HEAT EMBOSSED BUTTERFLIES
The butterflies were stamped along the right side of the front of the card and heat embossed with Egyptian Gold embossing powder. After I had embossed them, I cut away that edge of the cardstock and placed a lavender piece of cardstock along the right side of the inside edge.
So far this was an expensive card because I don't believe I have used them again.........too many toys..........so I need to use them again and again. I believe these stamps came from a Canadian Stamp Company called The Stamp Barn.

TWO FUN CARDS

OK, these are two cards that I made some time ago but since I'm still working on baseball cards and beginning to make duplicates I thought I'd pull something out of my files for you. Back before there were Spellbinders dies, I purchased a lot of Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Punches and three Spirelli punches and these shapes were made with those. The same affect could be achieved by using some of the Spellbinder dies as well. I used some very fine gold thread to make the designs. The outcome depends on how many spaces you skip with the winding.
The top card shows a circle in the middle. On some cards a metal embellishment of some type can be placed there for an added focal point. I also like the "teardrop" area being left open. The card I saw done in this way had a small gold cross in the middle which made a wonderful religious card.

I HOPE I DON'T BORE YOU.............

It's still another baseball card that I made today...............I saw a white circle on the table that I had cut with my Nesties. Add a little red appropriately and you have a baseball. I have been using the Cuttlebug folder that looks like wood grain a lot for the baseball cards I've made. The scoreboard will eventually have numbers on it which show the scores each inning etc. of the final State Tournament game which they won.
TWO VISITORS
The first picture is taken through our window showing how the one hangs by its feet and stays that way until it gets its fill. Today it actually lost its balance and almost fell off. It was quite comical watching it scramble to get back up. (Shame on me for laughing.)
The second picture also shows one sitting on top of the big rock waiting for its turn.

MICKEY AND MINNIE

The background paper was cut to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 measurement and attached to the front of a card made with Powdered Sugar cardstock from Lasting Impressions. I adhered the Disney sticker to a layer of red cardstock from Stampin Up and then adhered that layer to a black glossy paper which then was put on to the designer paper.
I stamped the vertical sentiment on white and cut it to attach to the left side of the card. Stickers may be "cheating" a little when making cards but for children, I thought these designs were so cute!
Thanks for looking. Come back again soon.

VIOLETS
Other papers used were Bazzil Basics lavender and green pieces. I also used white glossy paper for the oval and white Lasting Impressions for the punched layers. (I have found the MS punches do not work well on a heavy card stock like Paper Trey.)
The flowers are rub-ons and although it probably won't show on the picture, the flowers & leaves are glittery and quite pretty. Ovals were cut using my Nesties.
Let me know if you have any questions.

PUNCHED FLOWER
I'm not sure if the card needs any further detail but please feel free to ask questions by emailing me at vboddicker@aol.com.

BUTTERFLY PROJECT
Once again it has been too long since I posted something. Last Wednesday we had four grandchildren here. The next day two went to the other Grandmother's home and then two days later we switched. Sunday we took all of them home for the little one's 2nd Birthday party. What fun it was to be able to be the first one to wish her a "Happy Birthday" and give her that first "Birthday kiss". She's a real hoot to have for a few days......what a personality!
Anyway the picture I am showing today is of two butterflies that the two oldest granddaughters made while they were here. The girls are 11 and 8 years old. I told them about a "Butterfly Project" that is wanting 1,500,000 hand made butterflies for a Holocaust Museum in Houston, TX. When I explained the project to them they both wanted to take part in it.
The butterflies are made with Ranger's Gloss Paper. I let the girls use my Ranger Alcohol Inks to color the paper and then they cut out the butterflies with the Spellbinders Butterly dies using my Cuttlebug. They both enjoy doing crafts while they are here so I thought it was really special that they wanted to take part in the project.
Working with Ranger Alcohol Inks can be a lot of fun. Let me know if you would like to order. Thanks for looking. School will be starting soon and the "Grandma Day Care" should be coming to an end. I hope to be posting photos on a more regular basis again.
