HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR GRANDDAUTER, EMMA!

This is the third August birthday card for a granddaughter........August 9, 17 and 19!  They keep Grandma busy!

I'm sure I made a card for Emma one other time using this paper............the name of the paper is "Emma" so why would I use anything else?  On the white section, I created a pocket by adding part of a circle die cut.  I'm sure you know what goes into that "pocket"!

UNSUCCESSFUL TRY!

The layout for this  card is from a video that I watched.  The flowered piece is die cut and then cut in 5 strips. The 2nd and 4th strip are raised on dimensionals.  I can't remember what the technique is called but I had never done it before.

I have a set of arch dies but they are not from Stampin' UP! so the size of them is slightly different.  I had to do some maniputating on the width of the strips but managed to get it done.  She also used the smallest two dies for the sentiment.

I liked the card she made.   I chose the colors of card stock that were in the dsp but am not at all happy with my own.  Not sure I'll be doing another one!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR GRANDDAUGHTER, ALLISSA!

I usually try to make cards that are different or with a special fold. Making a "Swing Fold" was something I don't think I had ever done.....at least not like this.  I was a little intimidated and thought about making a trial sample but decided to just go for it!  It really wasn't difficult....just meant taking my time and thinking everything through before adding the glue.

This time I used the Wildflower Birthday dsp again but used Blueberry Bliss card stock with it.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out since it was my first try.

WILDFLOWER BIRTHDAY

As with these other cards that I have made like this, I used the Wildflower Birthday dsp and gold foil card stock for the mats.  But card I did use the dotted paper for backgrounds.  The dotted paper came from a 12 x 12 pad of in color papers that SU used to sell.  I still have a lot of those sheets and they do come in hand for a card like this.

This was an idea I got from Rita Holmes a few weeks ago.   Great way to use some scraps from retired designer paper.

A couple in our community celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary recently so I wanted to send them a card.  I had recently made this card and since the ribbon has gold trim, I thought it would be appropriate.  Also the sentiment is embossed in gold.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHERYL!

This card was made using Peach Pie card stock, papers from the 6 X 6 "2024-2026 In Color" package that has retired, gold foil and pieces from the "Wildflowers Birthday" paper pack.  It is a really fun fun fold to make.  I started by making one for a granddaughter which will be shown later but couldn't stop making them.  This one was sent to a friend in Texas.  We met at church camp when I was in 6th grade.  We haven't seen each other in so many years but I like her to know she's still my friend.

It's never easy to need sympathy cards and I needed one rather quickly.  I kept it simple and used an embossing folder from Stampin' Up!.  I'm not sure if I had ever used it.  As I post this, I need another one for the brother of one of my classmates.

I'm going through my dsp stash and found this paper.  I wasn't sure what to do with it, but found the idea on Pinterest.  I made these two cards with it and have pieces cut for more.

This is a card I made using the idea from Pinterest.  I had the same "circle" dies and embossing folder.  The birds are fussy cut from dsp.  This card makes me happy.

MORE SWEET SORBET DSP

These two cards were made with the last of this particular design in the collection.  I still have eight full 6 x 6 sheets of three different designs plus some pieces!  Really not sure what I'm going to do with them.

Two cards using more of the Sweet Sorbet designer series paper from SU.

This card has a little story behind it.  Normally I keep my Stampin' Up card stock in the original package that it comes in.  But I had some odd pieces of this "green" card stock held together with a paper clip.  I had no idea what color it was.  It is similar to some other colors but definitely not the same.

I pulled out the few pieces of dsp from the retired Sweet Sorbet collection and decided it was time to get more of it used.  Fortunately I had saved the piece that comes with dsp showing the name of of the papers AND the name of the colors.  The color is Pistachio Pudding!  It has been discontinued for a long time but luckly I even still had the ink pad which was well inked!  Chalk up a WIN!
