Inspired by Rita Holmes using the Spring Corners dies.  I love this layout with the dainty designs in the corners.  Rita showed how she was able to get the corners in just the right place.  Her video doesn't appear to still be on Facebook.   If you can email me at my contact, I can send you a copy of the .pdf. The two pictures below show how you can add the two corner dies to a piece of cardstock with Washi tape.  This allows you to center the 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece on your card stock.  Cut it once and then rotate the dies to cut the other two corners.  (Does that make sense?)

This was another idea I got from Rita Holmes.  I used a mask and gently added ink to all but the upper right corner.  The flowers and sentiment were then stamped.  I matted with black and added it to the Flirty Flamingo card base.

Using the same stamps and papers as yesterday's card, I made this one with the bookbinder layout.

This card was made using the Inked and Tiled stamp set along with the Inked Botanical designer series paper.  Since I didn't have the Pretty Peacock ribbon, I used a piece of white grosgrain ribbon and colored it with the Pretty Peacock blender pen.  I have really loved this stamp set and set of papers.

The card base is Wild Wheat.  It was not a color I cared for when it was introduced.  However it was perfect for this dsp from the Garden Walk paper pack.

This was a fun layout to use.  I cut three background pieces that measured 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and then rounded two opposite corners  The smaller pieces measured 1 1/4" x 1 1/4".  I founded the corners the same say.  The dotted pieces were attached with dimensionals.  Before adding the pieces to the white layer (4" x 5 1/4"), I placed them where I wanted them so I could determine what sentiment I would use.

While watching videos on YouTube, I discovered one with someone presenting a variety of basic layouts.  I made a sample of one of the ones (on the left) and then made the card (on the right).  The same layout can be made tweaked to make it your own.

Rita Holmes posts videos on Tuesday mornings and this is the style of card she showed on Tuesday, April 22.  I loved the layout.  HERE is the video showing how to make it.  I use the Postage stamp die for the two layers, Thoughtful Journey die for the Navy die cut and Meadow die for the Balmy Blue sprig.  The basic card went together very quickly, but I did struggle a little with what colors to make the focal point.

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Because there has been a question about how these were made...............

I have dies that are egg shaped from Spellbinders.   First I took a piece of white 4 1/4" x 11" card stock and folded it in half.   I attached the largest die just slightly above the fold of the white and was able to cut through both layers.  I punched a fancy edge along both the top and bottom side of a strip of white card stock and attached it to a piece of the polka dot dsp.  The same largest die was then used to cut out the shape.  I added it to the white base and then decorated with the grass and bunnies.  I didn't know if the die would cut through the grass, white layer and dsp so I just fussy cut the grass around the edge.  When I was finished I did cut just a narrow strip from the back portion of the card so that the card would sit up straight.

I've always been better at showing how to do things but not real good at telling how things are done  I hope my explanation makes sense.

Sunday while I was cleaning up my craft table, I found an envelope with some pieces that a friend (Wanda Pettijohn) had sent me last year.  I had used most of the pieces, but for some reason these were still in the envelope.  She had included that dark brown mat and die cut piece for the sentiment.  She had also included the piece of dsp and cut out the coffee cup but said the rest was up to me.  At the time I had made a different one with her instructions, but wasn't sure what I wanted to do with these piece and then allowed them to get buried on my table!

Well, Sunday, I ran across them and decided what I wanted to do.  I used a Calypso Coral care base and then assembled the pieces as shown.  I don't have a "latte" stamp and "coffee" just didn't seem quite appropriate so I did the sentiment on the computer.

Thank you, Wanda, for gifting me these pieces.....just sorry that I didn't use them much sooner!  I'm so glad that I ran across them and have finally put them together.

In an effort to use supplies I already have and even more supplies I've never used, I pulled out the Pretty Petals stamp set which I had purchased from the clearance sale.  The gingham papers are also from the stash of dsp that I have.  I really like the flowers from this set.

My picture is a little dark.  The pattern was something I found on a Facebook Quilting Cards page  I think it is called a pinwheel.  It was a fun one to make.  Because of the colors, I think I'll hold this one back for a masculine card.

I thought it would be fun to make in a variety of brighter color combinations so I pulled out a different retired designer paper collection.  No matter how careful I tried to be with the measurements I had a little trouble with this one.  I use the SU trimmer for cutting the measurements but once the squares were assembled and added to the So Saffron mat, the bottom right square wasn't right. It was disappointing but it is what it is.

This is another card I made with the Thoughtful Journey dsp.  The die is another one that I had not used in a long time and it worked very well with this type of background.  The die is from Memory Box.

After watching a video from Rita Holmes, I made the two cards below. I didn't have the same die but decided that I could get a similar presentation using this die from Poppy Stamps.  (It is a die from my "collection" so it was good to pull out something I hadn't used in a very long time.)  The dsp behind the die cut is from SU Thoughtful Journey dsp.  I still had some of the sheets left with these types of designs so I made several cards using up some of them.

After my two cards posted here, I am showing you a snapshot of the card Rita made.

I had started this card months ago.  It has a Balmy Blue card base and I had added the piece of dsp from the SU Abstract Beauty package.  It was my least favorite piece.  I remember looking at it and thinking, "What now?". The design is so busy I just wasn't sure where to go from there.

A few days ago I had a piece of that Balmy Blue dsp from a different package.  It was just about the right size so I trimmed it slightly, stamped the large sentiment and added it to the card.  I was so happy to be able to say "case closed".

When I ordered this pack of Abstract Beauty dsp it was totally "thinking out of the box" for me.  It is not my typical paper but it was fun to work with.  The dsp is 3 3/4" x 5" and then added to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of gold foil before adding it to the pink card base  I punched a piece of the dsp with the hexagon punch added a strip of white for the sentiment across the middle.

I still have a few pieces from that package so I'll need to find some more ideas.  Thank you for coming by today!

I haven't used up all of the papers yet, but before I put it away, I found these two strips that were 6" long but looked like they were just about perfect size otherwise to use them together.  There was a small gap between the pieces so using a third scrap, I cut a narrow strip with the stripes to cover that space.  I don't have Pretty Peacock ribbon so I used my SU blender to color some white ribbon.

Before the price increase was going to take affect, I had just ordered some card stock from a demonstrator so I sent this card to her as a thank you for always being available to help.

This is a similar card using the same papers.

When searching for cards to make with the Garden Walk paper, I found a video by Julianne Richards on YouTube.  These were made using a fun fold layout.

I know I have posted some cards in the past using this pattern but it waa also a good way to use more scrap pieces from the SU Garden Walk dsp.

With the price increase of the Stampin' Up! card stock and other items coming with the new catalog, I decided that I really need to concentrate on using what I already have..........and I have a lot.  Too many stamps and dies, including many from other companies have been neglected so I will be digging into them and giving them some love.

My goal the other day was to get more of this dsp from the Garden Walk packaged used up.  I turn to Pinterest or YouTube many times.....especially when I am wanting to get multiple cards made quickly  I saw one using this paper.  I turned mine to be vertical instead of horizontal.  I didn't have the Wild Wheat ribbon or the Wild Wheat alcohol blender to color some white ribbon.  A strip of the Wild Wheat card stock served the purpose.

I used the remaining 3" strip from the paper I used on yesterday's card but cut it with an arch die.  Once again I think this might be used for a sympathy card.

This panel of dsp is 3" x 5 1/4".  The So Saffron mat is 5 1/2" x 3 1/4".  I added it to a card base of retired Eggplant card stock.  I'm still debating about adding a sentiment to the front and will decide on that when I want to use it.  I'm thinking it might be appropriate for a sympathy card.

With holiday cards behind me, it is time to pull out some of the multitude of retired papers that I have.  This is from the Meandering Meadows collection.  I cut 1/2" from the bottom of this 6 x 6 piece and then cut three 2" pieces.  When I added the white panel I decided to use a 1/2" strip that was left to the bottom.  These papers are beautiful and make great "fun fold" cards.

Thank you for coming by today!

The new arches dies are really fun to work with.  Rita Holmes recently made a card with this layout so I decided to make one as well.   Than...
