Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp.

I had this piece in my tub of Thanksgiving stamps and dies.  The black outline is a sticker from Elizabeth Crafts.  I had colored it with Copic markers. I double matted it and added it to a Crumb Cake card base.

Originally I posted this card with just the background pieces and I may have posted this card again after adding the leaves and sentiment.  However I'm a little short on new things to post so I thought I would show it again since it makes a great card for Thanksgiving.

Thank you for coming by today!

Ii used the "Twigs & Sprigs" embossing folder from Stampin' UP! for the 4" x 5 1/4" white layer.  This was simply added to a white card base .  The cute little pumpkin was added and "HappyThanksgiving" stamped inside.

I recently watched THIS video.  Rita Holmes has a video most Tuesday mornings at 9:00 and it is just a fun way to start of the day.  This time she showed making a card with SU papers that showed a scene.  It reminded me of the "spotlight" technique but not using stamped images.  The circle was cut from the scene and then matted with a piece of card stock.  It wasn't just glued back to the card but was added with dimensionals.

This third card was actually going to be my first attempt to make a card like the two above.  I got ahead of myself and had glued the dsp down to a mat before I cut the circle.  In thinking about it now I should have cut the circle and I think it would have still worked out just fine.  Well, it's still a very pretty card.

At one point I had decided not to make cards for the care centers this year because I was busy getting organized to do a craft show. but when I discovered I have over 650 cards in boxes, I knew I had to take a break from making more non-holiday cards.  I remember how much it meant to my mother that I would do this for those where she lived.

Two years ago I bought two 12" x 12" pads of paper from a Michael's clearance sale.  I didn't get around to using them last year and decided that those papers would be perfect to make up a lot of CAS cards to donate after all.  I did make the difficult decision to drop one of the places because it was another 50 cards. (If time permits I may make some for them.)

The cards above were all made from one of the paper pads.  There were multiple sheets with the same design and they were very easy to put together.

These cards were made from the second pad of 12" x 12" papers.  I cut them up into as many pieces as I could get that measured 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I added each to an A2 card base.  Then I punched pieces for the sentiment and added them to most of the cards.  You may notice that two of them don't have those added pieces due to the design on the paper.  I had enough of these cards to take to the other two care centers.

This particular scene from the "Meandering Meadows" dsp is such a peaceful scene that I used a sympathy sentiment.

This was a left over piece from another card I had made (see  October 27 post).

I can't believe that we are 4 weeks away from Thanksgiving!!!

This piece of the "All About Autumn" retired DSP looks like someone's private library.  I didn't want to cover up any of the outside with a sentiment.

Stampin' Up! "All About Autumn" retired DSP.  By the time I got this collection last year, it was too late to do much with it so this year I have made multiple FALL cards.

Meandering Meadows DSP makes a very peaceful card for an inspirational card.

When closed the sentiment is still visible.

This is another fancy fold.  I used the "Inked and Tiled" stamp set and coordinating "Inked Botanicals" dsp.  The sentiment is actually attached to the right hand side of the opening.  To help make the card lay flat, I attached a thin Velcro circle under the left side of the sentiment.

Here you can see part of the Velro which is attached to the card.

.

I had a narrow strip of the dsp so made a second card with pieces cut the same size as above but this one has a traditional opening. I recall adding that little brass butterfly over a tiny black flaw in the card stock.  Perfect cover-up!

It's hard to find a way to make a card that would be easier than this.
DSP is from the retired "All About Autumn" collection.

Card base and mat used Early Espresso card stock.

The last of the Halloween cards I made.  The last two were generated by a program I purchased when I was selling Lasting Impressions brass stencils.  If I had wanted to take the time,  I could have used a coordinating stencil to dry emboss the design.

I have begun going through stamp sets that I haven't used in a long time.  I had pulled this "Painted Petals" set with the intention to post it for sale.  However, after making these two cards, I'm having a hard time letting it go.  This is an easy layout to use for this set.

I watched a Frances "Frenchie" Martin recently which she made with another crafter.  Her friend made this card and then Frenchie made a different card after.  (I haven't done that second card yet.)  I chose the same paper pack for this one but used a different sheet.

Since I had already made one, I figured making a second one would take a little less time so I picked a different sheet from the "Garden Walk" dsp collection.
