FOUR CARDS FROM ONE SHEET

Once I saw some of the cards using this paper, I bought a package and later realized it was so fun I bought another pack (maybe on clearance).  HERE is the video that I followed to make these cards.  In fact, if you watch the video, I will be showing the rest of the cards from that video here every day through March 12 (except this Tuesday).  The video doesn't demonstrate all of the designs but it was easy to see what she had done.   Today's cards are made by cutting a 6 x 6 sheet of the paper into four 3 x 3 pieces.  Great way to use this wonderful paper and get the most for your money! See the other three below............

For this one, I flipped the square 180 degrees and used the darker portion at the bottom.

VIDEO FROM TERRI GAINES

Hey!  This looks just like the card that was posted yesterday!    But it's not.......just wait!  The opens on the left side.

When you open the card, this is what you see on the inside.  But wait! There is a second card inside and it opens on the right side.  See below.......

This fun scene is inside and provides lots of room for writing a message.  HERE is where you find the video from Terri Gaines that shows how to do the 3D card from yesterday and this fun fold.

RETIRED NEW HORIZON DSP

When this paper came out I was a little confused as how to use it. However, I started seeing these amazing card that were creating wonderful scenes.  This month you are going to be seeing a lot of this dsp from me.  YouTube and Pinterest are great sources of inspiration.  I watched a video from "Create With Terri Gaines" and made this 3D card.  The card does lay flat to send in the mail.  Below is a second picture of it with a view slightly from the top.

RETIRED EXPRESSIONS IN INK DSP

Making "book binder" styled cards is a fun way to use two sides of dsp.  This is Card #1.

For Card #2, I used the same main dsp but used a different piece for the side panel.  I also used slightly different measurements so that margins were narrower.

MY MARCH CHALLENGE TO MYSELF

Recently I saw someone on a Facebook group mention that she was going to spend the month of March using up retired Stampin' Up! papers.  What a great idea!  I have new papers I wanting to use too, but this month is going to be dedicated to posting cards using retired dsp. I may throw in an extra card or two here and there with some of the new ones I have.  Here are the first two using Flowering Fields.  

Spring is just around the corner (thank goodness) and I am really anxious to see flowers again.  This designer series paper is perfect invite spring into our area.  My sister has a birthday coming up and so I am making cards to send her as a surprise.  I have a feeling she is one who sends Thank You cards for various reasons so I am making sure to include several of them.  (See card #2 below)

I used to have a reputation for sending cards late.  I still do now and then, but this is a fun stamp to use for those that I know are going to arrive after the birthday.  I found the layout for this one on Pinterest and used a different label and sentiment.

Is anyone else out there up for the challenge of using retired papers for the month of March?

MYSTERY MONDAY CARD - February 27th

Sunday we were busy and went to watch a granddaughter in a volleyball tournament.  They didn't win, but they certainly played so much better than they had the weekend before.  Yesterday was busy again and I didn't realize I hadn't scheduled a post.

Last night I was able to watch Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Monday video.  On Sunday she had sent an email out with all of the pieces that were needed but I didn't get them cut.  After the "Live" started, I hit "pause" and hurriedly cut the pieces, grabbed a stamp set that I thought I might work and then step-by-step caught up with the "live" portion of the presentation.  

I had the Fancy Flora dsp pack on my table so that is the dsp I chose to use for the card.  Coincidentally, Sharon used a different sheet from the same package.  

I'm not real happy with the image that I stamped and would spend a little more time searching for just the right thing.  The directions had said to use a die cut but she always encourages us to "go rogue" if we choose.

FUSSY CUT FLOWERS

The card base is Mossy Meadow.  Once again I ran a piece of white card stock through my Cuttlebug with the Stitched Greenery die.   I added a scrap of dsp from Wonderful World and then carefully glued the fussy cut flower onto the front.  This card was CASED from one I saw on Pinterest.
