THANKSGIVING CARD

 

Today is Halloween, but I had posted all of the Halloween cards I made already.......so you are getting a Thanksgiving card that I made instead.

I watched a video from Connie Stewart about a week ago and made this card.  I basically followed her video using the same stamp set.  Instead of the embossed border she had used some "ribbon" from Stampin' Up! that I didn't order.  You can see Connie's video here.

YESTERDAY'S CARDS WITH NEW COLORS

CASING SHARON ARMSTRONG

This technique is very simple to do and you can have three cards very quickly.  These are the colors Sharon used in her video.  Tomorrow I'll show you the second set of cards using different colors.  So many possibilities!  Some Fall colors would be fun to use right now.

RIP AND FLIP CARDS

This was an idea from Robin Armbrecht.  (I told you I love her videos.)  You start with a 3" x 4" piece of dsp.  Depending on the orientation of the piece you have, the next step is to carefully "rip" a piece from the bottom edge (about 1" to 1 1/2").  Flip the bottom edge over for the coordinating side.  The pieces are added to a mat measuring 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".

Before adding the piece to the card base, I stamped a design from the stamp set around the edge using the same color of ink as the card stock base.  The video is here.  After the presentation of this technique, she shows three ways to use blending brushes.  Check it out.

PICK OF THE PATCH & PICTURE THIS DIES

I made this card for one of our granddaughters.  While I had the Pick of the Patch stamp set on my table, I realized that it might just work to use with the "windows" that the die provides.

I'm sorry I can't find the video where I saw a similar card.  The card I saw used the Scary Silhouette die set which is retired.  I changed up the design a little on this first card but the second card (last picture) is closer to the one I saw.

JOY TO THE WORLD

Very simple.  I have a "music" folder that I used to emboss the white 4" x 5 1/4" piece and simply added the sentiment which was cut from a Penny Black die.

Until things slow down for me, I'm going to continue posting pictures of cards I've been making but probably no explanations.  These cards will be among the ones that I am taking to the Veterans Home.

This week I have been having trouble staying on top of things.  Live has been busy running around and my typical reaction after having the Covid updated vaccine.  I usually have to take it slow the day after but my one arm is still sore and ITCY!  So my posts are pretty simple.  I'm also winding up the cut and pieces for what we will be making for the Thanksgiving cards we donate.

FEELS LIKE FROST DSP

The flip side of the pretty Feels Like Frost designs have a pretty metallic pattern.  I chose this paper for a One-Sheet-Wonder project.  These are three of the cards I made.  The pieces are adhered  to a piece of white glitter card stock.  It's great that you can even stamp on it!
