ARROW CARD - Using Stampin' Up! Boho Medley dp
I watched a video (I think from Lisa Curcio) showing how to make this card. When the video started I got ahead of myself and cut a piece instead of scoring it for a fold. I put the pieces aside and thought I would just use them as scrap. However, after I completed the card below, I went back and was able to glue the piece on in the appropriate place for a save! Whoever receives this card will never know the difference. 😀 Don't you love it when you can save what you thought was ruined?
For this one, I actually took my time and followed the directions after fully listening to each step. Can you tell any difference? The arrow shape with the navy "wings" flips up and there is a light piece of card stock there for a sentiment and signature.

USING LEFTOVER PIECES OF DESIGNER PAPERS - 3 CARDS
I will probably use this one for someone's anniversary. The colors on the paper are so soft. Although this was likely from Michael's or Hobby Lobby, it went perfectly with Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride car stock.
The paper on the card above was double sided so I made this card using the pretty alternate. I pulled out a stamp set that had a similar design to it and randomly stamped it on the right half of the card front.
This one? Clean and simple!

STAMPIN' UP! - A Cherry on Top - #6
I saved my favorite card until last. This one used three strips of Washi tape. The green tree topper, tree trunk and bird were made with a single punch that coordinated with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set which had the little flowers. The "sun" is actually a die cut from a set of dies to make a flower but I thought it worked great with the other pieces.
Thank you for coming by today! I hope you have a great weekend!

STAMPIN' UP! - Birthday Bouquet #2
This card was CASED from one I saw on Pinterest. i really like how this one came together. I think the main difference in mine is that I used gold foil card stock instead of silver.

STAMPIN' UP! - More Birthday Bouquet dsp
This was actually one of the last cards I made using these papers. It was using two scraps and the dotted piece that I still had left. I was just trying to use every single piece to get them used up. I have three more cards this week that will be posted and then I'm pretty sure that's the end of them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAMIE!
One of the Stampin' Up! demonstrators who gives the retreats that I have taken, made a card like this and I though it was just beautiful! Naturally I had to give it a try. I was so happy with it that I decided I would hold it for someone special. Who could be more special than one of our daughters.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!
I hope all of you have been having a great holiday weekend!
This week I will be showing cards I made using paper from the Stampin' Up! Birthday Bouquet designer paper. Since it has been retired for quite a while, I wanted to get the paper used up that I still had. This was the first one I made.

LARGE BLOSSOMS
On the first two cards, I die cut and added the two layers to the front of an A2 card front. It is pretty over powering so I cut the fronts of the cards away and added it to a 5" x 6 1/2" card base. (The card base is from a package of cards and envelopes sold by Michael's.) I was much happier with it.
Once again, this card is 5" x 6 1/2" but since the die cut pieces were added to a white piece of card stock first, I matted it with the Highland Heather card stock before adding it to the card base.
These cards were made several weeks ago. I'm afraid I have forgotten how I did the various colors on this. The card has evidently been used because I didn't find it along with the others. I'm pretty sure I saw the idea on a YouTube video. For this one I did leave it on the front of a card front measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

STAMPIN' UP! A GREAT CARD FOR SCRAPS
After making the card for my mother's birthday, I had some small pieces of the papers on my table. I punched two 1" squares of each of the two designer papers. Then I punched 1 1/4" squares from the Petal Pink card stock. The lower left and upper right pieces were actually a gray design so I colored in the leaves and buds with Petal Pink and Old Olive blender pens.
I've seen cards like this for a long time but I don't think I have ever made one like it where you round two of the corners on each of the squares. I love how this one turned out.

ONE LAST PROJECT FROM SUMMER RETREAT
The easiest way for me to make this card was to use the same designer paper pieces as the ones that were used in the demonstration. I didn't have to take the time to plan out what papers would go together. Once I had the "square" portion of this design on the card front, that left a lot of "white' at the bottom. The lady demonstrating had coordinating stamps that worked in the upper right white square and the white area at the bottom. I could have still done that by stamping "Happy Birthday" but decided to just stamp a couple of border stamps to finish off the front.

THANK YOU CARD
Following the storm that moved through Iowa, some citizens in our small town stepped up to help out with food. One night there were people at the baseball diamond serving grilled hamburgers and hotdogs while at the fire station others were handing out other sandwiches. We had food so we didn't take advantage of that. The next night there was a group that gathered at the fire station once again and grilled hamburgers and brats. There were a lot of other items to go with the sandwiches as well. We did go to that one just to get out of the house and see how some other people were doing.
The food for the second night was donated by several people from the community, the Salvation Army, and HyVee. One of the ladies involved made the comment that when they thought they were going to run out, it was unbelievable how more food just kept showing up. It reminded me of the "fish and loaves of bread" from the Bible story. She gave me a list of the people who had donated and I sent Thank You cards to them. People really stepped up!
On a third night about a week later there were two young men who grilled BBQ ribs and a supper was made available once again for members of the community....especially for those who had volunteered in clean up and in other ways. I used to know nearly everyone in town but that's not the case anymore. However it was so reassuring to see the community pull together and there is the same spirit that has been here as long as we have lived in this little town.
