THANKSGIVING CARD

I realize Thanksgiving is a long way off and yet it's going to be here before we know it the way time flies.  This is actually the design I used for the cards I made to fill my brother's order.  The "leaf" embossing folder works beautifully with the large die cut oak leak.  The designer papers and card stock used for the oak leaf are Cajun Craze from Stampin' Up!

Now you have seen all of the cards I made for my brother and I'll be on to something else so I hope you will come back again next month -- or should I say Monday!

IN SYMPATHY

This is similar to a card I posted earlier but I cut the window with a rectangle die. By putting the die cut sprig off to the left, I was able to stamp "In Sympathy" onto the vellum.  I stamped the sentiment using Memento Rich Cocoa ink so that it would dry and not smear.
For this card I did remember to emboss the middle panel of the tri-fold card before attaching the vellum.

I thought I had centered the rectangle but it appears it is a little low.  If I had realized it, I would have flipped the card 180 degrees before adding the branch and stamping the sentiment.  One of those "oops" that I couldn't fix.

Thank you for stopping by today!

ANNIVERSARY CARD #4

I used both of the dies from the Stampin' Up! Detailed Floral Thinlits dies for this card.  With such beautiful die cuts the card doesn't need anything more than just the "Happy Anniversary stamped between the two cuts.  These dies can be used on so many different colors and make beautiful cards for many occasions but especially for anniversaries and weddings.

Thank you for following along with the cards that I made to fill my brother's order.

ANNIVERSARY CARD #3

These anniversary cards that I am posting are the ones I made to fill the order from my brother.  I used a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of the pretty designer paper from the "Falling In Love" pack and attached that to the ivory card base.

The pretty gold foil die cut  was made with the Stampin' Up! So Detailed Thinlit die.  I didn't buy the coordinating stamp set but had this little floral design from another SU stamp set.  I embossed it with gold powder and then used a Copic "Blush" marker to add just a little color to the edges of the petals.  Once again, the sentiment is "On Your Special Day".

I'll post the fourth anniversary card I made for my brother to use.  Thank you for stopping by today!

ANNIVERSARY CARD #2

This card went together very quickly.  It's another tri-fold card.  I used the stitched rectangle die to cut out the window out of the middle panel.  I added the light green vellum behind the window and then taped down the backing to hide the vellum.  The pretty floral sprig is the Memory Box "Bella Bouquet" die.  My first cut didn't come out of the die very well and I had an extra few pieces from it so I added the little blossom in the lower right corner.

Thanks for coming by today!

ANNIVERSARY CARD - #1

This is one of the anniversary cards I made for my brother to use.  I cut and embossed the Memory Box "Evershan Branch" with ivory card stock that was adhered to the "Stick It" adhesive.  I then colored the leaves, blooms and branch with Copic markers.

The card is a "tri-fold" card.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the oval in the middle section, added the light green vellum behind the oval and then attached taped down the one fold to cover the vellum. (Not sure I explained that very well.)

I do wish I had embossed the center panel of the ivory card base with a folder and would definitely do that the next time.  It just adds so much texture to the card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Since it's Friday, I hope you will comb back again on Monday to see the other anniversary cards I made for my brother..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A FRIEND

After I graduated from high school, I went to business school.  Two other girls that I net met there ended up being my roommates when we all happened to move to Cedar Rapids, IA.  Little did we know at the time all of us had represented our high school bands at the same event, then attended the same business school at the same time and would then become roommates and all worked for different attorneys.

One of those roommates and I have remained in touch now and then and I always try to send her birthday, anniversary and Christmas cards. We also stay in touch through Facebook.

Today is her birthday.  I made this card especially for her with the new Penny Black "First Blooms" die.  When cutting there are three pieces that are cut.  I attached the card stock to Stick-It before cutting and then colored them with Copic markers.  I think the wider margins on the red mat help make a really bold statement.  I'll be making more using other colors.  Spring is just around the corner.

MEMORY BOX "Amana Circle" - Day 3

When I found the packages of butterfly stickers used on the last two cards posted, I found this one lonely little bumble bee sticker needing a home.  I embossed the yellow piece with the hexagon folder to look like a bee hive and then mounted that piece onto a piece of dotted black designer paper. The white card base was embossed with a folder that has random raised dots.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for another very pretty die.

MEMORY BOX "Amana Circle" - Day 2

I used another butterfly from that same sticker package on the same "Amana Circle" but then made a "banner" to add them to the card.  The pink banner was embossed with the "Swiss Dots" folder and the white mat was embossed with a folder from Darice (not sure what the name of it is).

Thank you for stopping by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRIS!

Kris is a member of our Yahoo group and today is her birthday.  I hope she is having a very special day!

The butterfly is a sticker and I added it to the center of the white die cut piece.  The Memory Box die is called "Amana Circle". Since  I don't live too far from the Amana Colonies this die probably jumped right into my online cart!  (just kidding)  It was one that I knew I wanted though partly because of the name.  Unfortunately I have had it for quite a while and this was the first time I had used it.  Tomorrow and Wednesday I will be showing you two more cards made in a similar way.

Today's card helped me use an item that I had never used before, a sticker from a package that I have had for a long time and the gingham paper that I have had for a long time.  I really liked the way this one came together.

Thank you for coming by today!

EASTER CARD #2

I've shown this card before but this is the one I made for my brother to use.  It was so easy to do all of the different pieces and then assemble all 7 at the same time.  I don't think this one needs a lot of explanation, but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for stopping by!

CHILDREN'S EASTER CARD

I was thrilled when my brother ordered about 20 cards a while ago.  Those were all individual designs and for specific relatives and friends. l finished and sent them to him.  A few days ago he ordered 20 more cards.  He asked for 7 Easter for Adults, 2 for his graqndsons, 4 Anniversary and 7 Thanksgiving,  I have those all done now too.  For the holiday cards I was able to "mass produce" them so it went very quickly.  The anniversary cards are all different.

This is the card I made for one of the grandsons.  The "grass" was made with a Martha Stewart punch.  (Our youngest granddaughter loves making cards and always knows where the "grass punch" is to use on her cards.)  The other one is similar but a different bunny.

The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn and has coordinating dies to cut out the pieces.

It was easy to make the two for the grandsons because I actually had left over pieces from last year.  I decided I  would use a couple more to decorate the inside of the card.   I love working with the pastel colors.

STAMPIN' UP! Detailed Floral Thinlit Die

Before getting into today's card, I just have to say THANK YOU to two great friends who came to my home yesterday and helped make the Easter cards for the staffs at the independent living center and nursing home where my mother and mother-in-law reside.  We had so much fun doing them and with three of us working all 97 were done by Noon.  I had promised that we would have fun playing with some new ideas if they had time to stay.

Joanne had tried playing with alcohol inks on Yupo paper the last time she was here, but Carol inked a piece and thought it was fun to do.  Then I introduced both of them to Washi tape and they each made three pieces with a variety of colors.  Just that quick Carol had three cards to ready to send and Joanne was going to finish hers at home.  We're definitely not going to wait until it is time to make Halloween cards before getting together again.  This was just too much fun!

Our Yahoo group has two swaps each month.  The first one is for a card of our choice.  The second one is a color challenge given to us by one of the members.  I had just received the die set from Stampin' Up! and was very anxious to use it.  I added the white card stock to "Stick-It" and then cut the piece.  There are a lot of tiny pieces to be removed but most of them came out very easily.  I could have added a "shim" to give a little more pressure when I ran it through the Cuttlebug,

The picture shows the same sentiment that I used on yesterday's card.  The dies for the sentiment are from a set of dies from Spellbinders.

Thank you for stopping by today!

CARDS FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY

Monday's Card (a day late)

I totally forgot to post a card yesterday even though I had this one marked to show you.  I saw a card on Pinterest similar to this.  The embossing folder is a good one to use as a sunburst.  The large butterfly from Memory Box is one of the many dies I have with butterflies on them.  I attached it with a glue dot.  I made this card several days ago and forget what happened, but there was a little "boo boo" so I covered it with a punched butterfly.  It wasn't planned but I didn't want to throw the card away.

Tuesday's Card

Today's card turned out differently than I planned too.  When I bought the circle die, I thought it would cut out all of those little places and that I would mount it over a colored piece of card stock.  Well, they are not meant to cut out so it just gives a swirly design.  The pretty little butterfly from Jolee Stickers (at Michael's) went well with the Stampin' Up! paper.  The sentiment (On Your Special Day) is from a great little stamp set with 5 sentiment stamps that I use a lot.

I do have cards planned out for the rest of the week so I hope you will come back and check them out!  Thank you for coming by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 10

This card didn't turn out quite like I had hoped.  I took the idea of one I saw on Pinterest using different stamps and adding another strip of tape. I also put the little Happy Birthday on the circle die cuts and popped with foam squares.   I think I would have been happier if I had left the bottom strip off.

Another Friday has rolled around so I hope you'll come back here on Monday.  Thank you for coming by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 9

I have such a variety of tape colors and patterns.  I really like the pink/black/white combination.  After I had the tapes applied to the 4" x 5 1/4" layer, I used a Memory Box die to cut the bird.

When I stamped the sentiment on the layer, there was black ink on the ridge of the rubber and I covered that neatly with the strip of little black metal dots.  I'll probably used this as a birthday card.

Tomorrow I have one last Washi Tape card to post for the time being and then I'll move on to something new again.  Thank you for stopping by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 8

These Washi tapes didn't photograph very well, but they are all very pretty and are from Stampin' Up!.  Once again I used some gold glitter paper to add the die cut butterfly.  It is so much prettier in real life.

Tomorrow I hoe to have something completely new for you.  Thanks for stopping by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 7 (For my Sister)

This is my very favorite of the cards that I have done with the Washi tape.  Two of the tapes had a metalic gold pattern so I decided to die cut the butterfly and sentiment with glitter paper.  This card was sent to my sister who is celebrating her birthday today.....age to remain private.  I figured she deserved some sparkle!

I'm not quite done with Washi cards so tomorrow there will be one last one for the time being.  Thank you for stopping by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 6 (CAS)

I am going to use this layout for many of the Washi tape designs that I have.  I donate cards to the nursing home where my mother-in-law resides so that the staff can give cards to the residents on their birthdays.  Doing this with different colors will work for the ladies and gentlemen who live there.

Thank you for stopping by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 5

This card was made for my friend, Nancy.  The Washi tapes are all from Stampin' Up!.  I have the coordinating paper pad and punched the balloons. After I finished it, I was wishing I had matted the white layer onto one of the colors.  Next time.

It's Friday so I hope you'll come back on Monday.  Thank you for coming by today!

WASHI TAPE - Day 4

The Washi tape for this card is from Stampin' Up!.  I stamped and die cut the Flower Shop piece and added small black metal dots to the center.  The Happy Birthday die cut is from Whimsy Stamps.  This was a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest.

Thank you for stopping by today!

WASHI TAPE - DAY 3

This design is a case of a card I saw on Pinterest.  I loved it and I actually used the same colors.  My "hello" is slightly different but I think this is a really fun card which can be done in a variety of colors.

Come back again tomorrow for Day 4.  Thank you for stopping by today!

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
