PRETTY IN PINK

One of my favorite colors to use is the pink and white which makes such a soft presentation on a card. I embossed the main card using the Swirls CB folder. Using one of the CB folders with the square designs, I was able to emboss it three times across the 5 1/2 inch width of the white layer. I have a set of tiny flowers (not sure what company) that fit perfectly in the squares. The ink and pink paper are from SU. The white paper is Powdered Sugar from Lasting Impressions.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day!

SYMPATHY

This is another card from my own card sample file. One time a friend of mine (Harriet) stamped off some paper for me using the Daisy 3-step stamps from Kitchen Sink. I did eventually purchase the stamps for myself. This set is particularly easy to use and I thought the blue made a nice calm design for a Sympathy card. You can see that I used a Cuttlebug folder on the right side of the card. The Sentiment is from Paper Inspirations.

A NEW BASEBALL LAYOUT

This card doesn't need a lot of explanation but I wanted to share it. The stamps and red card stock I used are from SU. The off white and striped paper are from Lasting Impressions. The "All Star" is from a CTMH set. Now I need to get back to making some duplicates so I have enough inventory to give the museum.
BTW I just received the inventory of the newest Lasting Impressions stencils. Let me know if you are interested.

HEAT EMBOSSED BUTTERFLIES

Today was spent making extremely simple cards that I really don't feel worth of sharing. :) I made this card at one time using stamps that I purchased in Branson MO. They have a wonderful stamp store there - Unique Impressions - which I understand is now in a different location. I plan to visit them in October.

The butterflies were stamped along the right side of the front of the card and heat embossed with Egyptian Gold embossing powder. After I had embossed them, I cut away that edge of the cardstock and placed a lavender piece of cardstock along the right side of the inside edge.

So far this was an expensive card because I don't believe I have used them again.........too many toys..........so I need to use them again and again. I believe these stamps came from a Canadian Stamp Company called The Stamp Barn.

TWO FUN CARDS

OK, these are two cards that I made some time ago but since I'm still working on baseball cards and beginning to make duplicates I thought I'd pull something out of my files for you. Back before there were Spellbinders dies, I purchased a lot of Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Punches and three Spirelli punches and these shapes were made with those. The same affect could be achieved by using some of the Spellbinder dies as well. I used some very fine gold thread to make the designs. The outcome depends on how many spaces you skip with the winding.
The top card shows a circle in the middle. On some cards a metal embellishment of some type can be placed there for an added focal point. I also like the "teardrop" area being left open. The card I saw done in this way had a small gold cross in the middle which made a wonderful religious card.

I HOPE I DON'T BORE YOU.............

It's still another baseball card that I made today...............I saw a white circle on the table that I had cut with my Nesties. Add a little red appropriately and you have a baseball. I have been using the Cuttlebug folder that looks like wood grain a lot for the baseball cards I've made. The scoreboard will eventually have numbers on it which show the scores each inning etc. of the final State Tournament game which they won.

TWO VISITORS

Over a year ago we had to put our dog, Okie, to sleep. She was 15 years old so we had enjoyed her for a long time but it was very difficult losing her. My husband does not want another dog so he did finally agree to letting me atleast have some bird feeders outside our living room bow window. I get some great birds, but over the last few days have been visited by two squirrels on a regular basis. Nothing stops them from climbing the pole and getting into the bird seed. They are a lot of fun to watch. They've even figured out how to get into the bird bath for a drink.
The first picture is taken through our window showing how the one hangs by its feet and stays that way until it gets its fill. Today it actually lost its balance and almost fell off. It was quite comical watching it scramble to get back up. (Shame on me for laughing.)
The second picture also shows one sitting on top of the big rock waiting for its turn.

BASEBALL (Again)

I'm still working on cards for the museum that is going to be opening soon. This is another card that I made using a stamp from SU and three stamps from CTMH. Coloring was done with Copic CIAO markers.

MICKEY AND MINNIE

Having six young grandchildren, I need to be able to come up with some cards for them that don't have flowers or butterflies on them. Last year when members of a Yahoo Group of ladies met for a couple of days, I found these Mickey and Minnie Mouse stickers. I already had the paper and needed something to use on it.

The background paper was cut to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 measurement and attached to the front of a card made with Powdered Sugar cardstock from Lasting Impressions. I adhered the Disney sticker to a layer of red cardstock from Stampin Up and then adhered that layer to a black glossy paper which then was put on to the designer paper.

I stamped the vertical sentiment on white and cut it to attach to the left side of the card. Stickers may be "cheating" a little when making cards but for children, I thought these designs were so cute!

Thanks for looking. Come back again soon.

VIOLETS

Today's card was made using white card stock from Paper Trey for the main piece. I ran just the top portion through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.

Other papers used were Bazzil Basics lavender and green pieces. I also used white glossy paper for the oval and white Lasting Impressions for the punched layers. (I have found the MS punches do not work well on a heavy card stock like Paper Trey.)

The flowers are rub-ons and although it probably won't show on the picture, the flowers & leaves are glittery and quite pretty. Ovals were cut using my Nesties.

Let me know if you have any questions.

PUNCHED FLOWER

This card was made using papers from Lasting Impressions (Strawhat and Powdered Sugar). I stamped the design on the white paper with a VersaMark pad and heat embossed it with Egyptian Gold Embossing Powder. The stamp leaves the outline of where the punched flowers are to be placed. The leaves were colored with a dark green marker. Flowers are punched twice and cut in half so they can be layered. A button added for the center of each flower.

I'm not sure if the card needs any further detail but please feel free to ask questions by emailing me at vboddicker@aol.com.

BUTTERFLY PROJECT

Once again it has been too long since I posted something. Last Wednesday we had four grandchildren here. The next day two went to the other Grandmother's home and then two days later we switched. Sunday we took all of them home for the little one's 2nd Birthday party. What fun it was to be able to be the first one to wish her a "Happy Birthday" and give her that first "Birthday kiss". She's a real hoot to have for a few days......what a personality!

Anyway the picture I am showing today is of two butterflies that the two oldest granddaughters made while they were here. The girls are 11 and 8 years old. I told them about a "Butterfly Project" that is wanting 1,500,000 hand made butterflies for a Holocaust Museum in Houston, TX. When I explained the project to them they both wanted to take part in it.

The butterflies are made with Ranger's Gloss Paper. I let the girls use my Ranger Alcohol Inks to color the paper and then they cut out the butterflies with the Spellbinders Butterly dies using my Cuttlebug. They both enjoy doing crafts while they are here so I thought it was really special that they wanted to take part in the project.

Working with Ranger Alcohol Inks can be a lot of fun. Let me know if you would like to order. Thanks for looking. School will be starting soon and the "Grandma Day Care" should be coming to an end. I hope to be posting photos on a more regular basis again.

This is the  video  I used to make this card using more retired dsp. After I finished, I was a little dissatisfied with the white background...
