FALL IS UPON US

Something happened when I was working with this panel and I got smudges on two sides so I cut it down.  I love this stamp set!

Thank you so much for coming by today.

I'VE BEEN ABSENT - BUT I AM A SURVIVOR!

On October 7th I was diagnosed with a positive Covid-19 result.  I was tested at the hospital ER. They thought I'd do fine at home so came home.  On the 12th I was back at the hospital to have my lungs checked for pneumonia but the results allowed me to come home again.  On the 15th, I was admitted to the hospital and was there for four nights over 5 days.  While there were blood draws every day and I felt like a pin cushion.  I had an IV and received Remdisivir all 5 days which took 2 1/2 hours each time (not sure it helped) and a steroid by pills.  Let me tell you, YOU DO NOT WANT THIS VIRUS!  I've been home now since the 19th but on oxygen and Prednisone. My lungs need to heal.  I'm weaning myself off oxygen during the day but they want me to use it constantly during the night which makes it more difficult to get a good night's sleep.  Although I'm no longer quarantined, I'm far from feeling normal and up to be out running around. Now you know that life threw me a real curve!!!!

ENOUGH of that! Before I got sick, I had cards scheduled for the entire month of October but had actually only added enough to my blog to show up through October 9th.  I'm still going to show them all to you in bunches.  These cards today are from Stampin' Up! Boho Medley.  They are beautiful papers which also included stamps, dies, flowers, ribbon and die cuts.  So here we go with the first group that were supposed to appear on my blog the week of October 12-16.................The first three pictures are of the same card - I just wanted to show that it is a "Buckle Card".

Thank you for coming back to see what I had been busy doing before I got sick.  I'm glad I had all of these made up because I've only made 2 cards since I got home on the 19th.

HALLOWEEN CARD #5 - Stampin' Up! Happy Haunting dp

The papers I used are not from this year's SU catalog but I had plenty of it left.  I made these cards for our holiday mailing list. The window die is from Poppy Stamps and the "BOO" is from Penny Black.

Thank you for coming by today!

HALLOWEEN CARD - #4

My friend did all of the stamping on the 44 cards that we needed for the living center where my mother resides.  To begin, I took a piece of white card stock and punched a hold to use as a mask for the "moon".  The witch and sentiment were then added.  Since we wanted the "moon" to be in the right place each time, I came up with a method to do that....similar to doing it in a MISTI.

I pulled out a piece of the SU grid paper and placed the open card I had made on the grid.  I then placed the negative of the punched circle over the "moon" on the first card and taped it down on one side.  This allowed me to easily place each of the card bases under the opening to sponge the yellow in the same place each time.

This shows the mask taped down to the grid paper.

The first blank card under the mask and ready to sponge.

After all 44 cards were sponged, the witch and sentiment were placed on top of the original card and the card placed in the MISTI.  The witch and sentiment were then in the proper place to be able to mass produced the rest of the card fronts.  Inside the sentiment "Trick or Treat" was added using the MISTI before the cards were scored and folded.  I hope this series of pictures helps demonstrate what I tried to explain.

Thank you for coming by today!  Hope you have a great weekend!

HALLOWEEN CARD #3

Once again, the pieces used on this card were made from dies that belong to my friend.  I was really glad that I had cut all of these last year because die cutting that many takes some time doing one at a time.  (Please pardon the poor attempt to draw a face on the bat!  It's the only one with a face!)  There are 22 of this card going to the nursing home for a total of 63.

HALLOWEEN CARD #2

Last year Carol, who works on these cards with me, showed me the cards she had made for others.  I asked if I could borrow her dies and cut enough to make 21 of these cards.  I had the orange mat and pieces ready for her to put together.  I then added that to the white card base.  These 21 will also be going to the nursing home.

HALLOWEEN CARD #1

It's time to start working on the 100+ holiday cards that we make for a nursing home and where my mother lives.  This is one of the three designs we will be giving to the staff at the nursing home to hand out.  Since Covid-19 has prevented  my two friends from joining me in my home to work on these, I wanted to get started early because I thought this might all fall on me.  Fortunately one of the ladies lives across the alley from me.  After visiting with her one day on the phone I asked if she would like to assemble the cards if I got all of the pieces to her.  She was thrilled to be asked.

Like I said, this is one of three designs.  There are 20 cards like this one and she did a perfect job putting them together.  Thank you for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Forever Greenery Designer Paper

This makes a different style of card for someone to receive.  I've been trying to make cards that have different folds instead of 100% A2 top or side fold cards.

STAMPIN' UP! - Avant Garden

Can you believe it's OCTOBER?  In spite of  a much slower pace in life because we're taking precautions against Covid-19, it seems like the time is flying by!

A few weeks ago I posted a card using a different stamp from this set.  Then I saw a card that was demonstrated doing this technique.  The design behind the stamped image is is not designer paper.  I used the blossom portion of the design to randomly stamp round the border of the layer to go on the black card base.  I love the affect of this.  The card was sent to a friend.

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
