TIME TO SHINE - Version #3

Yesterday's card mentioned how I had cut the star stamped background in half and used just one piece. The other piece didn't go to waste. I did cut down the length and mounted it on black SU card stock.

That piece was then adhered to the front of the card which had been run through the Cuttlebug with the Sizzix embossing folder.

A gold shimmer paper layer and a white layer were cut out with two of the Spellbinders Labels 7 dies. I did stamp the sentiment before cutting out the white layer.

TIME TO SHINE - Version #2

For today's card, I used that same Hero Arts stamp to make a background of stars on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of white card stock by heat embossing it with Egyptian Gold embossing powder. Then I cut it in half. I embossed only the lower half of the card with the Sizzix embossing folder and then adhered the star strip to the upper half.

Using Labels 7 from Spellabinders, I cut the black and the gold layers. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock using black this time because I liked it better than in the gold - it reinforced the black layer I had cut.

This is a card that could easily be done in school colors to make it more personal.

GRADUATION - TIME TO SHINE

The background on this card was made using a Hero Arts wood mounted stamp, VersaMark ink and Egyptian Gold embossing powder. I then embossed the sentiment on a piece of the white card stock and cut it out using the Labels 7 Spellbinders dies. The gold shimmer paper was then cut out using the next larger die.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and I liked how the sentiment went so well with the star background. It's also pretty safe to use for any graduate if you don't know their school colors.

IT'S TIME FOR GRADUATIONS

The first card was made using local school colors (blue and gold) so I used SU Brilliant Blue and Summer Yellow papers along with the main colors. Embossed background was made with the Cuttlebug Congratulations embossing folder.

The second card was made using Black and SU Summer Yellow papers along with the main white card stock. The embossed background on this card was made using a Sizzix embossing folder.

The stamped images are from a Penny Black stamp and were colored with SU and Copic markers and then cut out using Spellbinders Classic Rectangle dies.

ONE MORE FOR THE GUYS

I saw a card on SCS using the Autumn Days stamp set and it really inspired me to case it. First I stamped the pheasant onto the white card stock. Then I stamped it a second time on a piec of white typing paper and cut it out. The "mask" was then placed on top of the original one and I stamped the other images. The embossed piece at the top of the card was done with a Cuttlebug border embossing folder.

BOLD STATEMENT

These two were made when I was working on cards that could be used for men. I don't think they don't give a femine appearance but still wondering if they would work for the guys. Anyway the brown and white definitely make a bold statement with the contrast of colors.

On the first card I did use a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The design is from the SU Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. I used Chocolate Chip card stock from SU for the solid brown. The other brown papers are DP that I have had for a long time. The layers for the stamped image were cut and embossed with the Spellbinders Labels 4.
