three words and I'm sorry I don't remember where I got them.  I can find out if you are interested.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASHLYN!

I have mentioned before that two of our granddaughters love playing with alcohol ink.  When they were here just before school started, they made some pieces for me and challenged me to make cards with them.. This is one of them.......

I wasn't real sure what to do with it but I did manage to make three cards from it.  This one is my favorite.  Two of them have been on my blog previously but I had mentioned the third one would be shown for our granddaughter's birthday.  Today she is 17!

These dies are such a great way to use alcohol ink pieces.  There was a small piece left and I hated to waste it so I cut the dragonfly with a Penny Black die.  I think she will enjoy getting a card to which she contributed.

Thank you for coming by today!  Tomorrow it is back to Christmas.

STAMPIN' UP! BELLS AND BOUGHS

This is a card I actually made last year - not sure if I posted it then or not.  I found it today hidden in the case with this stamp set.  I think I must have put it there to use as an idea for this year.  I think I may make a few more of this one because I have a lot of cards to make yet.

I stamped the design with black and colored.  The ribbon was colored with a gold gel pen.  The Cherry Cobbler strip was embossed with an SU folder..

STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge

Surprise!  I have a second card for you today.  I saw this challenge and just had to take part in it.

The striped designer paper is from a Stampin' Up! paper pack.  The ornament is from a set of SU  ornament dies..  The "Greetings" which doesn't show up very well here was cut using gold glossy card stock with a Penny Black die.

Thank you for coming by today!

A MERRY CHRISTMAS

The two snowflakes cut with SU Pool Party card stock were made using a "snow time" die from Penny Black.  The set contains four snowflakes....two designs - each in two sizes.  The rest of the card is totally from Stampin' Up! supplies.  I finally broke down and bought the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I love it!

After I embossed the white card stock (4" x 5 1/4") I used a die from the SU Festive Flurries die set.  Before adding it to the card base, I had to place the die cut trees behind the snowflake window.   I used the MISTI to stamp the sentiment inside the opening.

Today is Friday so I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Be sure to stop back next week because I'm going to have more to show you.

CHRISTMAS "PEACE" #2

The embossed front was actually done on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white card stock. I prefer not to have the embossing show through the inside of the card when possible.  The designs have deer and trees so I used a set of Impression Obsession dies for the evergreens and "snow tipped" them with a white gel pen.  The pretty "Peace" is from a Penny Black die.

CHRISTMAS "PEACE"

I started by cutting the Memory Box "Fractal Snowflake" from glitter paper.  I was going to add it to white card stock but it actually looked better on the ivory card stock.  I matted with red.  I'm sorry I don't know which company makes the "peace" die that I used.  There was going to be an open space at the bottom of the card so I embossed it with a Cuttlebug snowflake border folder.

PENNY BLACK WHIRL WREATH

This is about as easy as it gets.  I cut the Penny Black Whirl Wreath out of a textured metallic gold paper.  It was added to the card with spray adhesive.  The red bow and "Joy" die cut were also added using the spray adhesive and I was done.

I have more to come so keep stopping by each day!

LET CHRISTMAS CARDS BEGIN

Well, things have quieted down somewhat next door with the building going on.  I got motivated over the weekend to get some Christmas cards ready to post. I'll start you off with one of the more simple cards.

This one was made using a Stampin' Up! die from the Ornament Keepsakes set.  I cut it from gold metallic paper.  There is also a "solid" ornament the same shape which I used to cut the "window" in the navy card stock.  After matting the navy layer with white, I inserted the gold ornament back into the window and added some tiny metallic ribbon.

The lower corner of the navy looks scuffed but it is just a reflection of light that I didn't catch in time.  I have a variety of holiday cards I'll be posting so I hope you will come back and check them out.

Thanks for coming back today.

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
