EASTER "CARDS" FOR GRANDCHILDREN

This was such a fun project!  The first one took a little time.  I made eight more boxes - six of them like the one above with the contents a little different in each one.  The cute little figures in the box are from two different Lawn Fawn stamp/die sets......Chirpy, Chirp and Eggstra Special Easter.  The dies have a little different name.  The pretty designer paper on the box is from Stampin' Up!  They went together very quickly after making the initial one.  I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they open this one.  They always get holiday cards from us (with a little something inside) but this one is over the top from what they usually get.

I have one to use as a decoration for ourselves.  When my friends Carol and Joanne came to make Easter cards, I showed them how to do these and Carol decided to make them for her granddaughters.

Hope you all have a great Easter weekend!

STAMPIN' UP! - Just Buzzin' by #4

I saw the stamp set used this way on Pinterest but I changed the layout to a vertical one instead of horizontal.  I also had to use different designer papers.  The card base is black so I added a white liner inside to add my message.  I really like these stamps and since I sold the set, I'm awfully glad I stamped off a bunch of them before I let it go.

STAMPIN' UP! - Just Buzzin' by #3

This card shows the three different bees "buzzin' by".  I cut a piece of white card stock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", embossed it with the Hexagon folder and added it to the card base.  The colored designer paper is from a designer paper pad from Stampin' Up!

Thank you for coming by!  Just Buzzin' by #4 will be here tomorrow so I hope you stop back again!

STAMPIN' UP! - Just Buzzin' By #2

Using those cute little flowers again, I cased a card I saw on Pinterest  There are three different bees in the stamp set.  When I made the card base months ago, I stamped them randomly across the top edge using VersaMark ink to give a watermark.  They don't show up very well in this picture.  Once again I added glitter to the wings of the bee and the bee is mounted to the card using foam squares.

Thank you for stopping by!  There will be another one tomorrow.

STAMPIN' UP! - Just Buzzin' By #1

Yesterday I had lots of time to play at my craft table.  I stamped off a lot of images from the Stampin' Up! set preparing to sell it and decided to finally use some of them.  This is the first one I'm posting here for you to see.  All of the ideas came from Pinterest.  I added clear glitter to the wings of the little bee.

There will be another card from this set tomorrow so I hope you'll come back to check it out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRIS!

The die and cute little mouse are from Penny Black.  I've had it on my craft table ever since I ordered it.  The mouse was stamped on a small piece of card stock, colored and then added behind the die cut piece.  The die cut piece was then mounted on another piece of the white card stock and then added to the card base with foam squares.

DIMENSIONAL STICKERS

I didn't have anything prepared for today's post, so I'm showing you two cards I made months ago but didn't post at the time.  Dimensional stickers can make it so easy to put together a pretty presentation in just a matter of minutes.

The embossed parts of the cards were done on a separate piece of  white card stock and then adhered to the white card base.  I believe these dimensional flowers were from a set of K&Company stickers.

EASY EASTER CARD

This past Monday my friends, Carol and Joanne, met with me to make the 97 cards that we needed for Easter.  This is one of the designs we made.  I forgot to take a picture of the other one before I delivered them to the nursing home.

The solid and dotted pieces are Lasting Impressions paper that I am trying to get used up.  I die cut the crosses using a Spellbinders die from the Crosses Two die set. The die was cut and then embossed so it took 88 passes through the Cuttlebug!  The lavender mat was also cut and then embossed.  My Cuttlebug gets quite a work out preparing for these cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

FROSTY WILL BE MELTING

My friend Joanne (who helps make the 97 cards) made some of these before Christmas and gave one to my mother.  When my sister saw it she asked if I would get her the pattern.  The main pieces are all made with the envelope punch board.  Isn't he adorable?  And if you keep scrolling down you'll see he brings a little surprise with him.

If you look closely, you can see that the eyes and mouth are the pieces left after making the punches on the top of the hat.....very clever use!

My sister isn't going to be able to punch these pieces herself since she doesn't have a punch board.  She only needs two so I offered to give her the pieces to assemble.

A side view of the snowman shows that there is a little place to slide in a miniature candy bar.  The candy bar actually helps the snowman to stand.  When I made the score lines I followed the pattern.  I would have made the base a little wider so the bar could be flat on the bottom but this worked OK.

Spring is getting closer so I'm afraid "Frosty" and my other wintry items will be stored away for a few months.  Thanks for coming by!

TATTERED LACE - Morning Chorus Tapestry

I purchased this die at our TCE*** Group Gathering a couple of years ago.  Tattered Lace dies are expensive but for some reason I thought I had to have this one.  I definitely need to use it more often to justify the cost.  Their dies are more intricate than some and they do cut very well and have such beautiful designs.

The paper I used  is Stampin' Up'! So  Saffron.   The die leaves an entire frame around the entire design but I cut off the top and side portions of the frame which made it possible to mount the matted piece onto a So Saffron card base.

Square cards are not something I do very often.  Since square envelopes require additional postage,  I still use the A2 envelopes.

*** TCE = Our group is called The Creative Embossers.  We did start off making our cards using brass stencils for most of our designs.  We gradually found ourselves doing more stamping and using dies than using brass stencils but have kept the name.

TUTTI - Butterfly Scroll Die

For this one I made a matching lined envelope.  The designer paper is from a paper pad that I have had for a long time.

The designer paper on the first card was lavender and white.  This designer paper from the same pack had an ivory color with the blue so I cut the pretty design from ivory card stock.

TUTTI - Butterfly Vine Border

This is such a pretty design that makes a really easy card.  I used some designer paper on the white card base and then added this die cut which I had sprayed with adhesive spray.  Not much else needs to be explained.  The die is actually a little too long to fit on the standard A2 size card that I normally make but i was able to trim off a portion to make it fit.

DISTRESSED BENSON CORNER

I have several corner dies like this, but this one is my very favorite.  It makes such a beautiful design and covers a good area of the card.  I cut it from white card stock and then layered it over the Ballet Blue card stock from Stampin' Up!  It leaves such a nice amount of space to add a variety of greetings.

Thanks for coming by today...........or I should say this evening since I am really late posting.

TUTTI DIE - Celebrate

I'm trying to get back into posting but it seems like I am seriously lacking motivation.  I did make the two cards below a few weeks ago so I thought I would show them to you.

The peach colored designer papers on both cards are from a paper pack and the "celebrate" was cut from ivory card stock.

Once again the colored designer papers are from that same paper pack.  Masculine cards area always difficult to make but I think I could do this card with different colors even though the die has three little flowers.  I don't think it is too feminine.  What do you think?

Thanks for coming by!  I'll try to get back into more regular posts.

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
